  1. It's often the door membranes in old VWs that cause that issue, or the sunroof drains (if applicable).
  2. You fitted the lights as part of the stripping down?
  3. They won't, but that's not your problem.
  4. Just send a letter to the DVLA saying you no longer own the car, I usually go a bit OTT and write them a sad tale of a love lost and a parting of ways on whatever date You'll get a letter back within a couple of weeks confirming it.
  5. Small, blue, average looking Renault, same bleddy thing
  6. Would you not be better off just putting rubber bands on that ones bumpers and drive that instead? Same bleddy thing innit
  7. I own a Peugeot 306 that cost me $300 because the brake servo was leaking and the garage quoted $2000+ to fix it. It was just the little boot on the pedal side was split, other than that it just needs some bulbs and maybe a rack end for MOT, once again total cost of repairs will be sub $100, love this town it looks almost identical to that, but it does have a badboy exhaust (that I kinda wanna put on the Audi )
  8. Is that not the same photo? This project is getting a bit Dann270779
  9. As most others have said, you've actually got to want to quit, if you're doing it to please others but don't actually want to stop because you enjoy it, you'll never do it. As such JDs advice on smoking a shit load is good, make it the most unenjoyable thing in the world, give yourself a reason to not do it.
  10. Please find camera, it doesn't get much less interesting than a loose description of parts you're collecting for a Honda project
  11. Stick a pheasant in it permanently
  12. Honesty approach to selling the Civic is not going well, trying it out of curiosity - telling people I work at the big car parts chain, bought the car as a fixer upper and a brief description of what needed doing has resulted in no sales (out of 5 views). Back to the old "it belonged to an ex-housemate who has left the country" approach haha
  13. Civic turd cleaned up pretty nice again, put it in for an MOT equiv, had a hole in the exhaust, a brake light bulb out and needed one tyre. Donated a 6 pack for a part worn tyre at the tyre shop across the road from work, got some Knead It (good shit, can fix anything with it!) for free from work because damaged packaging and the bulb was $1, I did however splash out a bit and spent about about £30 on 2 close enough coloured rattle cans to cover up some of the shitty scratches and laquer peel, a car wash and the petrol station hoover. The result - Stands me at $300, already got 5-6 people interested at $1650 Having driven it a bit, aside from the fact it feels like the f**king thing might roll over if you take a corner with any kind of gusto I can imagine one with sorted suspension and a bit of poke being pretty good fun!
  14. Why remove the carpets? Drill through the carpet, it covers it remarkably well! And you'll get more water getting in from above than below
  15. Its redeeming features - there's so little engine in the bay that I was able to just get in with it to bypass the matrix, and it has an adorable little bell to let me know I'm in reverse, JDM as fuk m8. It really has nothing else going for it, it's built like shit
  16. I've taken the floor bungs out of a few of my MK2s for the same reason
  17. Bought a wanky Honda wheyyyy! $200, needs an outer CV and the heater core is split so I'll be bypassing it
  18. if it's gone through all the proper procedure you'll get a credit aye Saying that, I have been known to argue with the live chat people for 4+ hours to get my way on these kinds of things, but they did get so sick of me on that instance they credited my full month's fees ($400+) by mistake
  19. On top of selling the Galant, it is my birthday so I've just got back from Milford Sound to a parcel from England from my sister full of Mini Rolls and Chocolate Fingers Been raining non stop for 2 days too, apart from a small 2 hour window of clear skies while we were on the Milford boat, great success!
  20. Galant sold yesterday, guy is so thrilled with it he's insisting he buy me and the Mrs a beer when his funds have recovered!
  21. Can't stand wankers like that, eBay is crawling with them, last one I had I sold a faulty GoPro, fully described the fault, included a test video to demonstrate the fault, the full works, guy bought it realised he couldn't fix it and went through eBay for his refund + post at my expense. eBay are f**king useless for sellers in these instances too!
  22. It may look like dirt on the front there, but is in fact an absence of paint Not bad for a couple of hours with the rattle cans, polish and $50 worth of dress up bits Should bag me an easy $1500 Once again though, I've fallen a bit in love with it because it's actually a really nice car

  24. Have you removed an engine before? Because it looks as though you're making the same schoolboy error I (and most) made first time I did it - removing every little nut and bolt, manifold, sensor, bit of ducting etc etc first
