Does Xtrials have anything to do with X-Street, the trials specific whop thats already in the south (although correct me if i'm wrong i think they may have ceased trading, again something else you have to consider.)

You have been setting up for 6 months and you don't have a website yet? thats something you need to get sorted, its £65 to have unlimited webspace hosted including a domain name. Even if you dont put a site up you at least need a domain address not hotmail, on one will take you seriously, suppliers or customers.

Anyway....... where in the south are you based fella?

hi there,

im guessing you never studied buisiness studies at school?

1: you think you can compete with Tartybikes/Selectbikes/Trials uk? they wont take kindley if your undercutting there prices, specially Select as they are the sole importer of deng into the uk... so how you going to get any stock

2: setting up a shop, not such a good idea? i mean, tarty etc have it set with a warehouse, means running from the website they can advertise online and build a rep, where as if your setting up a shop and using that as your main focus, nobody outside of this forum/hampshire will know about it, so you are missing out on a lot of the trials riding market, i wouldnt want to drive down to hampshire just to pick up a set of cranks etc...

3: You wont be able to offer competative pricing i.e below tarty etc.... with the whole shop thing, it means you have to think about: Rent on the property, council tax, utililty bills, insurance, staff costs, internet/phone. Add that to the initial outlay of setting up shop. shelves, display cabinets, till systems, safe, worshop tools/benches... the list goes on.

Still think you can offer competative prices? Still think it wont plummet leaving you bankrupt in about 4 months after the buzz dies down and everyone goes back to the old favourites?

Think about it mate..

WTF?

It was clearly stated it was dedicated for people in the south, are you in the south? Do you live in Hampshire? No? Why on earth are you complaning?

Tarty is probably closer for you, so just use that then. Don't complain because a new shops opening.

Now go away, grow some pubes and come back when your ready to have a mature conversation.

shut up, how the hell is it a viable option to have a shop dedicated to such a small audience...

Don't cry about it love.

Hampshire is pretty large, if you can read, go find a atlas or map and see (Y)

But it's not big enough to support a pure trials shop when people can buy stuff from Tarty and have it delivered the next day (usually!). I also don't really see any advantage to having a shop to visit. Most components can be purchased without problem online without seeing it in person. Just doesn't seem financially viable...

I dont think its a pure trials shop, i think that it will stock other parks (road, xc maybe) but workrooms you can walk into and use, thats quite cool.

I don't really get why anyone would aim to build a shop that was specificly trials which isn't mainly based for online customers.

I mean, how many trials riders can there be in a 30 mile radius from that shop? But yeah it's all good, can never have to many trials shops. :)

I apologise for the thread's description, we are are store that will be selling our goods online and in a store. But our store won't be available till late 2008, the main idea of a store for us is to store our stock. But if we are going to have premises we think that we should also have some where for customers to purchase goods face to face, use our workshop which will have very useful tools, and a lounge for trials riders to come and relax and socialise.

Thanks for your comments and opinions.

You need pub liability of 5 million or more for a shop...... something you will need to consider, it can be very pricey.

Why not till end of 2008? why you promoting the idea thats a year away, people are just going to think that it never guna happen and give yourself a negative vibe before you have even started.

p.s Just occurred to me and sorry for being cynical but............................................. Are you just saying this to get validated quickly? haha
