  1. I love volvos. This one may not be a sleeper anymore but I fell in love with it when I first saw it. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152751829490508&l=7672a755eb https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152751824210508&l=07b453a2b3
  2. I was going to question the being cheap to insure bit too
  3. Tom, Dunc was agreeing with you, he said around '90 is when they changed to shoddy metal. I can agree though, my '77 was in better shape than my mates '91 shell!
  4. It upsets me that 50g used to be 1 packet of crisps. Anyway, this is the happy thread. Happiness ahoy!
  5. That parasol next to the whole car is comedic.
  6. I never really got bonnet bra's. Supposed to reduce stone chips etc but surely they trap sand and grit? Plus they always look wank
  7. Heston Blumenthal says you should let the steak breathe for 24 hours before you cook it ie take it out of it's packaging and put it on a rack so that the air can get to both sides. He also suggests the highest heat possible, turning frequently.
  8. I've been doing a bit of welding on someones mini. "Just a little patch on the sill" he says. Yea right! 15" long cut out of the outer sill and a 4" long patch needed on the inner.
  9. Pop tarts have been for sale for ages. £5 for a box of 'merican cereal does seem extortionate but regular cereal isn't far off that price.
  10. I thought you might have known him/the car. I'm still yet to take a trip down to A52 and introduce myself despite having lived in Bristol for 4 years now!
  11. I spent a good few hours yesterday looking for some and all the ones you guys have posted have trumped anything I came up with haha. This was one of my favourites just because it's got a bit of cool/quirkiness to it: http://retrorides.proboards.com/thread/149903/volvo-360-drift-bristol-long I (probably like most on here) just don't have any where to keep a track car where I live now
  12. A game I like to play when I'm bored: sub £1000 track cars, what would you buy?
  13. Unless someone offered me the money and arranged a date and time to collect the car, then I'd just do whatever the f**k I wanted with it. If it was THAT rare, someone would snap it up straight away
  14. I'll post some of the better shots I've taken. C + C welcome.
  15. Exactly, a "Photographer" to me is someone who does it as a profession but maybe I'm being a little pedantic. I've gone out and bought a 350D to have a go a taking photo's but I wouldn't dare call myself a photographer. Anybody can set a camera to auto, focus and then apply a B/W filter.
  16. I would only build my own table if I needed it for a specific purpose. For instance, when I had my decks, I considered designing and building my own to suit my decks, mixer, amp, speakers etc. Same for a computer desk maybe but I wouldn't bother for a dining table.
  17. How about 3 O clock and 9 O Clock?
  18. That looks like amazing fun. Still laugh at the floppy gearstick
  19. I hate that anybody with a camera seems to assume they are a photographer.
  20. A f**king hammock or a hammock in which to f**k in/on?
  21. Cant remember who was asking about POR15 but I went home a couple of weeks ago and went to paint a subframe with an old tin I had. I'd left the lid off and it had been stood for maybe 18 months. Could't break the surface, I had a brick chisel and a club hammer and gave it a fair few blows, nothing. Ended up flipping the tin and piercing the bottom to get to it.
  22. Slightly related but I went and watched the Ladyboys of Bangkok with some mates. Most fun and best laugh I've had in a while
