Bloody hell! Was NOT expecting him to do that! Bloody hell... That was actually surprisingly good. I saw him do the sorta jumpbox going the other way, and thought "probably gonna be a way harsh bail or something", but no...
  2. What'd be the point in that? I can't see a "long low" frame being any better if it's made of steel?

    Why can't it just end?
  4. I just meant that there's been no word of redevelopment of the frame? People love the geo, so I'm guessing they'd just need to beef it up? So if they aren't doing that, there's probably a reason for it? The way Ed "knows all about [the Leeson frame]" suggests that he's involved in the development of it?

Stopped on 1:43 for me too, so I'm guessing it is just 1:43 long? (Y)
  6. Could be why Ashton aren't remaking the ET24?
  7. When you spot bashring marks on your favourite riding spot, and tyre marks on top of bins in towns that you didn't put there, and you wonder who's done them...
  8. How come the lost respect? Anyhoo, the Woodstock is an amazingly nice bike to ride. I rode a Mk.2 prototype last Summer and it felt sooo easy on the back wheel (coming from mod, when most stocks feel like barges). The production models are basically Mk.7's, so the geometry's even better now. It's well worth having a look at it, and it's got a wheelbase closer to what you want than the Leeson that's only going to be about 1030-1035 at most. Mark.
  9. a) It matters to some extent, but Ox-bridge have had to alter their entrance demographics because everyone got pissed off that they were only taking the well-off people, so they've been trying to get a wider percentage of people. If you doing AS and A2 levels, they'll just take the grades from that into account, most likely. 2 people from my school managed to get into Oxford and Cambridge respectively, and we're just a little school - saying that, they're not unconditional offers so they're not out of the woods yet. Ethnicity shouldn't really matter, as under the Discrimination Acts that have been put in place, your origins won't really matter as much as they used to. In fact, they're always eager to take people of non-UK sorta backgrounds (people who aren't caucasians, basically), so you might stand a better chance in that sense. However, you'll always have a better chance if your grades are good. b) You might not enjoy it at all. Nic (Munki) knew someone who went there but had to leave. Basically, try and go on an open day. You really need to to see if you can deal with the attitudes there. The stereotypes people make of Ox-bridge students are more often than not true - arrogant, "Hooray Henry" sorta types, etc. It can be hell. Even though a degree from Oxford carries more weight than one from, say, Lampeter, you've still got to finish the course, and if you're in a shitty environment that demotivates you to work then you're f**ked either way. Just try and go to open days and see which place you like best. A degree will get you a much better chance of getting a job, and on your job app's forms you just say "a 2.1 BA(Hons) degree in yak yak yak" anyway - if they care, they'll ask where from, but a 2.1 in one place is the same as a 2.1 from any other uni. c) I'd take Psychology. It's slightly more suited to the other subjects, and like Sameer said, people will take it more seriously. Plus, from what I've seen from psych students here, it seems like pretty good fun, really. Before you choose - think ahead to what you want to do in uni, check the entry requirements, and see if they have any say on what subjects you should do.
  10. I wouldn't have thought tartybikes would've done, seeing as they've not got a standard credit card system up and running yet, and you ahve to have a license to give credit which they possibly don't have? Is there any way you could set it up with your lbs so they order one in and you pay off gradually?
  11. Re-downloaded, played in Real player. Was so glad when it started playing as a vid! Everyone's doing pics not vids these days :ermm: Was a nice touch though. Anyhoo, yeah, when I manged to see the actual video part I noticed the helmet, T and face, so I recognised him. Wonder why he's on the Pro not the Lite? Hmm... Cool vid anyway, pity it was so short, but still - thanks all the same (Y) Looks like just another great trials thing that's slipped me by.
  12. Got about half way through, said it had finished, and only played first 30 seconds? Who's the T-Pro rider, btw?
  13. Clive seems to say he won't do a lot of stuff (Y) Formerly it was no proper seats, now not putting disc tabs on his forks?
  14. Don't forget when the kits are made up that the parts will be charged closer to trade, so you're effectively paying trade + £_ _ _, if you get me. So even if he paid £600 for it, it won't be worth that much? What length TT is the Miron? Is it long enough relative to how tall you are? Make sure it's all sorted first... Has he cut the bars down?
  15. That's the Ultimate Hardware finishing kit from the Macneil bike package from a pretty big BMX mail order company, isn't it? *can't remember name* If so, you'd better really want to get rid of your bike to get it.
  16. SuperCycles do sell the frame only. I know it's not on their website, but just phone them? 0115 941 11 33. It's short. Damn short. Personally, I don't really like short bikes for comps (having ridden a T-Bone (ultra short), an '02 T-Pro (short) and now my T-Pro (longer)), because they just don't roll over stuff well and aren't as stable, but there we go. If it's available, I'd go for the T-Lite L. My old T-Lite was pretty fly, but just too short for me, really. 980mm-ish wheelbase, with me being 6ft 2" wasn't all shits 'n' giggles.
  17. So, you've got a strong opinion based on something you don't care about? Something you don't care about enough to actually look up at all? Riiight... Why are you going then if you're pissing your pants about how bad it'll be? Why not cancel so someone who might want to go can go?
  18. Some of that post was utter shite. Are you saying we should get rid of the dole as well, or not? You were a bit confusing with the whole "lazy bums that cannot be bothered to work on that are on benifits"? And where did you get all this fantastic information from?

Shit ones. Go to either: www.alansbmx.com www.customriders.com www.winstanleysbmx.com www.broadribbs.co.uk www.supercycles.co.uk or www.google.co.uk and search for BMX shop. Buy ANY of the 10mm axle BMX chain tugs on there and they'll be fine.
  20. Isn't the point that they are protected though? (Y)
  21. Yeah, I thought so. Was like that when trying to get the right 22:1? gearing on the T-Bone. Think I'll just get a new sprocket somehow. It just sucks they're a tenner new, or £20 for a Monty one, or £21 for a Try-All one. *sigh* Thanks all. Hopefully, I'll be swapping my 13 for Mod661's 12, so it should be dandy. Mark.

If he was upstairs in the office, he'd had to have gone downstairs, checked on the shop floor for an old and a new 2004 model, if there wasn't one there he'd had to have gone out into the workshop area or the stock rooms - so yeah, it's easier to go "d'you mean x or y"?

I guess he might not've known if you meant the T-Pro with the fluoro green stickers 'n' shit which was also sold in '04, or the LB-style T-Pro also sold in '04? Anyhoo, the sticky outty bits on the hub don't matter - you run the tensioner on the outside of the dropouts so they don't get near them. Any 10mm axle BMX chain tugs will work for you, by the way.
  24. Hey all, Bought a new wheel, and it's come with a 13t sprocket. Just curious at to whether any riders here run a 13t sprocket? I know what the differences will be (faster acceleration, etc.), but does it work out as being better than 18:12? Thanks, Mark.
  25. At a guess, represents the UK riders as a whole when rule changes are made, comp location choices are made, etc.? Good luck to him either way...
