  1. Just the man I'm looking for, I can get the BB fitted but the chainring fouls the chainstay yoke (you dont half say its wide!) Had a look on Chainreaction and they have either 51 or 56mm chainline BB's, says nothing about axle length. And yeah i'm using the BB off the Effect. Do you think I should try the 56mm and space out the drive side?
  2. Just measured BB axle, its 138mm. Im thinking that the BB is for both 68 and 73mm shells as i would guess you would just need to remove the spacer. Dont know whether chainline is 51 or 56mm
  3. But I'm not sure what length I need, thus my query going out to Inspired owners or anyone that can advise me
  4. Anyone help? Even if you've got a Fourplay or Element i'm sure it will be the same set up. Would ideally like to get this sorted during the week if it means getting a new BB.
  5. Got my Inspired Hex frame the other day and using the Truvativ Husslefelt Trials crankset and XR bottom bracket off my old Ashton. I know that this is the same set up as on the Hex complete bikes, question I have is what is the chainline/axle length on the Hex complete build? My set up from the Ashton is too short despite both frames having 68mm BB shells. I'll need to order a new BB but I'm unsure what size I need. I'm sure the Fourplays and Elements have the same BB shell and chainstay yokes, so can anyone tell me the chainline length off theirs? Any help much appreciated as that is the only thing holding me back from getting the bike built. Dan
  6. Small update for the 1st of December, and something that the mountain bikers amongst you will appreciate! Progression Blog Dan
  7. The raw looks pretty good actually. I still think that spending that much on a freaking trials bike and to go do that to it is madness! End result better be good then! Are the 'bars fitted to the Skye any different to the 'other' Inspired bars? They look higher to me
  8. I think its the chainstays that make it look like it's longer but the top tube length might be longer too, I had an Ashton Effect and the only difference between it and the Zoot is the chainstay length, 385 on Zoot compared to 380 on Ashton.
  9. Should have kept the wee green pivotal seat on that and shame about the vee, rear disc doesnt look right in my opinion. Love the wee bike otherwise, they definitely look a bit longer than most 24s.
  10. I like it, and I love the inspiration behind the name. Doesn't photography and riding melt together so well? Kinda similar to mine but I'm going to have a re-design soon to make it more graphical, I think I'm using my literacy skills too much I shall follow you Milo!
  11. I had Pimplites on my Ashton 24" I prefer MTB rims as opposed to specific trials rims, I have more confiddence in them. I very rarely hear of MTB rims failing, Atomlabs are the ultimate in strength even says on the rim tape they are 'Tough as Hell' plus Danny Mac uses them, do you need anymore convincing? Yes they are a bit heavier than trials rims but they will last a lot longer plus they hold a grind very well. I had mine for 10 months and had about 4 or 5 light/medium sharp grinds with no problems. But also remember it also depends on the quality of spokes and the wheelbuild.
  12. Wee update posted, not much bike related though... Progression Blog
  13. not gonna make it to this anymore been asked to work all weekend, would have been great to go and get back into the swing of riding brakeless.
  14. i might come along, but i only have one trials bike now and its got no brakes would i still be orite?
  15. Im attracted to the new Sony A35, I currently use an A200 and I'm drawn into the A35's full HD video mode anyone got any experience of these or the similar A33? Looking to do loads of filming next year.
  16. really liked that though i do agree with the 'rushed' comment it does look a bit forced but they had all the tricks dialled and put on a good show, for me i thought it had a slight parkour influence but on a bike, there was a sense of travel and going from a to b.
  17. I'll be there Kevin, sorry if my entry arrives late I havent checked this thread much for updates on venue/date and i need to go get some stamps for sending the entry out to you. Apologies :$ Dan
  18. The next post will be just that, but going back in time first
  19. As if there weren't enough trials/media based blogs lurking about the web just now, I thought I'd like to show everyone my efforts at putting together a blog along the same lines. I've been looking to do this sort of thing for a while, and the brilliant Cleanzine blog was just the ticket for inspiration. In no way am I 'jumping on the bandwagon' as such...well okay i am a little bit, but I thought this would be just a good wee project for myself and something I could work on from time to time. I wanted to have somewhere separate other than Facebook to show my developing photography and editing skills along with my riding, the two go together pretty well I feel! This was the reason for the name 'Progression' but I am open to any suggestions related to the site including the name, incase someone already has that as their own signature that I'm not aware of. The site has been running since the start of the month and with a changes to the layout and titles etc I am now at a stage where I'm happy and can now show to you guys as a large audience. Feel free to have a look and read. Feedback is very welcome! Progression Blog. Dan Wright
  20. i would be fine with the Bob Macgregor venue. if i can somehow find a way of fitting brakes to the 26" i may ride that for the last round.
