  1. aye, you'll be getting a call in about 10 minutes Cheers dude! That helped a lot everybody else helped too, don't get me wrong cheers for the replies!
  2. Meant to send you a message, disc came today, cheers dude 3 cross sounds good to me
  3. Switching to a front disc setup for the first time and ordering my spokes tomorrow, I've got an onza sealed hub and an echo TR rim, 20" What's the preferences for lacing patterns on a front disc wheel these days? I think I'd rather take strength over saving a few grams, Inspire me! INB4 search function, I had a look but it's not the best search I've used if I'm honest. Plus posting this here means noobies can try to prove their worth, yes?
  4. If you like 20" bikes, and have ridden bmx for ages, might be a good bet to start there Also, you're fairly short so might be more comfortable on a mod. Onza bikes are a great place to start, really good value for money, well built and fairly decent parts
  5. Bit late to be asking how it is if you've bought it, dontcha think?
  6. I like foams, Ridden ODI longnecks for years, made the switch to foam and it feels way nicer if you want somewhere in the middle, I believe the trialtech foam grips are thicker and slightly harder than most foam grips, so you don't necessarily have to choose rubber if you like your grips fat
  7. so they're probably even less likely to fix it under warranty
  8. Totally forgot davey had quoted it this is gold!
  9. ahahahahahahahahaha! This made my day. You have literally seconds to edit your post before your chances of it being repaired go to nil
  10. does nobody you ride with have the tool and can let you use it for all of ten minutes? I switched frames earlier this week and my BB was a bitch to remove, I can't imagine having any luck removing it with a hammer and screwdriver
  11. I washed my car yesterday, If it gets covered in ash I'ma be pissed.
  12. a bread knife?! Kids these days, You should probably get your dad or a DT teacher to cut them for you if you're gonna attack them with a breadknife >.<
  13. brand new stanley knife blade and keep it wet Once you get the technique, you can whack em out pretty quick lots of smooth, light strokes are the secret to a good cut
  14. Is it just me or has everybody missed troyston's post in here? edit: Except a select few
  15. does it have V brake or 4 bolt magura mounts?
  16. I'm yet to try one on the front, but they're good for rear for me
  17. Monty eagle claws! fantastic tyres As for bars, I'm gonna sit in on this and see what people say because I'm tempted to swap out my flatbars
  18. Silicone lube (GT85 or similar) works a treat Pull the pistons out with a pair of molegrips (be careful not to break the little nubby!) and then twist them a bit so they rest on the 4 little fingers around the piston and hold the piston out. Then give it a good spray with lube, let it back into the cylinder body and then give it some pumping to make sure it gets nice and lubey. Have the brakes been bled with water? if so, you have to oil the pistons regularly to keep them working good, regular magura blood lubricates them but water does not, so you have to do that bit yourself
  19. because then all these noobies would vote for each other and overthrow the whole system Not being rude, or joining in any kind of slating bandwagon here. But the more times you post in this topic, the more likely you are to never get validated. Full members really AREN'T as cruel as people in NMC seem to believe, if you make good topics with well worded and punctuated posts you can be validated really really quick. I got validated within a matter of hours when I first signed up, not bragging just showing that it can be done. I vote quite often for new members who are making a decent contribution in here, go make some posts and I might give you one! ....Then i'll vote for you. ....If you're good.
  20. Us mod riders don't need these fancy pedal ups and taps that stock riders do, Just throw yourself up! sorted
  21. I love mine, they've done me proud for ages now And if I remember correctly, they're discounted on tarty nowadays because they're pretty old
  22. red loctite! brilliant stuff can't remember the proper name for it
  23. I was riding down the pavement with a mate heading into town for a quick sesh and there was some old bloke walking the opposite way, he purposely got in our way to be a nuisance and give us an earful of how we shouldn't be on the pavement "If somebody comes out of one of these doors and you're riding down here you'll run straight over them" Me - "No, because we'll just brake" "But you don't have magical brakes that stop you dead on the spot, son" Mate - "Well, actually, we do...." He scowled at us and moved along Old people these days
