  1. Then I guess from this list I've randomly hooked off the net, she could have a common cold, normal flu, respiratory infection, bronchitis, pneumonia, viral infection, bacterial infection, fungal infection, asthma, inhaled irritant, allergies, the list goes on. Also, I think there's an element of drama queen crossed with bandwagon with a lot of f**kers at the moment. I reckon if you had any of the above and went to the doctor, he/she would get the swine flu stamp out straight away.
  2. When a kid is old enough to understand the reasons why a certain action is dangerous or wrong to the degree where they won't do it again, or at least consider their actions before acting, smacking is abuse. This is down to a judgement call though really, by the parents. If the parents are stupid then it's far easier to carry on smacking.
  3. I think you can drive at 15 in NZ, but irrespective of this, I don't think that pushing the boundaries of a speed limited is the best parallel to smacking a child anyway to be honest....
  4. I see what you're saying however I think that parents that smack their kids regularly and for the slightest little thing are 1) stupid as it'll have less of an affect when you're really trying stop your child from doing something as they'll see it as a regular event, and 2) child abusers, although it's near impossible to draw the line legally.
  5. It is rubbish. There's a big difference between smacking and child abuse. If you see a small child licking a plug socket you give them a smack rather than trying to explain rationally that plug socket = bzzzap as they won't understand. From then on they'll associate said plug socket with negative stimuli and be more wary of it. I think as children get older and more understanding it becomes a little less acceptable, however where do you draw the line when infants mature and advance their communicative skills at different rates? The same debate was bouncing around the headlines a few years ago in Britain and it was decided that it was acceptable as long as it didn't leave any visible damage. This is currently under scrutiny again I think.
  6. Regina Spektor - Eet. Awesomeness. Her new album isn't bad.
  7. Right, ok mate. Cheers! Fingers crossed this is going to be an easy fix.
  8. The new hdd is in the post and I've got software ready for when it arrives. I was just curious as to whether it is normal for the computer to go ape-shit bleeping when the current hdd is missing or broken. I thought normally it just said 'operating system not found' and that was it.
  9. Greetings people. I have an Acer laptop (Aspire 5920G not that it matters) which I dropped a while ago. The impact f**ked the hdd but I'm not sure whether there's anything else wrong with it. I've popped the hdd out as I'm planning on replacing it, but when I start the thing up, it gets to the 'operating system not found' screen and it just makes loads of mad f**king bleeps. It's as if there's a key stuck down or something. I've gone into the set up screen and messed about with the boot order and things like that and it doesn't do it at that particular stage. My question really is just whether this noise could be indicative of something else major being wrong. Oh yeah, sometimes the 'operating system not found' starts repeating down the page too. Thanks for reading my terribly worded post.
  10. Looking in a rather enhanced state of relaxation there Ryan.
  11. I'm tempted to go straight edge and push it on you.
  12. I reckon you're thinking of this guy: and I don't think he travels much. (the short one, before there's any confusion)
  13. This is quite varied and interesting. I'm doing a similar qualification with them. After the certificate there's the diploma and then you get to choose between studying their professional level stuff to become a chartered company secretary (not someone who answers phones and stuff, it's a £60k - £six figure position usually) or doing their masters programme. The masters programme also makes you a chartered company secretary, but there's additional stuff making it far harder.
  14. I get your point, but still. Screw the wheel base, still needs a fucking seat .
  15. I think it looks pretty nice, although a 24 doesn't look quite right without a seat.
  16. Getting sleepy Onza whatever Awake Bye.
  17. That might be the case where you're from, but certainly not in the UK.
  18. You'd be very unlucky to be done for it.
  19. This isn't really technical support, but PC related. A girl I work with is after a laptop that looks nice . She wants something in pink or red, but I can't find something that's a reasonable spec for the price where the colour is customisable other than the Vaio VGN-CS21S.
  20. I use green rock pads and they're f**king mint in the dry; shite in the wet though. Doesn't really bother me as you'll never catch me riding in the rain.
