Have a good look at Facom and King Dick tools as well. They seem to be at least on a par with Snap On from the verdicts of the maintenance techs at the company I work at during the hols. Best thing to do is probably go down to your local engineering spares supplier and have a word with them. They'll know what's good for what you want to pay (assuming you want quality stuff - a decent 1/2" socket set will cost at least a hundred quid for a decent size range).

Autocad Streaming Trial This was something I tried for my sister when I was looking for a version of Autocad for her a while back. If your internet connection is fast enough it's worth a look, but it takes about an hour for it to set itself up properly from what I remember (fraid i can't remember what our internet connection was at the time) best thing though is that it's direct from Autodesk themselves. edit: It's also quite slow, cos you're effectively running a remote desktop connection, with all the processing taking place at the server end i think

Don't give up on uni just cos you've made a mess of UCAS. You've always seemed like a fairly intelligent sort, what with the discussions with Joel and suchlike, and it'd be a waste to not get a degree under your belt, as it's always useful for something to show future employers that you're capable of being analytical, especially something like a degree in English, which for some reason i believe is quite highly valued in any kind of consultancy where people have already shown that they have the ability to extract meaning from a situation. Wandered off the topic, anyway - i'm doing engineering at Loughborough. Currently want to be a technician somewhere for a couple of years cos i've met too many snotty nosed graduates who wouldn't understand the difference between a spanner and a grease gun yet think they're God's gift to the world. Probably not the response you're looking for, but you can pick up a decent set of creative inspire 2.1 speakers for about a tenner on ebay. It's worth a look if money is your deciding factor rather than a wish to bodge. Ebay search Andy

If your doors and doorframes are fairly sturdy, just take the bar that connects the handle to the latch mechanism out, then shut the door. If your doors are flimsy, don't do this cos a pissed mate will try to open it and break the door or frame.

My thinking is that I want a pure stereo amp because it's going to be (an admittedly 1 year late) coming of age 21st birthday present, and I want to get something that is going to last for a long time. Stereo technology seems pretty stagnated at the moment, so an amp bought now will still be good in a few years time, whereas if I buy a multichannel amp, i'll be wanting a newer better one in a few years. I'll take a look at the avland right now I'm after a really good quality sound, rather than one that is just stupidly loud, so the PA idea is out the window. Cheers for your help and advice so far.

To all you audiophiles out there: it's time to get myself onto the first rung of decent quality sound, and i'm looking at spending around £300 on a stereo amp. Best off leaving the plug in the wall, but turning the power switch next to if off. That way the computer is still grounded and any static electricity you have built up will discharge to the case and flow away harmlessly.

60 x 60 = 3600 metres/hour then you want to divide it by the number of metres in the mile, which you say is 1610. so you get (metres/hour)/(metres/mile) remember the fraction your dividing by turn upside down and multiply, so you get 3600/1610 = speed in miles/hour or mph which is 2.23 ish assuming you walk at 1 m/s Andy
