you will find that trek are one of the biggest bike companies on the planet, they have ultimate resources, from wind tunnels to extremly good knowledge with frame materials, its certainly not market bull as they took a frame to a trek uni day at stirling on wednesday and cut it up along with many carbon frames, so they did invent it and do own all rights to it, hence why no one else can use. i am unsure why you think its unlikely trek invented the material, you obviously dont know how big they are in the cycling industry. also on this uni day they only found one other manufacturers carbon frames that were better then theirs, colonago frames, however after a quick phonecall they found that colonago get their carbon from FERRARI. so yea, my two cents
  4. if i am correct in thinking u mean DAMON WATSON from hull, one of the most awesome riders going, been riding less than two years, yes TWO years, glad you guys had a good ride wish i could have made it, aberdeen is around 12-14 hours drive, haaha cheers ben

righty guys, was having a chat with my boss at work, and a trek rep today on the phone, basically ZR9000 would be a great material for trials, its super dent resistent, very light, and uber strong, i know im contradiciting my first post, but this is a confirmation of facts now. However, trek and gary fisher, are the only people who are allowed to use this material, must be their design (trek own gary fisher) and the base material, Zinc i think it is, is super for frame building, however the downside. expensivio, not so much as ti, but still very expensive to manufacture and as trek dont make any trials bikes, i cant see it happening anytime soon for trials frames. anyway, thought i woulc confirm something cheers ben

i dont think the zr9000 that trek use for there top of the range XC bike would be that ideal for trials, as adam said, firstly they tubes are thin, and by this i mean uber thin, secondly its a very expensive material to put together, im unsure exactly on the method of construction but it is expensive, however i wouldnt think it were as expensive as titanium to put otgether. i would say that zr9000 is a good tubing material for frames, however there are reasons why companies use certain materials for certian bikes. for example the stresses and forces applied to a trials bike is very different from say DH or XC. So as ZR9000 tubing was designed for lightweight XC bikes i think it should stay that way, with XC bikes. cheers ben
  8. hey whoever said use a spring washer on ur crank bolt! why the hell would u do this, surely there is no reason for this what so ever, why does this guy need a space in between his bolt and his crank. please enlighten me, because i would have thought if a spacer were to be put in between crank and bolt it would already be on the bolt or with his cranks. cheers ben
  9. for some reason i really like this picture, maybe its my mate spencers super lowering on his bike, some ace piccys so far, get some more up ben sorry its pretty massivio
  10. well who ever said the livestrong ones arent made by nike im sure ull find your very mistaken, lance is sponsored heavily by nike, as they paid a lot of money towards lances foundation and toward his recovery treatment for his death defying recovery from cancer (brain lung and testicle) (at the same time). so im very positive they are made by nike. sure it will say on www.laf.com or www.wearyellow.com these being the two sites they talk about them most cheers ben
  11. hahaah adam u porker, sort them pallets out, howd u make them wobble like that haha sorry off topic,
  12. i have done 6 pallets (probably 5 on all blue ones like on tartys video) with both feet forward ( to be seen on my new video when its out) and to be honest, tartys explaination seems perfect to me, although i probably dont pre-load that much, hmm not sure ill let u know next time im out, the video shows pretty much the right kind of thing to be doing as well cheers ben
  13. i found having your tyres at a lower pressure, made it much easier, i can do fairly high wheel swaps, but having been practicing them switch (let foot forward) and found the spring of a lower pressure tyre did help me. also i found its alot to do with upper body strength, so just keep practising is my true advice cheers ben

  16. hope u guys enjoy this absolutely f**king awesome, http://www.santoalt.com/videos/corey_martinez.php cheers ben
  17. well i reckon a ronnie, they are super strong and work last. if u have had a koxx rim then dont get a viz rim the two are the same rim almost i found the viz rim to be just as crap for holding grinds etc as a koxx rim. meh my opinion ben
  18. some riders have decided upon tubeless for their bikes. probably weighs the same as a decent tube, but however it apparantly works if u do it correctly. so what do u think of what has happened since u have been away ezza? ben oh and people have only learned to spell properly because there is now a spell checker on one/if not all the skins ben
  19. i was using standard magura oil, i know its the best stuff to use if you bleed your brake correctly cheers for the chat guys, i managed to fix it now, host had just popped off and its all gravy. cheers ben
  20. dj was killed, or is that over a year now!!! he was hit in a hit and run, see many peoples signatures and posts all over t-f, see his personal page where you can leave memories. buy his t-shirts etc maybe you knew that but it shook the trials forum in a big way and many people ride in memory of him ben
  21. my magura explodes, but lets go back and ill tell you a little story................ yesterday i receive a phone call from another rider (non-forum) saying, aye min me feckin freewheel has broke, so i ask him to come round and i fix it, while he waits he is riding another guys bike and breaks his magura hosing. f**k, day ruined for him, it didnt touch a thing just decided to pack in and break. then today another mate is riding along and hops up a kerb, kaboom onto his back on the kerb, day ruined his plastic magura hosing goes as well with no replacement we head home and thats that. tonight about half an hour ago, i am riding, thinking about snapping the hosing. after doing some decent drop gaps and some big ups, i pick up confidence to go for a front to back on a rail. now a front to back is the move where you hop into your front wheel then to your back, for an example see a craig lee scott video or a engage vid. and you will see how crazy this looks on a rail. im trying this move after getting pretty good at it, after a few failures i finally make it, and land nicely, few more fails and another good attempt, then i think hmmm, one more, so i go for it, make it to back wheel and on landing, my brake lever reaches the handlebar and i fall. what the f**k im thinking then i look, my braided hosing has snapped. now why the f**k does three go in the space of 24 hrs. its crazy. so to the point what hosing do you reccomend, i am thinking either back to standard hosing or looking at goodridge or hope. i have tried magura hosing, which is what has just snapped. whats your thoughts cheers guys ben p.s sorry for babbling

wayne, i think that would be a cool idea, having a koxx - days type thing in england would be ace, if we get the right spot, its a tad hard for me to get to france living in aberdeen but somewhere in england would be ideal, i should think i would like to go to that. cheers ben
  24. to be honest id like to know your sources before you post stuff like this. you may well be telling the truth, but where did you find this information and why dont you share the link etc (if its a website) i know he is still riding for aire valley ben
