Its more of a thing with taper cranks. Your using the taper to hold the cranks so your forcing hard steel into softer aluminium so there is some initial movement. Isis shouldn't.

Anodizing will never stay if your using a rim brake. I thought that would be quite obvious?

This can happen and is quite normal acctually.... If they are new cranks the taper will wear slightly at first and will settle eventually. If they're older cranks then its probably you not trying hard enough. But if they are constantly working loose then you've damaged the taper or splines, the only way to sort this is by replacing your cranks. Sorry.

This has very little to no relevance.... I know people close to 5ft that ride stock. CLS rides a mod and he's 6ft 4. I'm 6ft 3 and ride a mod.

Maguras are fine to use with water as the pads don't heat up and there away from the pistons. Disks you should never ever use water, it will more than likely ruin your sealsand as you use the brake the ceramic of the pads will heat up, the water will boil and the brake will loose all power. The DOT fluid designed for disk brakes is far more resistant to heat.

Its meant to scrape the crap out of the piston, it keeps the lever running smooth. They are increadiably easy to break or remove and they can look black, they aren't to important but they will prolong the brakes life.
