  1. It can go in the same envelope as my feckin cranks..... save on postage, why waste money on such a bellpiece!! Davey
  2. I am now going to cry in the corner. They took over a week to arrive, and when I got my package I got all excited that I could finally get out on my 20incher.... and now it's probably gonna take another week AT LEAST to sort out!! I wnet to them because they had what I wanted cheaper than anyone else, and as it's just a mess about bike I don't wanna spend top dollar on it... but lesson learned, WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN!!! Davey
  3. Didn't even think of pedal threads, christ! They are USELESS!!!!! Davey
  4. Ok, so it's taken over a week but my new cranks have finally arrived from Trialsshop.co.uk for my recently aquired T-Pro 2003! But, the muppets have sent me 2 drive side cranks, both have bashguard splines and freewheel thread (is it that hard to get right, seriously)! So anyway, I don't think this will make any difference but a friend seems to think it will/the might not fit! Is he going mad, because I figure if it fits on the drive side it'll fit on the non-drive side...... who's right? Davey

    Kmc Chains

I agree, it's a no brainer! Just stick a decent heavy duty chain on and quit trying to save such a stupidly minute amount of weight at the expense of the flesh on your face when your poncy lightweight chain snaps and launches you nose first into the concrete!!! Davey
  6. Hmm, tar smears around a bit, I'm guessing he's taken somthing metal and pointy to 'em! Davey
  7. That bashguard is feckin sexual! What is it? I may throw away my super pro-trials bashguard and go buy whatever that is just so I can sit and look at it all day!! Davey
  8. Looks like a pretty sweet street machine! What are those radial marks on your rims? Do they improve braking at all, I've never seen that before (not a fan of defacing rims myself. Grinding seems to work quite well but I'd rather leave my rims as god intended.... so to speak)! Davey
  9. Well I've had mine 5 years or so now, they've never leaked or bust accept the TPA's don't work but I don't use them anyway. They still feel as good as they did when I bought them, work beautifully with NO GRIND and NO TAR just kool stop pads and good clean rims! And I still say Raceline's are the best looking brakes money can buy Davey

    Live On!

The old school needs a seat, without a seat just doesn't work because the frame is too big! Slap a seat on it and it's the winner!!! Davey
  11. I agree, we're men, men bash stuff (insert cave man ug ug here)!! My old Raleigh got the cliff treatment which is rather spectacular! Take bike to nearest most savagely deadly cliff face, launch bike off side of cliff, watch as bike tumbles and spins frantically over jaggedy rocks.... pure caveman pleasure, only a massive explosion at the end could make it better!!!! However after climbing down and retreiving it, the damn thing was still rideable So there you have it, Raleigh, strong a f**k! Davey
  12. This is the only site I can find selling Outlands, I got mine from my LB. But these are the magnesium one's which are more expensive...... niec and light though http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/rangeViewer.asp?categoryID=195 Sorry I can't be of more help! Davey
  13. Bit of a personal question, I wouldn't know you'd have to ask my missus
  14. I've had the same set of outland pedals on my bike since pretty much the dawn of time... ok not that long, but about 4 years, never serviced them, and they still run smooth as anything, they're slightly bigger than V8's too, and pins are all still there!!! Hmm, starting to think I just don't ride hard enough, haha! Davey
  15. Haha, I can't believe in a thread about removing cranks only one person has mentioned crank removing tool, and other people are talking about setting fire to things, HAHAHAHA!!! Park tool, screw in the outer bit into the crank arm, wind away, it'll get hard to turn, take a mallet to it, work taht crank off nice and slow, no bashing your expensive crank with a hammer or burning the bloody thing (christ, extreme aint you you lot!!!)!! Cheapest Bb

Check out selectbikes.com, they do a V cheap one, not sure how strong it is but worth a try, let us know how it goes if you do! Davey
  18. Not sure if this has been done, couldn't find anything, I thought it would be useful to have a reference for this. If you have snapped your frame/forks/cranks or whatever and tried to get a replacement courtesy of the manufacturer, let us know how it went, were they helpful, did you get a replacement, were they rude/unreasonable, if so we can avoid them. Lets face it, parts break, but the manufacturers know what they are making the parts for, so saying they only warranty for "normal day-to-day use" or whatever just doesn't wash with me!!! Davey
  19. Haha, Spacemunkee, your profile pic is even more hypnotic than mine!!!!
  20. Don't assume that because it's the same setup it will work the same front and back. 4 bolt does make a difference (well it bloody well should or what's the point) and also at the back when the brakes are pulled the rim is pushing them back into the frame which is good and strong, but at the front it is pulling them away from the forks which is not as rigid! But all the above advice helps, either that or get a set of forks with rear mounting brakes Davey

    Gear Ratios

No, you are imagining things, haha. 22/18 is closer to 22/19 than 20/16. Here's why: You currently run 22/19. This means for every turn of the cranks your wheel turns 1.157 times. The lover the revs the easier the gear. So compare that with the other ratios 22/19 is 1.157 revs 22/18 is 1.222 revs 20/16 is 1.250 revs As you can see above, 22/18 is closer to what you run at the moment than 20/16. If you ran 20/16 you might find it was too hard compared to what you're used to, but you might find it suits you better, you might be able to do larger gaps etc, so give both ratios a go and see what's best!!! Hope that all made sence, let me know if not! Davey
  22. I love Pashley's, wish I could afford one! Colour scheme is great if you're a West Ham supporter !! Davey
  23. Thanks for all the nice comments guys, I guess my oldschool influence does show after all, I am glad (always wanted El Gato's, never had the cash, was well chuffed to see they still made them)!!! Valid point about the front tyre though, any suggestions as to what I could chuck on there without spoiling the look of the bike? Is there an IRC XC tyre with red walls?..... should I stop being so lazy and just go look for myself?...... ok I will!! It rides like a dream, I mean I've only ever owned 2 proper trials bikes so it's hard to compare. But say I'm going to plant the back wheel onto a wall from a standstill, and I'll be sure that I haven't given it enough and I'm gonna come up short and make a horrible mess of the bashguard (I know that's what it's there for but it's pretty so I prefer not to use it) well the bike just seems to find the top of the wall of it's own accord and I'm left wondering how the hell I pulled it off......... it's that good! Davey
  24. Had this a few months now but it was in need of some upgrading. So new back wheel courtesy of Tall Rob and to sort out my chain tention I slapped my old middleburn ring back on with a bigger sprocket. I was at the point before where I couldn't make the chain shorter but it was too long, so it was 16-12 but it's now 20-15, which happens to be the exact same ratio but better tension! BEFORE AFTER The tension, it is lovely, no more skipping chain on that poxy little 12t sprocket... but don't buy a DMR tensioner, the linear spring just bends under too much strain, pants! Let me know what y'all think! Davey
  25. This thread is like bicycle PORN. In fact, I say we change the thread title to just that!!!!! Pass us the tissues! Davey
