so far its: 25% magura up front, 58% maggie on back

51% disc up front , 12% disc on back

13% vee up front , 20% vee on back

So Maguras are the most popular brake by quite a margin still . Impressive for a design that's been largely unchanged for over 15 years at this stage . I'm happy with mine anyway...

'Other' was just a safety net incase I missed one, and you said yourself someone doesn't run a rear brake - so it's only fair to have the option there!

How come people use small/smaller discs on the rear?

180 front 160 rear

Do you just not need the extra power on the rear compared to the front?

I thought alot more people would be more like this,

Can someone please give me a reasonable expaination to this (I've never understood disk brakes fully).

At the min, a vee, super nice, But prefer a disc. but there too much wheel flex. Which is GAY!

im no expert but here i go,generally front brakes are more powerful than rear brakes ,hence why people fly over handlebars when they pull their front brake.

the larger the rotor the more leverage there is to stop the wheel from moving ,so to make the back brake more powerfull some trials riders will use larger rotors to increase the leverage that the brake has.

large rear rotors aren't used in all mountion biking disciplines as the rear brake isnt generally required to stop the rider on its own.

I would have one on the rear but have no disc mount. HS33 is ok but I actually found my old cheap Moe pads to be better than the Zoo pads

Front - Hydro disc (Mag Louise 160mm) plenty hold, and moldation*

Back - 2004 Mag Hs33 Rock Greens on a grind, booster not neaded
