Cracked Rockman Bjorn Frame

Hi,

The past few months or so my bike has been creaking somehow, it comes from the Bb or frame near the bb. When I pedal hard it creaks. When I put a hand on each pedal and push it hard sideways it creaks?

It's a rockman bjorn frame, rockman lite cranks and a reset ti bb. Everything's greased up nice and tightened up.

So what can cause the creaking??

Thanks

Erik

Found these crack in my frame the other day, that may explain the creaking.

Send the pictures to rockman but only got one reply with the answer, where did you buy the frame?

after replying that, no answers for a week or so?

Yeah i have this same problem. On my old bike czar my bb began creak really bad and lately i have bought a new frame and swaped the bb over and as i expected the creacking carried on but just lately i have had to buy a new bb and it was fine for say a week or so, not a sound and now it creaks as bad as my old mine. but i dont know why?

-take the cranks off and bb out,

-clean all the threads

- grease the bb up,

-rub a slight bit of grease on the threads,

-put the bb back in make sure it's tight,

-clean the splines on the bb and inside the cranks,

- tighten the cranks on,

should do the trick, if not, check for cranks on your frame.

Grease everything.

BB/ Crank splines

Pedal threads (copper anti seize)

BB threads

Lube your chain

Grease your pedals bearings.

Grease the area on your headset cups that sits inside the headtube too as well as the bearings.

Should stop it.

BB bearing death generally manifests itself as a sort of 'popping' noise when you're pedalling, whereas a creak is usually something a bit loose or dry getting it's rub on. Strip and re-grease everything - if it continues, it could be a sign something (such as the frame) has cracked.

Could well be the dropout crack...

My Yaabaa suddenly started creaking, spent ages looking and changed out a bottom bracket in a gravel car park to find it didn't solve anything.

Ended up removing the chainstay protector and found the chainstay wasn't attached to the dropout any longer.
