  1. Hi everyone, I am familiar with Shigura brakes as I have used them for a fair while on my MTB, but I'd like to know how they compare with Hope Tech Trial brakes for pure trials. I am back on mod with the latest Hope Pro 4 Trials brake, and I am curious as to how a Shigura would perform in pure trials. I can't compare myself because I have never had Hope brakes on the MTB, and can't really imagine how they perform with the wheel size difference etc... If anyone is kind enough to share his thoughts or experience then please let me know! Thanks for your time!
  2. You can from serious connection yes: https://www.seriousconnection.com/p/cadre-jealousy-ultimate-20-2022/ They have been out of stock since July now but the new ones should arrive in December. I did get the whole bike from them though, sorry if that wasn't clear. I am very privileged and am friend with Crewkerz's owner so I got a discount for the bike. That's also why mine is a bit different with no bash plate mounts among other things.
  3. This is very impressive, even more because you did it with spray paint yourself. Well done
  4. More pics. The rear disc brake is mental power wise. Never had such confidence in a rear disc brake.
  5. Pics of my current build. Received the frame raw from Crewkerz, it has no bash plate mounts but apart from that it's the same as the previous model (2022). Polished the frame as usual with my builds and built the best parts Crewkerz makes. Also applied some custom stickers I made from automotive covering film for a change. Note they were out of non disc hubs for the front so I am running a disc hub for now and will swap once they get them back in stock. They were also out of 145x25 standard stems that I usually ride on mod so I figured I would run the ultimate stem instead. I only needed to add 24 mm of spacers under it to have the same riding position as with the 145x25 stem. But with the forks uncut, I could only fit a 20 mm spacer. Works alright though. I am really happy to be back on mod. My stock is for sale. It was an excellent bike but not as funny as mod are.
  6. Woopsie Daisy, didn't post in the right section. This should have been in Trials chat, can any Mod move this thread? Sorry for the inconvenience!
  7. If what you are talking about is the white concrete blocks section where Oliver made that transfer from the slopy block to the other one some struggled to hook, then Borja followed the same route just before. Totally agreed it lets them choose their route if another one is possible. That's why I always liked the open free system.
  8. One thing that would be nice is to have some judges to give some points for style too just like in BMX. It is for me a big part of the sport but it seems to become a lost art. I remember being able to recognize Hegedus from Hermance or Gilles from far away even in comp riding as now all riders look alike when riding.
  9. So what you want is something like a real spring? Then yes the Jealousy is not something that would make you physically jump higher. It just helps you move faster if you give enough effort. I don't know if existing technology could offer what you would like and sorry if I was out of context.
  10. Ok, well that's kind of what the Jealousy does actually. I know it looks stiff but you can do insane things playing on tubes thickness, thermic treatment and hydroforming. Majority of its behaviour comes from the front triangle though as the rear one needs to be stiff for the power transfer. You can feel it when you get stuck in between two straight obstacles. It will feel insanely soft when preloading it. But if you release weight the frame acts like a spring. That's also thanks to alloy that has good resilience.
  11. If the world in English is the same as in French then what you are referring to is resilience, it's the capacity of an object to get back to its original shape after being stressed. The higher the resilience, the faster it comes back in its original shape. And that's how the Jealousy was designed. And I have doubts you can make it better than that. You should see the test pics and how stressed it can get before coming back into shape. It's mindblowing. Jack does for certain types of sections where certain moves are required. But that guy could ride any bike and destroy an entire comp anyway. Agreed. Although some years ago Crewkerz did. It's just way too expensive. Heck it's already pretty hard for trials companies only making alloy frames...
  12. As always with me, I know what I want to say, I just don't know how to say it. I remember a time when people really worked hard on all the competition to make the win. Now it seems no one is really pushing boundaries anymore. Have we reached the limit? I like the fact it gives some sort of balance between all riders but maybe too much. I think all sections for the best categories should be unfinishable. There should be more gates so there could be extra points and that would reward the riders that worked the section the best and the fastest. There is also a problem with the sections being harder towards the end. Sometimes it's impossible for riders to get a chance to try to get up the last section where they could actually shine because they have to get to it with some remaining time. Also, I know it will be a contradiction to what I have said before but riders that finish sections should get extra points because there have been draws with people that never finished a single section. The old rules were better in that aspect because you would get 5 if you didn't finish in time. Maybe a total competition time could help. You could keep the 6 sections, add some bonus obstacles with some extra points and extra time if you finish the base section in time. Just my opinion. But that may be too complicated for us as people clearly don't care about the rules. All they want to see is people getting up 2 meters high thin walls on seatless bikes then move on.
  13. I don't like the new rules but things are how they are.
  14. Yep, it has become ridiculous right?
  15. I think it's the best option for me.
  16. Yo, so finally talked to him about this and he said that he hasn't got any left. You can apparently make one from an old french one (don't really know what he meant, but I am on it don't worry). He is going to find the plans of the frame to see how you can modify one. I'll keep you updated.
  17. These were indeed great frames to ride. It's strange you say this as it's how I rode my 26" when I started trials again a few weeks ago. Now I am just riding it as a pogo stick again and that feels not fun at all... These modern frame and components don't help. I miss the playability of the mod. I was having only good days with it and now I miss it loads. And there are none for sale anywhere! I will ask him and tell you what he says!
  18. Oh my bad. I can ask Christian at Crewkerz if he has some left from the old Atomz times. He has some old time treasure. So you did get a 20"? I should have never gotten a 26" for riding trials again. 20" is where I belong and I regret that. The new Jealousy won't be here before some time (can't tell when exactly) so I may have another project to get back to mod but nothing is certain yet...
  19. Hey, that used an old design. I am not sure you can still find some spares. That could fit: https://www.tartybikes.co.uk/bash_plates/rockman_composite_bashplate/c82p12562.html?pos=100&search_params=YTo4OntzOjg6ImluX3N0b2NrIjtpOjA7czoxMjoiY2F0ZWdvcnlfaWRzIjthOjE6e2k6MDtzOjI6IjgyIjt9czoxNjoiY2F0ZWdvcnlfcmVjdXJzZSI7YjoxO3M6ODoia2V5d29yZHMiO3M6MDoiIjtzOjk6ImJyYW5kX2lkcyI7TjtzOjQ6Im1vZGUiO3M6MzoiYWxsIjtzOjQ6InNvcnQiO3M6OToicHJpY2VfYXNjIjtzOjEwOiJjb3VudHJ5X2lkIjtzOjI6Ijc2Ijt9 This one also: https://www.trial-bikes.com/en/bonz-expert-bashplate-p-536812.html
  20. I have learned to bleed them a few weeks ago now and now they are perfect. I bleed them from slave to lever, using a syringe at the slave and a funnel connected with the trialtech barb. I push the liquid very slowly and I usually tap with a metallic Allen key on the hose up to the top. Then I remove everything starting with the funnel and close the lever system, then remove the syringe, add a few drops of liquid and close the slave. Then I try and ride the bike on some flat using and making the lever snap as many times as I can. Then opening the lever I reattach the funnel with some liquid in it. And very slowly I push and release the lever a few times until there is no bubbles coming anymore. Helps tapping the brake hose again during this step. Your brake should be perfect now.
  21. Fair enough, I don't know anyone who is familiar with that sort of stuff unfortunately.
