  1. I once looked into this - theyre called 'sprag bearings'... nothing ever came of it though, I decided (from the specs of the bearings) the hub would be too heavy, and not be able to take enough torque. Yeah, you cant really feel the weight once on the bike, but on paper it looks bad (fickle trials riders :) ). Lol, you'll shit a lot more than that :P different kind of weight though... :P
  2. Classic hub shell. Beefy as fook axle. Imperial cap head allen bolts. Totally re-designed driveshell to house extra needle bearings for more support (run on the axle itself) Axle threads removeable/replaceable. Same drive/drive rings, spring, and spring capture plate = same engagement. (108 clicks at the pedals for 18:12 gear ratio, like you said Craig :P)

Not bad :P Solid 'bars' or tubes?
  4. Do you download though, Sam? Bandwidth is what costs... and its what you use up when you download! I think Si has done it this way, because it would be tricky to keep tabs on uploads...
  5. Lower the front more :- Kick through the bike. Edit: Nope, im not. They just used the pic.
  6. - Jump harder/faster - Get right to the edge - Use the tyre squidge to help you - Watch videos! :- PS: High/hard gear ratio will hinder you.
  7. The trade price has dramatically changed recently - speak to Raleigh if you have complaints... sorry.
  8. I was thinking about this... and it'd be quite tricky. It takes a long time to get used to the new frame, since its so different - might even be classed as progress! :P Will bear it in mind though :P Cheers. Took a few 'comparison' style vids yesterday - myself on the proto, and Dave on his standard T-Rex... should be online tonight. Was a nice chilled ride on some rocks... and all I have to say is: Anyone wanna buy my T-Rex frame? :P
  9. Interesting topic...! Im not sure why they do use them - my guess would be: People like Hermance etc are sponsored, so have to use the pedals. The trials-specific shoes they use also work ok with them. Im not sure about Ashton etc... maybe theyre just used to those pedals from ages ago, when they were the only decent pedals available? I can certainly say that, from my own experience, pinned pedals seems to offer much better grip, and also have larger platforms. Many people say caged pedals work well with running-type trainers - but, i dont own any, so have never tried. Definitely each to their own though! :P
  10. Who have pictures of all imported items held on record :P"
  11. Yep, thats correct. £25 a pair plus postage. Same price from *ahem* other shops :P"

Bike bag worked for me :D Just make the cleaner a cup of tea every now and again :S"
  13. I agree Dave, thats the only thing I found annoying about my Avid (well, apart from catching the adjuster on rocks - rare though). Didnt find it fading as quickly as you though :S I must say though, that ive not suffered any noticeable fade from my Hope Trials brake yet (and i was specifically TRYING to get it to fade yesterday :D ). Not sure what Dave meant about the caliper/pads... I guess the pads do get hot when they transfer heat to the rotor, but the rotor is there to dissapate that heat, so its a major factor. Maybe worth trying a different rotor... wavy ones are specifically designed to have more surface area, so get rid of heat better. Holes also help. The avid rotor is far from a bad design, though.
  14. Something like 311g for standard axle and steel driveshell. Its nothing like RB hub really... has clutch plates from what i understand. I think theres a patent for it... looking now. Edit: 562 results for 'hub AND bicycle', sod that! Nothing if you search under 'true', 'precision' or 'ackert'. Oh well... Good luck with the hub Andy :D
  15. Does 600g mean anything to you? haha The new ones may be better, hopefully :S
  16. Supercycles have them. Black lever blades.
  17. You'd be better off with the Alex (or a Ronnie/Echo, something similar)... the Monty rims are known for being soft material.
  18. Did you do a big version as well? Stick it up here :S
  19. The Howies blue you had in your MSN display pic looked nice Joe :S
  20. Are the teeth shiny? If so, thats cos its worn IN, not worn :S You'll know if it needs replacing.
  21. Nothing in the Continental range! Most people probably use a Explorer or Vertical, nice and cheap (£13ish), pretty large (2.1 or 2.3") and light (550g ish if memory serves me correctly...). Very thin sidewalls though, and hard compound so things get messy when not riding on dry concrete!
  22. Apparently pretty good in the rain - since it acts as a barrier, keeping them cool.
  23. I wonder if they'll melt when they get hot :-" And be very grippy, like glue...
  24. I wouldnt personally call 132g 'light'... but stiff, and good-looking they are! (Y)
  25. Its fair to say theyre not as tough as, say, a DX32 - however Scott doesnt wanna run a grind :) As for the eyelets - its only the (quite a lot cheaper than Try-All) Onza Hog rims that have them (and maybe the viz ones too).
