1. The weathers been all over the place up here literally fountains coming up in the middle of the road.
2. Not really car related. But up aberdeen weathers a bit crazy just now. Feel sorry for all theae cars
3. Emissions have always been my biggest worry come mot time. My local perforance garage was spot on though. They have loads of cats lying around so they popped 1 on the teg done its test and removed and charged an hours labour. Saved me having to spend some money on supplying my own. Managed to get a mates garage to squeeze me in thursday to fit my new drop links. Everything else for the car should be here this week might make knockhill track night next week afterall
4. Car failed its mot today but only on 2 small things. Bolt on shock absorber needed tightened and Loads of play in rear anti roll bar. New drop links ordered today should be here wednesday then car re tested friday and thats it for another year. Ordered the cl5+ pads also and they were cheaper than the ds2500
5. Cheers prawn and adam will call and cancel monday and emailed 1 of the retailers on the dc2 forum about hooking me up with some cl5+ pads instead
6. Ahhh ffs haha. Well the pads havent been sent out yet as its a few days till my quick release system arives so i can call and cancel. Maby i should and get the cl pads instead then.
7. I done a fair bit of reading up and some people swear by them while others hate them seems to be pretty mixed reaction thought i would give them a bash couldnt be any worse than whats on the car at the minuite there horrible. Out of curiosity what pad you running? Cl5+ was another pad a few guys had mentioned if all fails with these new pads might try them out. Thats not entirely true i was going to buy a 4 point harness till u said buy 6 instead so went with your judgement.
8. The guy who built my car got in contact latly and sent me some pics of the rebuild of the car from blue to yellow. He cleared up a few things with me and seemed like the car was his pride and joy when he had it. Anyways since engine build the car has only covered 6000 miles which was great to know. Some pics from when he had it. Anyways i put the car into garage to get new tyres fitted and mot. They werent happy with the wiring i knew it was a bit of a mess so they said tidy it up and well put it through and that everything seemed fine. So i took dash to work tonight to cut up so it fits behind cage mite still remove more of it see how it fits and what i need and what i dont. Since its pay day thought i would treat the car to some goodies that should finish it complete. On order is Aim mxl strada digi dash d2500 pads nrg short hub and quick release system. Was fed up with the s2000 convertor dash so decided to replace it. The aim should wire into the aem ecu using can in and out and read everything from there i hope saves me needing any guages ect so looking forward to having that in. All parts should be here and fitted in the next 2 weeks. There was a track day at knockhill on the 14th i was hoping to attend but looks like i may just miss it definetly going to get the next 1 booked up though. I have for sale itr ukdm clocks, and s2000 ap1 clocks with daveywhite motorsport coverter box if anyone is interested drop me a pm
9. Seriously the best frenchie wheel tap i have seen. Sweet riding
10. Well today was quite a productive day with the car. Sorted out a water leak from the rear lights. Totally hadnt noticed but 1 side had no seal at all in it where the water was coming in from. Anywaya i had a new seal in the house i had bought 2 minuite job and it was all fitted and ahould solve the problem. Next i thought i would tackle some of the wiring out as it really was a mess and lying all over the passanger footwell and ecu was just lying there jumping all over the place. And no longer need this Tidied up the doors also ripped all the plastic out and the crappy little speakers that were up beside the mirror. Planned on ripping out the centre heater but it seemed a bit more complex than lossen 2 bolts and it would pull off so left that on at the minuite. Still need to shift my viper box which will clear most the wiring that is visible across the car Then i re fitted my front splitter to the car looks soo much nicer with it back on. Then noticed a wee bit at the bottom of my reg plate which i cant take credit for ha Inside now looks like this. And tyres in the boot which will be going on tomorrow. Think i will have to raise the rear coilovers since there slightly bigger 50 instead of 45 but fronts got plenty of space. Also i think i may look at re routing the intake surly just sucking in hot air wherw its at. Any views on chucking it down this gap i have to get air from the front bumper? And then i picked the misus up and took her for a wee spin round some back roads. She hates the car cause its yellow and loud
11. New tyres arrived today hopefully get them fitted tomorrow. Will have some cheap and cheerfull toyo r1r tyres for sale 205/45/16 if anyone is interested Also dad had a play around with his camera in the car pretty cool shot. And im in the jardo camp of who needs sun visors ha.
12. Yeh there medium compound so all is looking good. Would have been around £750 delivered buying from elsewhere but a retailer on the itr forum got a few sets in so £450 delivered I couldn't really pass up on. Anyways they will be here Friday. Think this is the first time I have had to buy tyres for a car since I passed my test 6 years ago. If I get a few track days out them and the odd weekend drive about with my pals all be happy enough.
13. Lmao that will be enough of that chat. Them were the days though apart from how cold it was a night and towler not willing to share haha
14. Hey something like that would need offline programming for all the fancy curves which would first need to be drawn as a solid up in cad. I cant see you getting 1 of them for anywhere near £32 pounds between labour and material am afraid. Parts like that would need to be made in bulk to work out cheap.
15. Haha my mistake they are indeed a048 tyres. 4 delivered for the price of £450 brand new seems a steal to me. The cars not used on a daily basis once a week at the most definetly not used in the rain either so i think i should be pretty good with them since all hopefully be attending a few track days this year. Anyways cheers mate am going to go ahead with the purchase get the crappy toyo r1s off asap.
16. Need a little advice. The teg needs some decent rubber and have been offered ad048s at a really good price. There 195/50/16 and my current tyres are 205/45/16. Looking up the alloys they seem to only come in 7 inch width. Will these fit no problem?
17. Its centre boys chill out haha. Its only havk sawed still need to flick 1 face to 15mm on both of them
18. Be finished today and posted tomorrow all drop you a pm about payment mate.
19. Got most of it done. Didnt have access to saw as workshop floor got painted so will get it finished early next week. Just to split flash the faces and npts.
20. It was my mate that bought the material so i wouldnt like to guess. I know its en24 and will probably need hardened after machining so would need to price up that also. Theres not much machining to them though bout an hour between turning and milling.
21. Chamfer will just be 0.015 just something to break the sharp edges really. But yeh i will machine 2 at once out the block then split it and flash the faces to take them both to 15mm thick. Then job should be a gd un. Also in the process of machining up a drive shaft. Just got to put the splines on the end once i get a chance aswell.
22. Job all programmed. 3d graphics of it. The 8th npt u cant see cause its on the side but will put that in also and put 45 chamfer break edges round everything.
23. Haha sorry mate pm sent off been mega busy with work.
24. Sent you a pm forteh. Yeh thats plenty information let me see what i can do and all get back to you. Straight forward thing to programme.
25. I could manufacture that no problem at all. Give me some dimensions and all get back to you with a price for material. Preferably in imperial
