  1. That was a huge oversight on my behalf.
  2. Only for purposes of length of use in an engine. I believe blue is basic stuff, orange is long life, pink and purple are VAG spec stuff. For brakes i think anything will do.
  3. Just another ploy by companies to make buy their parts, especially with us vain cyclists. "sorry I can't do this today as my logos dont match to my liking" Piss taking aside, very pretty bike.
  4. Something We can't see... Helium filled frame? 20" inner tubes? Ceramic hub bearings? Solid wood bb axle?
  5. More than welcome, chances are I'll be tagging along. I really am starting out again. Lost all my confidence, skill, luck, etc. Too late on the stem, lol. Found a 100x35 going very cheap on On-One. So far so good, still a litte effort to get on back, but easier than before. Atleast I can still 'attempt' more traditional trials.
  6. I say go for whatevers prettiest, cheapest, most easily available. Front hubs don't have any special features from one to the other, maybe axle options? For the sake of 50-100g would you even notice it while riding?
  7. I get out around bexhill once or twice a week. Hopefully more so in the spring summer. Never really go further than bexhill though.
  8. Are the advantages of high rise bars limited to short setups? Like 70mm stem, short wheelbase bikes.
  9. Hello all, heres my Zoot DD which I bought from here a few months back. Still need to build a front wheel, unfortunately with xmas coming the kids presents take priority.. Aparantly. Lol. Zoot DD frame and fork. Shimano M445 brakes. On One stem and GT bars. Stem is 100x35, only cost £5.99, bargain! Quanta rear hub, has 36 POE, with four pawls, but due to quality none of them engage at same time, so i make that 144 POE. Hah!
  10. Looks very nice. How do the Magura levers feel? I've been looking at those, but been put off by the 'plastic' lever body. Also, does anyone know the rise on those bars? 20 or 40?
  11. Always loved that frame, very nice colour too! Definately needs lots of bare alu and black parts.
  12. Planet x zebdi Middleburn RS7 Magura HS33 Tioga factory DH IRC El Gato Shimano UN72 The list goes on.. Haha.
  13. How frickin' awesome would that be! I need a new stem...
  14. Hi, yeah, been a very long time. Take your nowhere near hastings anymore. Still riding trials? I probably bit too amateur to warrant the journey yet.. Haha. But agreed bexhill has some nice places, especially since they redeveloped the seafront. Partly what spurred me on to start again.
  15. So are Hope the only recomended freehubs for trials these day? I take it halo/dmr 6 pawls are pretty rubbish? Does anyone have any experience going from 110x20 to 90x35 stem?
  16. What seems to norm these days on 26/24? Freewheel or freehub? Especially from a cost point of view...
  17. I remember a time when anything more than 70 was only the reserve of those with Chriskings. 24 to 48 was considered normal. My xc bike has 36 poe, i thought that was good. Haha.
  18. Morning all. Well its been 5 plus years since my zebdi was stolen. I took that as a sign that it was time to call it a day. While the kids have been taking up all my time, its now changed a bit. So.. I've bought myself a 2nd hand zoot frame, built it up, and just come back from my first proper ride. Apart from achin like hell, it was fun. Glad i convinced the Mrs to let me spend the dosh to "have an early mid life-crisis" I just have a couple of questions and observations. First and foremost; does anyone live around bexhill these days? It took me a while to find the balance point on the rear wheel, so im merrily manual-ing, but, getting to it is a real labour. Im currently running the 110 x 20 stem that came with the frame. I tried a 60 x 5... Yes, i know, big mistake.. Would we all agree that a 90 x 35 would be a logical step? I've never been a front wheel kinda guy, always happier hurtling along on the back. Or do just need to get used to modern geometry? Finally... My god, has anyone else ever gone backwards in engegement points? Its plain scary! I had the luxury of 72poe on my zebdi, now back on 16poe until finance allows. The deadtime between engagements seems huge! Does nothing for confidence! Thanks for hearing my ramblings.
  19. Have you checked the tightness of the BB? Do you have a BB tool? If i remember correctly the driveside tightens anti-clockwise, and the non-drive tightens clockwise. If its loose, remove it and chuck some grease on the inside of the plastic ring where it mates to the metal BB shell.
  20. So long as your crank arms are tight, theres little else it can be. Most BB's these days are unserviceable cartridge units so the only route is a new one. to be honest I've been out of riding for quite a while so I dont know whats good these days, I always swore by Shim' UN72. But I think thats now been replaced by UN73, which has a plastic 'nut'

  22. Well I feel I should say a couple of words. I have recently lost my licence under the 'New drivers act of 95'. As a result people are constantly asking how long ive been banned for. My answer; "I've not been banned, i'm off the road till i get my ass in gear and pass both tests again." Also, my insurance has been hardly effected, Ive only got two SP30's, and no SPD's. So try to look on brightside! I'll be back on road by late Jan, all going well.
  23. Looking at some of these setups, I really look fwd to the day when some of you have a little more to spend your cash on.. Im not bitter at all. :">
