Thought I'd share some very amateur work in a variety of stuff.. Photoshop render and logo for a hypothetical ( ) wireless guitar effects device. Random bed side table slash tilt/lift wash basket I made for my room! 180mm disky rotor. Twin shot (with another couple of inserts) mould tool of a pendant for Ripcurl, in which a little bit of sand/sea/snow can be kept as a necklace. Rubbish render - but an incredibly fun device!

Effing tastic! Well up for this. Also prefer the idea of a East-West South coast kinda route; can chuck in some beach-ventures then too Also, I'm gonna be donating £150 worth of Phatworks products (which will be released and confirmed nearer the time) to the winners of certain challenges to be proposed & discussed here. So there's even more incentive to come and have a hilarious time. Luke and I will be judges. Did many people stay in hotels/B&Bs last year? Or was it a camping/trying to chat up locals kinda jobbie?

Great stuff guys. I'll be there

A vice will be your best friend! If you're using a scalpel, make sure it's a sharp, fresh blade and use some water to lube the cutting. A hacksaw/decent bread knife can work extremely well, and quickly too as you get straight cuts. But, it's less accurate so practice will help there. Take it slowly!

On this one! Let's meet at the mailbox - where the walk overpass has been demolished. 11:00

Really enjoyable vid that - what an awesome location! Good to see some massive grins and spins, the 3-tap up those steps was monstrous..

But fish is so damned tasty! I think the problem that Ben, you hinted at is that this is just one example of a lack of global consciousness. Over fishing's a symptom, which always have root causes that stem down to lack of consciousness. Instead of simply curbing fishing (which yes, must be a measure put into place), people who have power over this kinda thing need to look at the bigger picture and work forwards and see where improvements can really be made. People need to eat. People need protein. Fish contains protein. Therefore eat fish. Fish grow in the sea. Catch fish. Lack of consciousness Fish don't grow fast enough. Fish run out. Laws get put into place. We have to deal with PETA. Consider that list and it's structure for various other needs and solutions, and insert ignorance wherever appropriate. There are loads of options laterally down that list that don't end up with PETA - people need to understand this and explore and be given alternatives and options that will stem down to results that don't result in unethical, unsustainable, or unhealthy solutions. For example, if the negatives of overfishing were respected by everyone then perhaps people would develop other tastes and find a way of getting protein other than fish. What happens to all the fishermen you say? Well they become nut growers. Here's to nut farmers.

Out of interest, what's not healed?

Market Research ----- Trials Frame ----- College Project
Phatmike replied to Alex Dark's topic in Trials Chat
I think you should go with what you want and what you prefer. If you don't know what you want, then look at why not! If you go with that and it's rubbish, then you might re-think what you want, or if it's awesome you can bask in the knowledge that something you've created is awesome. If you use average data, you'll probably end up with an average bike. -
Try and get in touch with Steve Barry from Acorn Plating ltd in Berkshire. I've used them for about 4 years and always been pleased. Minimum charge is about £15 including postage back to you and I suspect a Cloud 9 wouldn't be much more than that!

Just thought I'd pick up on this; the forks will be under tension at the back when 'just riding along', however hardly any stress is put there then! The big (fork-breaking) forces come into place when the forks are being bent back, which is why most forks break from fatigue caused by high stress on the front of the legs/crown/steerer.

Trials Event @ Cuerden Valley Park 22nd May 2010 (nw)
Phatmike replied to Krafty_pk's topic in Member Organised Rides
I really like the sound of this! I'll definitely be making the effort to come. Perhaps upload the disclaimer online & allow it to be emailed back filled in, and offer a Paypal address to pay that way. What're the plans for the build up? Will you guys need help before the event? -
Good point, I've taken my mind off that working on other products. I'll try and get it out (hopefully with everything else) in the next month or two.

No, is she fit? Edit: Teabags and coffee granules in shower heads are also awesome! Oooh, if you're in halls, find the fire hose and flood your mates room from under his door whilst he's in it. That was a good one!
-
Use it to clean off all the black crap, then use grease. Both steps are equally important.
-
Do as mentioned - with the WD40/GT85, on both slave cylinders and the inside of the lever body, to clean them off - use a rag/toothbrush too. Then lube up all the pistons with grease. People seem to forget that Maguras aren't fit and forget items, and need maintenance to perform at their best consistently.

One we did over the holidays; It took some forward planning and effort, but the look on Nick's face when we were chilling in beach wear when he came back up was priceless Ooh, this was a good one - Ali came back home at 4 in the morning, hammered, to a few things nailed to his door. Listening to him trying to pull off the boomerang from over his lock was hilarious!

If you're buying just a frame, then the 1.3 (blue) has vee mounts, the 1.2 & 1.1 4-bolt. Other than that it's just colour. For the full bike - definitely pick up the 1.2 (red one), get some decent brake pads, a decent rear hub, and ditch the gears, and it'll be a sick bike.
-
I'd disagree with that! The Phase frames certainly not as long as some, but that doesn't make them terrible for it - just a more kick-ass compromise. Mine gets ridden in demos, competitions, street rides, skate parks, even on the trails! You really can't get better for the money. Here's a few clips of me on mine: http://vimeo.com/7710726 I'm now on my 3rd, but ride them bloody hard! They've lasted well over 6 months a piece, which is actually longer than any of my previous frames (Adamant A1, Echo Pure 2004, Fresh Products, IOLO, Echo Contro 05 + 06, etc etc) Enjoy it, it's MAD.

..yes, there's always pessimism. awesome

I'm all for improving the image of the sport, and completely agree that tights generally look gay as f**k. But it can't be made legislation! It's up to us, the riders to actually shape the way the sport develops. If the guy at the top is some geek with a stupid bike and wearing just a thong, but the guy edging in in 2nd place is some dude in a Hawaiian shirt, some jeans, and a piss-pot, who do you think's gonna generate the most media attention and appeal to the sport? We're all going out and bringing trials into the world, if you want to make it better, let's start making it bloody cooler!

Phatmike replied to Alex@Flawless Bikes's topic in Trials Chat
Don't forget the whole '24"' trials scene has only recently boomed - give the market a chance to catch up! -
