  1. In my experience, all these guides mean shit. What trails do you ride? If you have a big roll in, you wont need to pedal much. If its a flat out pedal into them, you'll need totally different gearing!
  2. Could also be a worn chain/ sprocket. 'a skipping feeling' is a bit vague...does it skip or not? You'll know if it does surely?
  3. Dont forget a GP is a 'general' practisiner (or whatever)... Nothing beats advice from people who do the same sport who have had similar injuries!
  4. I re-cut the threads in my DMR (steel) after cross-threading it. Was fine for another 3 odd years and 2 BB's. I guess if its ally, its a different story though.....
  5. Just use decent spokes and nipples! My first ever wheel build lasted on my downhill bike for 2 years, then my old trials bike for another year. Only got rid as I quit biking for a while.
  6. I love midnight riding. Every where's quiet, no-one screaming at you...its ace! Im a bit of a photograper too, so Ill drive to London, take pics of the sights till 11:00pm or so, then bust out the bike and ride as long as I can! Ive been there till 5-6-7am before! I used to do it after clubbing too...only if I was driving like. But Id drop everyone off then go round my home town on the bike. Its ace!
  7. Haha. No cast though! Just a mega scar. Mind you, I do quite like the 'Ive got 5 hard screws in me...do you want one' chat up line!
  8. Plus you'd get ranodoms joining up JUST to sell stuff.
  9. Anything. The more you ride, the more confidence you get on your bike. Dont really matter what order you learn stuff in, just get the hours down. And dont go mega straight away! You can spend plenty of time on a kerb, or a pallet or a small foot high wall. The gradually work up. In all honesty though, i find it easier twisting off bigger stuff.
  10. How do you guys stop yourself going mad while injured?? Im getting really f**king depressed at the mo. Ive been on crutches for 6 weeks, and have another 3-4 left. Its doing my head in. Nothing seems to cheer me up at the mo. Any suggestions?!
  11. Totally. None of this custom trials shit, it was all real MTB's. Showed who the REAL riders were.
  12. Orange Zero Revell 300S GT Lopes 4X Giant ATX990 (retro!) Wethepeople BMX
  13. Ive run 24's for 5-6 years no and never had any issues!
  14. http://youtube.com/watch?v=tmx4fX3sg0U Check this dude out...f**king sick!!!
  15. I used to have my own rig. Was sorry to see it go, but funds were needed elsewhere! Still got thousands of records. Mainly old skool stuff...I cant keep up with all the new genre's of music! Gimme '99 happy hardcore anyday. I shall pass your mix on....
  16. Im a vinyl man myself....CDJ's and what not are too crisp for my liking, and electro isn't my era, but its a damn good mix non-the-less! Perfect club stuff! Get that demo cd sent off! Do you have your own transport?
  17. Thats a ruuude colour scheme! Nice one!
  18. Why apologise for something you cant help?
  19. For that price, a DMR all the way.
  20. Youl need the throttle linkage, an electric fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator and most importantly, a few hours on the rolling road to get em set up (youl be looking about £150 for a proper re-jet and set up). to be honest, your better off getting the 34/36 Webber from an AxGT, getting an KnN airfilter whihc comes with a larger main jet. Spend £50 getting that tuned up and you'll notice more go. With no other head work, your wasting your money on the 40's...its no good being able to get all that extra fuel/air mixture in the chambers if it wont burn properly, and you cant get rid of it quick enough. To maximise them, youd need a 285 cam, portin' and polishing of the head, a 4branch and decent exhaust system. Itll go faster without, but its a lot of money for not much more. Oh, and btw...twin 40's sound the tits.... I worked/built TU series engines for years, so know them inside out! EDIT...just remembered....the carb of a 1.9 citroen BX GT fits....with some tweakage of the throttle cable, they go like stink. But the GT ones are rare as f**k 2nd EDIT...back to your original question...yes Solex's are wank...the diaprams (sp) are shit, the floats stick and you struggle to find re-build kits for them. (sorry bout the essay btw)
  21. www.frappr.com do them for the whole country. Ive got one on my site and it works pretty well. Its got the whole world on it too... Check it out... http://www.frappr.com/28dayslater
  22. Ive ridden 24's on 26 frames....but like f**k Id weld new brake bosses on Im not doubting your welding, but you know how thin chainstays are? Your gonna have to be mega careful you don't blow a hole in them. And imagine if it not perfect and you get a load of pigeon shit.....and it lets go ontop of a 10ft drop. I think poo would come out and teeth might snap off. I know it looks a bit wank, but when I used to ride BMX, if the rear didnt have V mounts, you'd cut the chainstays off a MTB frame so you have the mounts and brace and jubilee clip it to the back end. job done.
  23. Slamming into the face of the landing of a rather large double. Took the head tube off and cracked the fork brace too! The wheel was still perfect...good old 48hole Halo's! haha
