Hmmm, the tubes heat up and the geo changes, but then they cool down and go almost exactly back to where they were before, so I dont really know what you're worried about. Bearing in mind that you can run a ring of weld around a 1" tube in one go with an arc welder, and still be able to pick it up about 4 inches back from the weld when you're done, it doesnt get *that* hot anyway. Large bits of box section make good jigs, wood works in large enough sections but will always be changing its dimensions depending on air humidity. Have a look on curtis' website, there's a few good shots of their jig, there are also some decent pics on goatbike's site.
  3. Random fact: sidehop can't make links work (Y)
  4. Tighten your cranks. 8mm allen key usually.
  5. I dont think anyone wouldve moaned if they'd said "we've got this new hub, its very promising but we're not happy with it yet, give us untill christmas and we'll have it sorted" rather than "yeah, definately june/july/august/chrismas/doomsday". Its just a bit frustrating, thats all :-
  6. When in doubt, leech off fatmike :D :P

I've eaten my dinner off smaller plates than that front disc on your bike mark :) Can't even concieve how to get a up a wall that big either :P
  8. we've got slightly more chance of proving he's an insensitive moron though :(
  9. 103 is one hell of an innings :( Funerals aren't good, I had to go to my uncle's a few weeks ago :D Got to go and see my tutor about sacking uni off, thats not making me especially happy either :)
  10. Its usually a bit better if the object is a little higher, say three pallets. Puts you in a more 'vertical' position and you can stay on the backwheel easier. I've found the best way is front brake on, rear brake off, then push down hard and spring the forks and front tyre, gives you a bit more lift. When you get on higher stuff, it also helps to turn the bike to bring your back foot closer to the wall/pallets/whatever, then you can tuck the bike in closer to the object (Y)
  11. Might be able to sort you out, email me or add me to msn <_<
  12. Pictures of matchstick men - Ozzy Osbourne (Status Quo) Its great ^_^ Orgy's version of Blue Monday kicks arse too <_<
  13. Just personally, horizontal dropouts have given me more grief than everything else combined. I wouldnt have them, just like you avoid curtis like the plague since your forks broke (Y)
  14. Grinding flat spots on isnt usually necessary in my experience, the two pawl pockets are enough to get hold of in the vice or with some stillsons.
  15. You have to get it seriously hot to boil it (100 degrees funnily enough :-), unless you think you'll be hammering down the alps sometime soon, it'll be fine.
  16. Discs can get hot enough to boil water, thats all. For trials, water is fine.

    Mavic D321

It IS a DX32, only difference is Brant is pocketing the profit rather than anyone else.
  19. Clean it out properly with some detergent/degreaser/alcohol/whatever, then threadlocker on the threads and put the fixed cup in TIGHT (as in leaning on a 2 foot socket bar). Dont go too mad on the other side cup, cos it can bugger the bearings if too tight. And leave it overnight for the threadlock to set, should be sorted (Y)
