How To Get Freewheel Loud Again?

Recommended Posts

What freewheel is it? If its a cheap one then theres not much point but if its decent then if you don't want it to last as long, take the lockring off and take all the grease out of it. It will make it louder but will wear quicker. So what would you prefere spending £40 or having a loud freewheel?

I'd prefer to drown it in GT-85.

Job done.

Oh yeh there is that but wear a mask, GT85 is heavy stuff.

It's only like wd-40 - a maintenance spray!

And you'll want to be directing the hose that comes with it into all the little cracks and crevices where the freewheel rotates.

Cool - from the factory they have no real lube in them, so if they get wet they can sometimes rust up a tiny bit if they're left wet. That means they don't work quite as well, hence it being a bit quieter. A bit of lube in there should get it back up and running again (Y)

I got a pretty bad head ache from using it once but that was proberly because it was in a small room and it does smell quite nice.

Hummmmmmmmmm hot box with gt-85 ive never tried this.

And in fairness if you use wf40/gt 85 your freewheel goes pretty quiet In my experiance
