  1. i take it your a beginner, so if i was you i would just but up with your set up you have got now and when you are at a better standard and have the money upgrade the frame ect n then you can run a 19' wheel or you could just buy a t-pro. if you are a biginner grip ect doesn't really matter to much becuase you are learning the basics and wont be doing anything big, so it would be bit of a waste of money really as it wont help you improve. hope ive helped mate
  2. this is a silly topic really because only you no if a bike rides nice, i have a gu long and i think it rides great my friends don't perticuarly like it. its personal preference. the only way you will find out how it rides compared to the short version is to ride them both your self. if you think about it, if it was as simple as everyone thinking it rode nice or bad compared to the short then deng would only make one of them, geometry is completely a personal thing. dont listen to others as there views are biased to how they like a bike to ride ect.
  3. i do agree with you about the freshproduct ones my wheel also moved alot but i found the tryall/ inspired also to be bad aswell, but i do no of people who use them and they are ok such as tartydave. but he tightens his axel bolts extremly tight witch i dont believe is the best idea as axels such as the profile ones are aliuminium and could strip the threads. cheers for your opinion on the review anyway
  4. this is a common problem people asking other what they think of a frame, we cant tell you if you will like how it rides ect just if it is well made ect, which im sure the new zoo will be as the 06 one was. as you get better and ride more bikes you will begin to no what you like in a frame such as wheelbase, bb rise. if you like the geo of it then get it because the strenght ect should all be fine on it.
  5. thanks lads im glad ive helped you.
  6. thought i would do a review on snail cams as ino alot of poeple have problems with them. the review is based on my opinion and experiences with snail cams, but if you disagree feel free to say and may be i will change the review as hopefully it is hear to help anyone. i would recomend though if you do have a frame that will take chain tugs use them instead as snail cams are a nightmare. try all/inspired : i did not get on these at all well, they are a night mareto use as when you tension the chain and then go to tighten up the axel bolts the snail cams do not stay in the same place they slip and the chain goes slack. and this is a problem as the is 2 snail cams and 2 bolts and you only have to hands. also when you are riding, by kicking on the pedals to get on to the back wheel the tension in the chain pulls the wheel forward on the right hand side as the snail cams slip, this can be very anoyin and leads to your tyre rubbing on your frame. a way to get round them sliping is to file notches into it, if done properly this will sort the problem out. but dont just take a file to it like i did as it doesn't work put some thought into it first. fresh product snail cams : these work alot better than the smooth ones and dont slip as much but have done on me alot of times when riding still. there is a down side i have found to these though, the notches are to big and to few meaning that when you tension your chain the chain is either to slack or to tight because the notches are to wide. monty snail cams (new ones) : at the moment this is what im using at the moment and have found these to be the best. unlike the fresh products ones they have smaller notchs and more of them making it alot easier to tension the chain properly. they also dont slip on me much if at all. another way of tensioning is to use bmx style tensioners. these work really well but you have to make sure the screws dont start to screw into your dropouts as aliminium is a soft metal.
  7. im likeing how it rides, im running echo lite forks and the wheel base measures 1045 so it is pritty long. ive never rode the short version so im unable to compare it to that but i really like how it rides, and i wouldn't say the long wheelbase holds you back at all on wheel switchs ect so im really liking it but i may get a slightly shrter frame next time not sure yet though as im still able to bunnyhop this. i find it holds well on the back wheel and is good at front wheel gaps. i live in burnley and so does josh with a few other riders near by so we are always riding burnley kyle, we must ride there at least twice a week and ride blackburn often and blackpool every now and again. ive added to you so will speak to you on msn and look forward to seeing you in burnley sometime. cheers for the comments on the vid kkep them coming.
  8. the videos was posted in the video section by a friend but there has been no feedback on the vid which i was hopeing for as this is my first attempt at editing so decided to post it here aswell. also rick is riding a echo pure not control which i put mistakenly :$. all comments good or bad are welcome. http://tv.isg.si/site/filebrowser/chelseafan5
  9. yea it will work, but its not garrentied that the braking will be good as there are hundreds may be thousands of different compounds, and it is just a matter of keep trying different compounds till you find the right one, this is what companies have to do, and is a reason why not a lot of people make there own pads.
  10. funny vid there matt, shame it dusn't show you or you brother as good as you are. good vid though, try and make a longer one next time
  11. i couldn't believe it when i heard it. how ever dangerous the stuff he did was some how it seemed like he would never die, he was a true legend. im not really someone who finds animals interesting but he made what ever animal it was funny and interesting. he was a true legend, my condolances to his family.
  12. if you can find where in my posts it says i run with 8 psi then hats off to you. because i run with my tyres hard to stop puntures. and who says i would wont to be like neil tunnicliff or benito ross for all you no i may have a really streety style and wont to be like rowan johns, or for all you no i am better than neil tunnicliff ect. I was only giving my opinion which is what the forum is all about. don't go and try and rip someone to shreads just because they disagree with you. i am sorry all to go off topic
  13. sorry but i can't agree with you on the alex dx32 due to my own experience of them. i found that they dented incrediably easy, to the point when i was haveing to run high tyre pressure and was still gettin dents. although i must admit i am a heavy ride but still was not impressed by the rim at all. http://img89.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pic002gu2.jpg thats just a few of the dents i had
  14. if you buy a deng hub mate you will have to buy a freewheel as well, because like tarty said they are a fixed hub.
  15. they should be out soon with all the new deng stuff, about 1-2 months i would say. best thing is to ring someone like tarty on monday.
  16. im sorry but i disagree alex dx32's are the worst mod rims ever, they dent incrediably easy. also i believe and have been told try all rims dont hold grinds very well and aren't very strong. sorry to be nit picking, but the review other wise was good and im sure has helped many people.
  17. like it has been said above so many times halfords will have all the materials you need. i wouldn't spray the frame thought if the weather is shit like it is here as the paint can dry in patches because of the humidity in the air.
  18. heatsink v-brake pads are really good i know a friend with some and i have heard nothing but good news bout them from him and others.
  19. that bike looks sexual what rear hub you using? looks like a profile, but i didn't no they came in a disk option.
  20. yea you could if you created a spacer flat on one side and slopped on the other, so the slope of the stem and of the spacer fit together perfect and leave the top of the spacer flat solving your problem. im not sure where you could get the tube to make a spacer but im sure someone can help you with that.
  21. i can gap 11 foot, tap 7foot high on a mod. front wheel gap 12 foot and side hope 60inchs and rolling gap 150 feet i have only been riding 4 months which i think is pritty good im hoping to gap 13 feet soon sorry but it had to be done. it is a bad topic in some ways because it can make people feel a shit rider if someone who has been riding the same amount of time as someone else isn't as good as them. but i supose it is always nice to no how your doing as a rider by comparing your self to someone who has been riding the same amount of time. but no one should give the lad stick who started the topic because he didn't no that so many people wouldn't like the topic and if you don't like the topic you just don't reply.
  22. thanks alot i think i am going to do it black, if anyone has any other ideas of colours feel free to voice them or do a photoshop.
  23. im thinking of spraying my frame in the next day or to. i would be nice if someone could photoshop a picture for me. i am thinking of black, so if someone could do it in black for me that would be great, also im open to all colours so feel free to do another colour but i would like a black one first please. theres pictures on www.gubike.com that could be used or i have one but im unsure wheather it will be ok http://img116.imageshack.us/my.php?image=hudsonsgufx7.jpg
  24. ring tartybikes and talk to them, they will be able to advise you on cranks and everything else there n then and answer your questions striaght away instead of waiting for people to reply on here.
