Best demo vid I've seen, nice.

How can they NOT be better than the new Maguras?
-
I didn't notice anything until Spencer did lol. Editor has just flipped the clip for no reason at all, the next clip of Danny he's riding the opposite way. I only learned as much as the 180 degree rule in media

I don't think I'd wanna know if I come 17th out of 17 lol.

All I will say is learn absolutely every aspect of geometry & the effect it has, even stuff that won't apply so much to your frame. It's pretty disappointing to get a frame through the post after weeks of waiting & planning only to find you didn't know as much as you thought you did & didn't research properly and have a frame that's perfectly made to your misguided specification! I've learned my lessons now.

I said it in the other topic, and I'll say it here.. I love the skills, never get tired of backflips on trials bikes, love the location, move at 50 secs was insane. But it's like Disney produces their videos.

Not really, I think it's just that kind of bike, don't really know anything about 24" tgs geo, but whenever I've seen that frame, it's had a big lanky stem on it, no head angle change will solve it. Slacker head angle will bring the bars marginally closer to you but then you piss up the front wheel handling. Steeper will just give you even more reach.

He sure does, these new frames are triple butted heat treated 4130 so I'm assuming the trials forks will be the same. So the weight will be good too, +/- the 1kg mark. And they're custom too so any length, rake, mounts. I've never seen a set price for forks though, they usually get ordered with frames, I'm not sure custom making a fork & then getting it sent here would be cost effective for him, maybe if there's a bulk buy though. I've never tested a set, I've always had Inspired on my bikes but I'd like some with less offset. -

I don't think the modern Marinos would give him any problems. But i agree, if anyone's gonna smash something up it's him. -

That was made of mild steel, years ago when Marino first started making frames, they were a hell of a lot heavier & nowhere near as strong as the heat treated 4130 cro mo he has now, no comparison, I've had both. Another thing to consider is that he asked Marino for the lightest thinnest tubing possible, Marino said no, but he insisted, so he goes and does some 15ft drops, 20ft drop gaps, and low and behold, the diet mild steel tubing (thinned & weakened by request) didn't want to know. -

Lol, that was several years ago, and he screwed Marino over and was generally a penis about the whole situation, like he did to at least 2 other companies since then. -

Ha, I do agree a bit, they have all the skills, but I felt a bit awkward when they looked at each other smiling. If my brother smiled at me like that....I'd be pretty angry. A few vids I've seen feature this. The "joy" & "laughter" looks so forced & fake, and if it is real....I really don't wanna see it. Just ride your pissing bikes. -
Ryan leech's bike is the last bike you wanna use as an indicator of the year lol. Crux was about 2008, doesn't say anywhere on the dvd case.

Well spotted, 29sec. That clip's reversed for some reason, his discs are on the right too, AND he rides left foot forward lol. Every other shot is normal, weird!

Yeah I don't think anyone's out of the question, I mean if you're THAT good, switching from Alu to steel's not gonna hold you back. Obviously he's after a certain standard of riding, but not at the cost of other important factors (I don't think he's gonna sponsor Damon again) A Joe Maher kind of back catalogue is an advantage & shows the commitment & consistency needed, but again, not everyone has that, I never did. -

Yeah I don't see any problem, he supplies any Country & you're much closer to him than we are. I think he'd quite happily have a tgs rider, problem is the really good ones who are well rounded & go big & put themselves out there....are usually already sponsored. Also, I'm not sure how tgs riders feel about steel frames, if you're constantly smashing a 3ft downtube into rails then maybe steel's not ideal. He has plenty of team Bmx riders in Peru, he has dirt jumpers, fixie streetriders, they all do demos & shows over there, we're just a minor sub section of it all. Also, could anyone who wants to PM us, please PM both me AND Ross, means we both get a good look without having to share everything in emails. -

There's no huge rush that I know of, but he's just received 4 tons of tubes, and they'll be gone faster than you'd think so I don't think he wants to leave it too long. I'll double check. -

We all know who Marino is http://www.marinobike.com/ He is looking for a new rider to sponsor with a new 4130 heat treated custom frame, any wheel size, geo, set up you want. He's asked me & Ross McArthur to check out some unsponsored riders and pick one. He's looking for a few things... * Your riding should speak for itself and you shouldn't be afraid to go big. * You should be creative & well rounded, no tgs robots, but not someone who just manuals & foot jam whips either. * Demo riding would be an advantage. * You'll already have good videos made, and have the equipment to carry on doing it, high quality frequent pictures & videos. * You should be a pleasant person with a good attitude. * You'll have a good style and image and generally promote the Marino name in a good way. * Someone who has consistently ridden for a long time & doesn't quit once a year for 6 months. * Competition results would be a plus but not essential as I know not THAT many people do them. I think that's about it, so send me or Ross McArthur your videos and tell us why you'd be a good team rider. PM me AND Ross, so we both see all without having to check with each other & swap info. Don't mail Marino, he's ridiculousy busy building frames! Cheers -
