do exactly what you think you should do. the cog is splined and just slides on and off, so take off the current one and replace it with the 13t and tighten it back up. john

until recently i wouldn't look twice at the diamondback range, but for 2005 they wiped the slate clean and brought in a new designer. I would certainly buy the diamondback fubar if i was in your position now. You can take off the stickers if you are embarressed because it's a diamondback, but it really would be my favoured option. It's all about the spec when you buy a mid price complete bike, as its all the small parts that you have to replace pretty quick. The fubar comes with unheard of quality when it comes to spec. An odyssey evolver brake which is amongst the best aftermarket brakes, comes standard, as do 41thermal (lifetime guarentee) odyssey cranks, and 41thermal odyssey civilian bars. Also lifetime guarentee. The whole bike is superb for the price and you will have many of the parts for years if you wish, unlike with many others where within a year you barely have any of the origional parts left as you progress andbreak things. john

i'm 22 2 months before my girlfriend is 18. It has never been an issue and i can't see it ever becoming one. We forgot straight away our age difference simply because we got on so well, so it hasn't ever been something that has bothered either of us, or any of our mates. would anyone be interested in a central ride in epic sometime in april??? It is centralish in the country and a f**king good skatepark. Big enough for a lot of riders not to be crowded, good transport to there and northerners wouldn't have to travel all the way south or vice versa. I'm not too arsed as last time i drove to newport so i'll obviously travel, but maybe others are more likely to travel to a more central location?!?!? tell me about it. yeah they are biger now. you can still get other helmets however..... california pro sell lids with foam, and capix do, as do visor, although you'll have look on the web and get it from usa. gary young and ryan sher have signature visor lids and they are spot on. john

loads of bmx places do protec's, but unfortunately they are all shite now with big moulded polystyrene inners now. You may still get a white buck lasek one with red straps and soft duel density foam inside but they are rare now. Alans got 60 in before christmas and tey were sold in a week because it was on their site, so people went crazy and bought a couple each etc. I have a newish one in my house that i don't even use. I'm waiting until my other helmet's foam runs out. john

www.customriders.com or www.alansbmx.com are the best i'd say. with an odyssey evolver, which is really what you want if you want to get a top brake, you get a set of big fat heavy springs, and a set of thinner more responsive springs. You SHOULD use the thinner smaller springs if you want a better feel. Simply try both and you'll see why. and about the wheel......... possibly THIS Hofman make really good freewheel hubs. Really smooth. Also they do have some quality rims in their line. No point looking for a cassette at the price bracket you have so i'd get that even though it's slightly more than you said, it'll last a long time. john
