  1. We process a fairly large amount of orders so mistakes are bound to happen once in a while, but generally they're resolved in a way that everyone's happy
  2. It's got a fairly high BB, so with a decent sized stem you should be fine on it I'd have thought. It's obviously a bit of a longer frame, but like I said, that high BB plus the reasonably short chainstays mean it should be reet. The reach isn't massive on it either, about 61cm, so it's not a super long frame.
  3. Indeedy, hence him being in San Diego, on an aircraft carrier...
  4. As the fact it's 1% should tell you, chances are you're unlikely to be affected by it. Equally, the gusset is more to put future customers at ease, seeing as there now seems to be a whole cult on TF of people who are utterly convinced that every Ice 2 frame is going to explode arse-first and kill whoever's riding it at the time. Onza are pretty clued up with how people talk about frames, and how rumours and opinions spread, and they're pretty aware of what's said on here so they've taken that measure purely to try and get the trust of customers in the future who might be sucked in by this talk of how all the Ice dropouts are faulty. If you've got an Ice frame already, you really don't have much to worry about.
  5. That looks rad Dual disc on mods is pretty sweet, definitely made a good call on that one. Said it to Kenny when he got me to check your order, but that tyre choice is the best tyre setup you could possibly have bought
  6. Glad to hear you got your frame that quick, benefits of knowing Kenny, eh? Pretty random that hole's not threaded though, it definitely should be! If you can get away without running a plate for the weekend (if you've got a bashring or something?), maybe give us a call on Monday and we can try and sort something out with it? As Nick said, it'd probably be best not doing too much to it yet in terms of taking powertools to it...
  7. It shouldn't make it all that much flexier, it just seems to make it hold way better. Don't really notice a difference in bite so much, it's just the extra power means that you get that bit more hold.
  8. 16% more power, according to the maths Ads did on it. It's definitely noticeable. It gives a kinda weirder lever feel because it just pulls in a different way, like the arc your finger makes is a bit different to the 2-finger blade, but it is a lot better than the 2-finger blade. My brake barely ever slipped with it on 'cos you just put so much power through it. They're reasonably inexpensive too if memory serves, so may be worth doing to try and see if it can make your hold better (which it's basically going to do ). For the record, I was using it on the back...
  9. I know returns numbers don't really mean much in the grand scheme of things, but there was about a 1%-ish failure rate on the Ice frames from the amount that were actually returned. That's pretty good, to be fair. In any case, to put people at ease they've put that extra gusset on the Ice 2, but I don't really know what the score is with the Skull frames at the mo. I'm sure Joe will be on to clear things up soon enough.
  10. They are indeed. As it says on all the product offer pages, they're strictly for what's advertised there.
  11. I just swapped from a rear Magura (water bleed, standard lever, 4-finger blade, TNN LGMs, Trialtech booster, sharp grind) that was basically amazing to a dual disc setup with a 160 Monotrial rear rotor and in terms of bite it's up there with my Magura. The only real difference is purely lever feel, but that's something you get used to. Ads has a Try-All rear rotor on that has some good hold but not much bite, and it's not really as nice as my Monotrial rotor. It just works really nicely, and especially in the wet. We ride natural every weekend come rain or shine, and it's nice to know it'll just work. On a mod, it just makes a bit more sense, really. For street use, it's pretty rad too. Reasonable modulation 'cos it's a small rotor, but hold when you need it. You can never underestimate how nice it is having a silent rear brake too
  12. I don't think he shouldn't do it - far from it. Even if he was only able to post things on Saturdays, if customers KNEW about that then that would be fine, as the customers would know what they were getting in to. At the moment, it's all down to a break-down in communication. Like I said before, just a simple e-mail to say what's going on to customers would be fine. That's all that's really missing now.
  13. If you do need to trim your pads down, that's a pretty easy job to do. You don't need to be super accurate as long as it fits in there, 'cos you can fill it with glue anyway! In terms of pad material too, for Maguras, the TNN LGMs really can't be beaten when set up well on a sharp grind. Soooo good!
  14. True. Gotta be the smallest 'Large' sized top I've ever seen (EDIT: And now worn - nice garment!). Chris - I'm back in Wales this weekend, so I'll grab your light meter for you!
  15. Yes? If you give someone £30 (or whatever they are), then don't hear anything at all and can't get in touch with the person you've given the money to, you'd be understandably confused and concerned as to what the situation was. If you just get told "It'll be with you in two weeks", then you know at least and can plan around that. If you needed to get some pads to replace your's, you're not left waiting, unable to ride, because you've got no clue when your pads are going to be arriving. The level of customer service you get should be the same from any place whether you're spending a quid or a grand, just keeping customers informed and being honest goes a long, long way.
  16. If you bought a car, I'd imagine you'd expect to be kept fully in the loop with how long it was going to take, be able to get in contact with the dealer easily, etc...
  17. The back of the pads will probably have a little ring of mank on them - that's where they're touching the piston, and that's what you need to properly clean Soak some tissue/a rag in some meths, then poke it around in the caliper with a small allen key or something. You don't need to push the pistons out or anything, just literally clean the face of them.
  18. If you take the pads out, give the back of them a good clean with some meths and a clean rag, then clean the inside of the brake caliper it should sort it out. Mine does it every now and again, and that always sorts it out.
  19. I'd quite like to try a 24" bike with a higher BB. It seems weird how people want them to do spins and stuff on, but then want really low BBs which makes spins worse? Making a 24" flicky bike have a lower, more stable BB height seems counter-productive. Same way that almost all BMXs now have what would be considered as 'high' BBs, because it makes spins and front wheel tricks a lot nicer. Anyways, nice looking bike
