Will depend on your location Alpine bikes stock them in scotland, but i dont even know which country your in i use the low impacts currently, and i would say just be careful size wise, they are quite a chunky shoe and some folk end up going half a size to one whole size up compared to what they usually would wear.

Bare with me................... How hard would it be to make an app which uses google maps, similar to the Pokemon app but instead with gyms and checkpoints you could mark in places for riding. So if you were to visit other cites you could potentially click on a Point of interest, brings up a picture and you could then decide to head there or somewhere else? Obviously because im completely ignorant on apps and making such an app, i would assume its a 5 minutes job but no really anyone any experience with apps? how hard would something like that be?

If you youtube search ben travis, he rode in aberdeen a lot (not sure if he is still there) but you might be able to recognize some spots. St Nicholas shopping centre was always good (on the top of it) from what i remember.

Ha i genuinely wanted the t130 S Yari but they were sold out at the time, I worked for alpine bikes for 7 years so thankfully they managed to get me this one on a deal instead. How long you had yours bud?

Haha! Yeah like it's probably the best bike I've ridden! I did think at the start it was maybe too cross country, but had the fork internals changed to 140mm and it's perfect for what I ride !

Though I was the only one who watched my videos unfortunately YouTube years ago stopped my account for some reason and I lost everything from bike videos to car dyno days. no idea if it where the video could be now I suspect lost forever but it thanks for your comments, genuinly made my night just heading long to gym so will find the song name later on and message you!

7 years ago was the last time i posted on here and had a trials bike, im glad to see some things havent changed! Randomly bought rockman akali? for £40 and placed an order with tarty bikes to get some parts on it (glad to see they are still going strong!!) Anyway? any of the older members still on here? i sufferd major depression and anxiety problems, i ended up looking at cognitive theropy (it was mainly for the anxiety ) but it was a big help.

have you had a look at bike route toaster? it's a good website for seeing what climbs and descents you will have to face.

The cubes are a german based company and like most other european companies there idea of xc riding is very different to the uk. Xc in europe is mainly smooth paths going up and down hills so there is not really much needed in the way of the geometry of the bikes, they are very efficient for climbing (there fore quite long in the top tube) but you cant really manouver them about. personally id stay away. The boardmans are brilliant spec but the frames are pretty poor quality, i havent personally seen the aluminium ones cut up but the likes of the carbon ones (fare enough out with your budget) but the ones of them i have seen have lots of air bubbles which shows poor building/manufacturing technique. id be looking at either the trek like mentioned above (comes with a lifetime warranty on the frame 5 years on the bontrager parts and a year on the other parts) The genesis bikes (mainly the cores or the altitudes) the cores are an aluminium frame altitudes are a steel. they are deisnged and built in the uk for uk conditions and are really fun to ride. (genesis core20 is a brilliant bike) http://www.evanscycl...ampaign=froogle Also look at the cannondales trail sl4 or trail sl3. these come with an air fork which you would normally have to pay £900+ plus to get on other hardtails. I work in alpine bikes inverness, if you need any help with the bikes pop in (eg if you need certain tools) i will happily help you out. watch out for the hills between caithness and brora there are massively steep hills with sand traps for the lorries to get caught in when there brakes fail.

Things i remember.
