Anyone know about these? Good or bad? Do you know the geometry?

A friend wants a cheap build and I thought this might be ok?

I’m not sure of the geo but I remember them well. Short, low bb and slack HA. The earlier ones were weak around the bb. I guess it depends what they want from their first bike - if they are used to mountain bikes they could be a good starting point to ease into trials. They are nothing like modern comp bikes, they are closer to street trials bikes so bear that in mind depending on the style of riding they are looking to do. They will be harder on the rear wheel than anything you can buy today but quite stable on 2 and if they are starting off and use this to get the basics down anything modern after will feel like a breeze.

Thanks Matt. Yes I actually think the short and low geo could be a good point. I had read somewhere about the frames being weak. Not sure is this is an early or late frame?

Think that’s an early frame. Geo is around 1045 , 0 , 390 , 71.5

I think they used to crack on the chain stay

they were the same Chinese thing as a Mission Reefer. Of which everyone I knew who had one cracked the chain stay. I did 2 myself.

Aside from that they aren't bad frames! Cheap as chips and lots of fun for a low budget build.

Goes without saying dont use the disc mount either...

Akrigg is an alien. No one should ever buy a bike expecting to ride like him as he is an alien. They will be disappointed when they realise they are not also an alien.

Probably not, only thing I noticed differently is the head tube and the colour. Guessing you know a bit more about the differences?

Ah, I mean he used to go through them like underwear, rather than different frames being in the photos.

There was a massive plie of broken ones when I used to work at Supercycles back in the day.

God, supercycles. What a shop.

I bought my first T-Raptor from there, most exciting day ever!
