twat thats the old ashton trials frame, feckin ace old school bikes just cos it isnt long, low and silver, doesnt mean you cant ride it like a beast-thats the kinda thing the older riders had to 'cope' with-i personally think thats how a trials bike should pretty much look, i dont really dig the gayness of most of the frames out now also the fact hes on what is considered a restrictive bike nowadays, means hes was pretty good anyway, shame to hear about you injury, its not just trials it affects though, must be quite annoying in general havin the lack of mobility you used to have, hell it was bad enough for me taking a few years out cos of my back after a fall on my scrambler nice to see the support you are giving your brother, would be a shame to see the passion for biking to die just cos you cant ride anymore, at least you can give help and get some cool snaps/footage

im pretty sure me and 'gears' have the same bikes almost, cos his was george seamons old bike we both have kings, base frame, fattys, rear ceramic, front and rear ultimates with xtr levers(but i think hes gone gay and got a maggy now again), burns, un52, fsa headset, maxxis rear tyre i think the only differences are colours, i run a proper seat, bar and stems and front wheels

i agree to a point, but ive seen shitloads of decent riders with tuf guys, hell even i used to use them but yeah, most of the time i dont feel the need to send cheaper parts back if they break, generally they have broken for a reason-abuse and they didnt cost much so i dont mind

ahhh things change when it comes to a commuting bike, and a trials bike......you will get more scrutinised it seems when you ride a 'tricks' bike cos its not really being used to get to work or anything, just to ride on some bits on concrete or jumps of dirt, i found with my local train service, they dont grumble at anybody with a normal bike, argh i cant seem to get my point accross basically ive found, takign a normal bike on a train doesnt end up in grief anyway, im pretty fed up with the shit bikers seem to get, its a pretty poor show-we kinda ask for it riding bikes with no seats and silly gears though-mocking targets...even worse for mod riders

i know just how you feel, its even worse then when you dont hear then and they walk in...its a contest between the time it takes them to open the door, to the time it takes to pull you trousers up i hate the way mum uses her nails to type on her phone, makes me cringe, and how when dad drives, he insists on drivng virtually on the verge....scares the shit out of me oh and when they make the slightest mention of thier sex life.....eeeesssssh or saying something about how 1 of the foster kids shat itself when im eating-suddenly dont feel hungry after that cant really think of any other things, i love them to bits so i guess they dont annoy me that much they certainly have done alot for me they are uber supportive when it comes to bikes and kitting out my workshop, infact dad almost insists on buying things for it-i have to persuade him not to!

in my experience on the older montys, the shorter lower stems with risers felt a bit cramped, i ran a hi rise viz (like t master) stem with 2 inch rise bars which felt amzing for pretty much everything i would try out a few combinations when you get it just a pointer if it makes any difference-im 6ft2 and i used the bike for streety style riding, so i liked it uber responsive as for headset/bb, the c2 seems to be ok, but ive heard of a few busting-hasnt that monty got an internal headset? if not, get yaself a fsa pig/pig pro, both awesome headsets and last ages-and the extra few grams in weight isnt going to kill you in terms of bb, get a shimano un52/3-the deore/lx version, they are simple, solid and cheap bbs that last ages, keep away from the xt ones, cos the mix of a hollow axle and the extra length and leverage of a wide bb for a mod=snap happy cant say i have really bothered to try any other bbs in square taper, cos ive never seen any point

im experimenting with more im gonna go back to a grind and front disc (cos theres too much shit on my farm for the ceramics to keep working well ) so hopefully i shall find soemthing the majority will be able to use

that hanger also fits a few merlin frame,s the 03 dr jekyll, the 02/03 dawes hardtails, and shogun hardtails

sheringham sounds cool, where abouts is it? and how would i get there? is there a train service? we will do norwich first, cos its pretty accessible and theres a few sweet spots ill give you ring later hopefully (im not to keen on whacking my number up, specially since there are a few twats on here..)
