    Whats Your Job?

I've got three (i think) jobs: Driver's mate on a low loader. Mainly consists of sitting in the cab passing comment on crap drivers, and sweating like MJ in a nursery shifting ramps and planks. I'm also expected to be able to look after whatever we're shifting, usually steam engines. Pay is almost non existant, but its good hard work, keeps me in trim :) Gardener at home, we've got a flipping huge yard and i get to bum around in it being close to nature and getting paid :D Machinist, there's a workshop here and i seem to spend most of my time keeping other people's bikes/cars/steam engines running. Pays whatever i can get from them after ive bought tools. No pressure, not much money, lots of smiles. I wouldn't work in the co-op for all the tea in china (Y)
  7. tensiles, to my knowledge, have been out 2 years. It was their first design, and for a first design it was bloody good. middleburn have been making cranks for 15 years, the RS7's have been around for about 5. Theyve had time to get the design right, and particularly in the earlier days far fewer people jumped and shouted about them breaking. my burns are 2 years old, they still look fine, the tensiles in that pic have been abused in a fashion that would have killed a set of middleburns too. tensiles are cheaper and more versatile than burns, backed up just as well, and will withstand rough treatment far better.
  8. Get the steerer extended, i've had a set running with a pretty advanced rider for over a year now in perfect safety.
  9. quit you flange I think i can speak for myself, sidehop and paul :P ;)

    I Have...

respecting stupidity is the new emo fashion is it? :P
  16. 13 on rear is a bit harder 14 on rear is a lot lighter
  17. you dont have the slightest idea of sarcasm or humour do you? go and die, preferably somewhere out of my sight and do it quietly.
  18. Do you keep the clutch down while you go from whatever forward gear you were in to reverse?
  19. try putting it in fifth, or first, or any of the other gears first, that will stop the first shaft spinning, then it should go silently into reverse.
  20. when you heel and toe, you've still got your foot on the brake, and are under some sembelance of control, as opposed to when you shift your foot across to the loud pedal to blip it, you're freewheeling and not on the brakes. As well, you can brake more gently cos you are braking for longer. Its just a nice smooth way to do things, and something else to learn and perfect. After driving vehicles with syncro boxes and without, i'd rather have without, simply because you actually have to use your mind (Y)
