  1. yeah, its an alloy, a mixture, call it what you want. If it was a compound it would be a ceramic.....
  2. General opinion seems to be that porsche engines are just as good as any other german motor, damn near bombproof, remember that 9FF use a standard block and crank in their 750 BHP specials, so its going to be fairly reliable in the standard trim. If you havent looked already, try and find the evo magazine road tests, i've found they seem to speak the truth
  3. WOW f**king hell where's the waiting list?????? :shifty:
  4. Since when have baseless insults been the answer to more insults? As far as i can see theyre bothered that a few people cycling on the path gives the rest of them a bad image, we suffer from the same problem with the few twats who consider ploughing their bash into a stone wall a good way to spend an afternoon.
  5. yep, you have to be stupid. works a charm.....
  6. yep, thats the simple answer, but it aint the one he's looking for unfortunately. IF its any help, we had bother with a base where we couldnt get a booster to fit, and ended up making one :'(
  7. powerpad backings I retract my comment :'(
  8. Wouldnt bank on it, the BT/viz/whatever hubs are basically a copy of the bikegas ones, just with more clearance. American classic hubs weigh naff all too, quick spider has one for sale in the buy/sell bit :D
  9. Megamo hubs are known to have that problem, they were designed around the old single piston louise caliper, so the clearance is much less than the ISO standard. Anything modern will have the right amount of clearance :D
  10. thats a marta on rav's bike, and they do make pads for those :P

Giro E2, one of the special edition ones from last year getting slow in my old age.... (Y)
  12. and if anyone wants one cheap....... (Y)"
  13. Get a leeson, curtis, whatever, but please please please keep the colour, its fecking gorgeous (Y)
  14. Fluid expands when it gets hot, on a closed system it'll eventually lock the brakes up solid, not desirable when your bombing down a hillside. And the other way, it lets the system adjust for pad wear.
  15. So you come on here and ask a pretty f**king obvious question about doing summat thats useful, but illegal. You were never gonna get a pat on the back and a free membership of mensa so go calm down.
  16. They do if someone's been hurt or killed, and the ones round here tow anything if theyve got the slightest suspicions about it.
  17. so you prang it, end up unconcious, coppers get called, haul the ped in because its in the way, then have a good look around it, find its de restricted, and we're back to you getting your insurance and liscense revoked. Is it really worth it?
  18. Its only embarrasing if your slow as f**k, which i'd imagine you will be  hmm, im sure the cap was all we took out of the last ped we fiddled with, then again it was some dodgy italian thing with gears and not much of an expansion chamber, so it probably didnt matter. Fact is, you prang a de-restricted scooter, and the police turn up, the DSA will have your bollocks for breakfast, so you'll be back to riding on the bus again :)
  19. 126mm rear axle is your first problem Read This plus think to yourself, if they were so brilliant, why are there ten million of the things on ebay? :P"
  20. Because they can, they hold the master patents, they have a monopoly, and we keep giving them our money :P
  21. The one in the pic is a bit older than that as i remember, about 2000, when they made hubs and quick releases.
  22. yeah, its usually a cap in the top of the carb, it can be put back in at convenient times (Y)"
  23. suppose the bicycle was quite revolutionary (Y)"
