  1. Yeh they'll fit fine. (As long as your current sprocket/freewheel clears the BB). Be aware you need an internal headset though! And check your current rim width and mount spacing to check it'll work, should be fine but worth checking.
  2. It'd be a bargin at £300, they're loverly frames.
  3. Ozonys. I dunno if Ali had one but Stan Shaw did, and he seemed to like it.
  4. Is his tensile knackered? I had two bikes at one point and had a Monty on one and a Tensile on the other. The tensile was louder, felt stiffer and didn't skip at all, whereas the Monty skipped a couple of times in the two weeks I had both mods.
  5. I've looked into it last time I had my hub apart, it's not that simple. There are 3 sealed bearings in the drive shell, two of them are touching each other in the recess on the inside taking the stress of the rachet mechanism. I reckon you'd need to only have one bearing in there, then a small shoulder seperating it from the outer bearing in order to but it down the 25mm it need lopping off without having to render the disc mount useless. I'm pretty certain that, if I remember right, you'd need to make a new drive shell if you want to use the disc mount. EDIT: What would the die be for? You'd need a tapp if you could get one the right pitch and diameter, but it be far easier just to use the auto advance on the lathe.
  6. I do, it's a long though.
  7. Well it's been pointed out several times already, you would have thought he'd notice. Probably best just to ignore me, I'm dead grumpy today, everything I'm trying to get done at the moment is taking for ever.
  8. There are 20" street frames, they're called BMXs... Seriously though, couldn't you use a BMX frame and build a trials/BMX hybrid thing?
  9. There was a woman who rode road bikes with my Dad's club, spent 3 months in intensive care 2 years ago because she crashed whilst wearing a helmet. Imagine if she wasn't...
  10. Designing my adapter thing up now, just let me know if you want one making and I'll see if I've got enough spare material.
  11. Read the title? Worst TRIALS Bike Ever. The clue is right there....
  12. From watching your videos, Danny Mac smoother than you are, and he's riding an inspired, and you ride mod frames. The Inspired is designed to 360 of stairs, it weighs like 2.2kg and is a much stronger shape than most mod frames. The main difference between all the aluminium alloys is cost, 6061 is weaker than 7005, but is lighter. (But when you compare the weight saving to drop in stregnth, it's not worth it really.) 7075 is very hard to weld, or impossible, I can never remember... Either way theres a reason it's never used in frames. You didn't mention U6? Not exactly sure of the stats but I think form memory that it's the best compromise of 6061 and 7005? If you make a super strong aluminium frame, it will almost definately be lighter than a steel frame of the same stregnth, and it will be stiffer. Otherwise they'd just make downhill bikes out of steel, they have very thick tubes and loads of gussets, but they still build them out of aluminium.
  13. I have this exact problem with a set I am currently trying to buy. I am going to make an adapter that screws into the fork using the thread designed for the top cap thing, and has an M5 thread so you can use a normal topcap and bolt. If I can get it made, I will see if I have enough material to make two, and if I can I could make one for you aswell? If not I'll send you the design and you could get someone like Edd Potts to make it for you. It may be a week or two before I get it sorted out though I'm afraid, will keep you posted though.
  14. On a Chrome rim they'd be pretty insanely bitey if you ask me!
  15. Depends what frame you have and what sort of riding you do?
  16. It's complicated, you've got to completely re-engineer the drive shell and axle for it to work properly.

    Face Plant!

Looks like your face didn't hit it? Just tapped the peak on your helmet. I've done something similar, peaks still broken, it flaps up and down when I hop.
  18. The helicoil kit comes with a special tap, it's not 6mm it's about 5.7 or something I think. I'm pretty certain that this is the case anyway...
  19. Just the first one. Nah I'd probably get up, realise I was a bird, have some toast, do some coding, come on here and tell everyone i was a lady now, do some more coding, then maybe jump on the spot to see how my bits jiggled, then find out why long baths that make you stink are so good, then have an early night.
  20. 5'11", I ride stock now. You've got a front maggy and a rear disc? Kinda the wrong way round IMO.
  21. It does look pretty gay. (Smart though!) Can't be much good for normal road riding or long distances?
  22. Who cares, these topic is only ever going to end in argument... Anyway it's blatently obvious, the worst TRIALS bikes are Missions and Shoguns. The end. Most of the bikes in here aren't trials bikes...
  23. It can be done, but not very easily, my mate brought a mod frame over to my house once in a 60 litre sack and about 8-9 inches of it was stick out the top.
