  1. It's not really DH is it. It's a fast Xc run with a couple of rocks in it, that's all. I wasn't even going that quick to be honest. Like I said previously, it's good for a steady pedal out with no stress
  2. I was at the pines today. Little clip from th 'dh' section People are right when they say it's not very challenging, buts it's ok because it's local and flat if you fancy getting out for a few miles and having a steady pedal. I quite like it, but it's not on a par with gisburn for techy stuff. Gisburn has some pretty techy climbs and descents and that's what makes it good

    The Angry Thread.

Big scam on. Tell the b*****d
  4. Probably not, because of your height. You'll find it has a better reach and more room with the longer stem
  5. Joe maher has an amazing style, and goes massive to say he's a relatively small bloke. Seen him ride a few times. I Think bar angle has a lot to do with this as well, look at Damons riding for example. I've rode with him many times and it's proof you don't need Carthy bars to do big stuff. Joe prattley is another one. Massive and smooth at the same time. Think the one lad I've rode with who surprises me everytime and has a really good style to watch is Barry Clay. So smooth and precise, and doesn't beast or force it up things, it's all technique
  6. This is my beast. Did the fork oil, it's loads better now. Load more plusherer now. Did some research, it's 150mm rear travel and made for a 140/160 fork. Hunt is on for something cheap and decent like domains or pikes. I think dual crown domains might be a bit much for it though. Next upgrades planned are superstar wheels and a zee drivetrain
  7. I had cancer research on the phone yesterday congratulating me for the dryathlon. Bit late I thought. So I told them I'd relapsed back into being a functioning alcoholic who was on his way to the pub right now for a massive session. In reality I was off to donny for a ride with the local lads and Quibèll and then on to the pub
  8. Cheeky roll up on a ledge at Donny college. Could never get up it before
  9. Got mine off eBay. Airedale bearings online shop do them. Cheap as well

    Films!?

Thing with that is though, if. You watch the blacklist on sky then it kinda ruins ultron for you as red, played by james spader in that, is very smug and suave and not villain like at all. Except he's the worst villain. Bit weird like
  11. Apparently narrow/wide Is the new way to go in CX. They are all doing it
  12. Head angle looks nice and shallow. My gt looks quite steep compared to it
  13. Nice that is ross. Looks nice and relaxed at the front.
  14. I don't bother trying to rescue pads, just bin them and buy some more
  15. Yeah and no. It is how you say like an old marzocchi, ie open bath style but in a removable cartridge, self contained and can be taken out of the fork completely with the oil still in it. Makes it a lot cleaner and easier to service
  16. There's holes in the damper plunger, I think that's what it's called, and it also has a lockout on which you can see when it's apart how it works, just covers two holes up. Changed the oil, put the top back on the damper and then screw the hole thing back into the uppers. Then slide the lowers on and bolt it up at the bottom and put the rebound adjuster back in. So yeah you could say it is sealed, but it can be taken apart for oil changes and new seals. It felt better on the damping last night just messing about on a local trail so I'll see what happens. Worst situation is I can just put 10wt back in. It's only a 20min job to sort it out
  17. It's not completely sealed, I opened it up last night to drain the old oil out which happened to be all milky and full of shite. Cleaned it out and refilled with fresh 5wt oil
  18. Find him. You'll not be happy or at ease until you do. I've been lucky as I've had a well decent step dad and my proper dad who have both always been there and supportive of me. What have you got to lose by meeting him? Your stepdad will be enough of a man to understand what this means to you, so just do it mate
  19. It's a suntour epicon fork, a sealed unit that screws into the leg with rebound damping only. It was too stiff on high speed compression and not really compressing, was kicking back through the bars on stuff that's not a big hit. It was making the fork legs flex rather than absorbing the bumps, hence trying to make the damping a bit softer
  20. Suspension question. If I change the oil in my forks from 10wt to 5wt to speed up the compression damping, and adjust the rebound adjuster to get the desired rebound speed, would I be expected to put some more air in or leave it where I had it before? I ask because I'm trying to speed up the compression without affecting the air/spring hardness. I'm currently at 110psi with approx 20% sag. Your thoughts please people in the know
  21. The temps at our place pack breakfast bars 3 or 4 days a week on 12hr shifts. They get over £8 an hour, so it's quite a bit above minimum wages. Factory/production line work is where the temp money is at nowadays
  22. Ooh be careful. I got told off last year for stocking up on beer

Macc or Congleton. Congleton isn't bad for riding actually, there's some good little spots
  24. Brake cleaner, fire, dishwasher. Works everytime for me
