That raises another good point about gendre specific colours and designs. I've got a little girl and it's hard to find clothes that aren't "girly" colours. I guess this sort of thing is what conditions a lot of people into thinking a certain way.
Of course I would question that bet. I know myself and how I would react therefore I'm well placed to question it. Why do you worry so much about what other people think? It almost sounds to me like you have a problem with but wish you didn't. The fact that you care means its an issue. If its an issue then it's down to you being closed minded more than what other people would say. You can blame other peoples reactions all you like but if you were as liberal as you'd like to be then you would do it if you wanted to.
The questions a bit stupid in my opinion. Why would anyone care enough to think "yeah that would be great?" Who cares what other people wear wether its dresses; trousers, shorts, skirts or whatever?
Shin protection. As in protecting your shins. As in not injuring your shins. As in not needing stitches. As in not ending up with an infected shin. As in not getting an infected shin and then it spreading like some sort of infected shin epidemic. Is it becoming clear now?
Accetable? You can't accet shin pads shkrts? Spelling errors aside, how can you not accept it? Do you rufuse to ride with people that make this faux par or rip their pads off or something?
Would it be possible to have 2 bikes, 1 with brakes and 1 without? I like a bit of brakeless now and again but can never be bothered to take my brakes off. Having 1 of each would let you do a bit of both depending on what mood you're in and stop you getting bored.
Haha Have you started selling pedals or something?
Anyway the question asked is a hard one to answer. Everyone has different experiences with different parts so no one can really give a conclusive answer.
