  1. Pro4 same problems? I've got the 80 pro2 and had to get a bearing replaced as it went really rough and the wheel was hardly spinning and on installing the new one it was a lot better but not perfect like the bearing was before I installed it into the hub. Guessing some of the hubshells are faulty? Are both hubshell bearings rough or just one?
  2. Yea that version. Runs it standard gearing doesn't look like he's got lots of chain and it crank flips fine
  3. I've got a friend who has one on an inspired 4play, been on for ages actually. He's never had tension problems since putting it on
  4. Didn't you have a problem with a pre loader of some sort @Dman ? I'm thinking about swapping out my slx's that's all
  5. Just single speed a mountain bike so that's it's half hard to pedal. You'll be stood up more often then with setting off and hills, best way to see physical strength and endurance fast over a couple of months.
  6. Anyone know how much stronger the reinforcing is on the Evo hubs compared to the version of the pro2 before the Evo with reinforcement? Both Hubs shells have the same ring next to the drive flange
  7. It's not changed really anyway since the v2 only colour and geo lol wouldn't panic
  8. Which continental tyres do you mean? Thanks for the comments
  9. Little update: Spank rims and tripod seat with post make it a lot better than it was. I'm also trying ritchey world comp series foam grips which are surprisingly epic.
  10. That's beautiful and probably the nicest street bike I've ever seen
  11. Find an old disc rotor and grind it down so your left with the 6 holes as a spacer and use 5mm longer bolts, probably be able to get away with using two discs as modded spacers.

    BB spacing

Well I guess it'd be safer for the Bb threads putting spacers on the axle. Make up half of the spacers your running on the bb now and put spacers on the axle too, best of both worlds?

    BB spacing

Should be sound with them spacers especially now you've got the cups torqued up with the specific spanner and not mole grips
  14. Absolutely lovely that
  15. Alright that's strange, the black caliper looks pretty much the same as the normal bb7 which is confusing. Maybe a solution would be to order from an official dealer or get some near new ones off eBay? Depends how much the xc ones actually cost I mean if they're cheap enough you may as well try them as they look pretty similar and support big rotors. was that silver caliper the one the black ones replacing or the SL caliper? Confused as to wether they're are 2 or 3 versions now lol
  16. Isn't it just a little less beefy/lighter and made to look nice for light bikes and fit in with a more aerodynamic spec'd bike? If it takes the same pads I think the only difference is the appearance and a tiny amount of weight saved with them, they only do a 140mm and 160mm rotor option too don't they? And with lighter sram rotor? If your putting them on something that you actually use the brakes harshly on I'd go with normal bb7s
  17. Alright sound, I built this in mind for more street riding being a bigger than a 24 plus wanted a dramatic change from the hoppy bikes I've rode for years. How tall are like? I'm 6'1 cranks are narrow as in clearance on the chainstays/seatstays? How do you mean when you say tough to mount?
  18. Haha your right though the colours do go, I wasn't so sure at first but after getting the frame in front of me I decided not to strip it to raw. Yours looks a more trialsy set up, is that a 110mm stem? I'm just needing hope cranks to set mine off now I think, my chainring was catching and had to be spaced over a lot.
  19. Thanks. It's 70x25 stem with a 20mm stacker and yes they are arcade bars
  20. Thread the axle bolt over half way in and smack it?
  21. Been sorting parts out since January and managed to get the frame as the last part of the puzzle but rode around with the parts collecting up on another bike Here is the Carrera Vulcan with the first parts Here it is with according parts to the bike as I rode it round for months while paying for all the hope stuff mainly This is it a week before I swapped the frame and fork for the new Basically about how I want it now I have the frame and fork but may sway the cranks for some shorter hope ones with neater bash
  22. Get a tub and some petrol and put the the new freewheel in just enough petrol to soak until the colour of the petrol goes dirty and then empty the tub out and put fresh petrol in and the freewheel back in and just repeat doing this until the petrol stays the same colour then either run it dry or spray some wd40 or gt85 in it the first day you let it bed in.
