  1. hmm I was thinking that but I didn't know whether to get a stem same length but higher. I don't think there's much height difference in the trialtechs and arcade bars...
  2. Hi all, I'm just looking for a bit of advise before i think of splashing out on stuff but i've got a mk1 hex which is great but i always seem to get myself in these situations with front set ups (Bit new to the street scene). At the moment i'm running a 120mmx17 stem and highrise bars which as i'm 6ft 3 feels okay but when it comes to doing a bit of normal trials moves it feels as if i'm over extending whether thats set up or out of practice i'm not sure but i'm feeling it mostly on gaps and side hops. Not had the best of luck since starting it all due to cracking my ribs a few months back and only just got back on the bike but i was just wondering what people would recommend set up wise if anyone my height has had issues
  3. Finally been able to get back on my bike. Broken my ribs a couple of months ago and again was hospitalized last Sunday due to pushing myself too much thinking i've fully recovered so taking it easy at the moment getting back into things
  4. Looks like we're in for a good couple of months. Got The Biggest Slice of British Pie out this month then this, all we need now is a Akrigg video
  5. Think you maybe 13 years too late probably long forgotten haha although there maybe that one guy...
  6. Fitted blade and lever last night and changed tensioner to a trialtech as the heatsink was being a pain.
  7. Ah right well I'm not much of a fan of the curve in the blade where my finger rests. I've just got the jitsie blade for my hope trialzone and feel more comfortable but then that's my opinion
  8. I have a lot of bad luck with maguras...
  9. I was looking at the trialtechs but having the lever blades on my zoo i didnt get on with them and kept getting finger strains for some reason. Played around with them for ages and still no good, i've ordered a jitsie one now so we'll see how that goes but it's a pain that the magura has already failed i just dont get how they get their disc brakes right but not their rim.
  10. I have a habit of building bikes from scratch so heres my collection. Titanium On One CX Boardman Pro FS Single Speed 26" which is now a 1x10 with Shimano Xt 780 and rides like a dream
  11. Well went to southampton yesterday and things were going so well until I noticed the pin holding my magura lever blade was coming out... I knew something was gonna happen as it always does with the new magura rim brakes as i snapped one attempting a side hop it went when i landed on the wall D: so already looking to get a new lever haha which i was looking at the Jitsie ones and then thought of getting the matching lever blade for my hope
  12. I could have gone over kill with a 150x30 but that wouldn't have been the point of going to a street bike :L have noticed to fronts feel nicer with this set up
  13. I don't think i'd get on with a shorter stem to be honest as even with this stem it still feels pretty short as i'm pretty tall but i'll see how it goes. I got a 90x10 hope stem if i ever think of trying shorter but this feels alright for the moment
  14. Well today's the day. Waiting on my rear wheel to arrive and I can finish the build so expect photos soon....
  15. Slowly getting there, fitted stem, bars, forks and pedals (Still need to cut steerer). Struggling to get the front tyre to sit properly in the inspired rim for some reason.... (Sorry about the potato photo lighting in the workshops crap)
  16. Yeah but i guess it'll have to do. That seems to be the think with hex's they always seem to be dangerously close with anything 22t but the truativ cranks they come with. I dont really want to be using any more spacers or as i've seen filing down the 4 bolt mounts for the chainring. I was going to use one of those washers but these have quite a wide surface area compared to those spacers and sit quite comfortably on the axle
  17. 2 BB spacers and then 3mm spacer on the axle. I tried 2mm but it just scraped so 3mm was pretty much spot on. Just gotta get a rear wheel now and then i can finish it all off!
  18. Cranks arrived and fits like a dream
  19. I was very tempted to be that guy and send the inspired wheel that I got built back and go for white rims but yeah with a pro 4 hub my rear wheels gonna be crazy heavy... Fortunately I'm not horrendously fussed about weight as I had a 12Kg Onza Limey 3 which I rode better than any of my 26" builds

    Ebikes?

29ers seem to be such a big thing now. I have an old school rigid mtb and a full sus 27.5 (Although not E bike) but although i'm a giant i've never been a fan or ever wanted to go 29er. Much more maneuverability on 27.5 and 26 is just still genuinely fun. Not tried a 29er ebike though which i'm sure would dominate on hill climbs but tried a few 27.5s and they're ridiculously fun just not quite been tempted to go down the e bike route myself.
