Is it an Element 24 or 26 you have? You should've seen Ross killing it on his Inspired 24 proto at SBT last weekend! Was making me question having a comp bike with how easy he was making it look.

Interesting read with the weight saving. I'm still running tubes but using tubolito's which have been holding up great with Cast Stunt Double tyres. Downside is the Casts are pretty heavy at 917g each but the grip is fantastic and confident with the tubolito's holding up well. I used to get pinch flats when running the Rekons's, Holy Rollers & Air Kings with tubolito's which became expensive! I have been tempted to get carbon rims as it's rotational weight but I'm not sure about them. Weighing in at 400/415 for the Light Bicycle AM/EN My TMS T32 Street rims I run just now are 460g each. Spank Race 33 are 430g each.

I can't knock Hopes customer service at all but my Pro 5 was returned multiple times then finally was replaced which is when I sold it. The most reliable hub I have owned is the TMS one which came with my Silex 24 complete which I am still using. Never skipped a beat "touch wood".

If you're running 24" get Cast Stunt Doubles, I've been running them with Tubolito's since January this year and "touch wood" had no punctures running 30psi

Good topic for me as I've been contemplating changing the bar/stem on my comp bike as been advised to fit a more modern combo. But I've no idea what I like to be honest, it's just a bar/stem to me at the moment. It's an Echo 24 I'm riding for comps, picked it up as really enjoyed my first ever couple of comps last year.

Cheers Alex, the Lewis brakes have been brilliant so far, I've been running them since July last year, zero issues. The only downside I can think of is they are only sold in pairs. -
Rear hubs, which is most reliable, hope, i9 ect

Just went to have a look and it's looking like there is a new updated design which I can't comment on: https://www.tmsurbanshop.com/734-moyeu-arriere -

Most reliable hub I've had since getting back into street trials just over a couple of years ago is the TMS hub. I've had a Pro5 and can concur it likes to skip but is the most free spinning. I'm running an I9 just now, it skips now and then but overall very good and the amount of engagement points is awesome. But saying that, I will be putting my I9 up for sale next week and going back to my TMS hub. Mainly to free up a bit of cash for my upcoming house extension. -
Scottish Bike Trials will be hosting the BIU European Cup 2025 at the amazing Bob MacGregors venue on May 10th/11th Hope to see you all there
