haha, not intentionally,accidently! lol

hey, a marino! archive geo,i´d guess? are the forks yours, too? looks good!
-
seems like i´m ready either to be very happy or injured, muahaha. tomorrows test ride will tell. also borrowed the gopro from a coworker,i have a cam,but in case i´m gonna loop out due to failing pads you´ll get 60fps footage of me kissing the floor

if its public property we ride on,dont we own part of it too? thats a problem i thought of several times, millions of people eat at picnic tables while just a dozen of them would ride over them. in my town its everywhere, you cant ride anything without being annoyed by people. even riding at sakateparks isnt allowed on ANY bicycle here... so i end up riding "public property" though, being not a part of the public who owns the stuff... but well done, your response to his letter was a really good read and an example for us being not grown men riding kids bikes, but people like others are and equipped with rethorical abilities.

cool things going on on tf these days,i like!

i´m baking, yes indeed.... 6 sets now,i´ll stop moulding for testing now, once the pads are tempered dave and a few others will have to tell me their opinion. i´m so f**king curious of what the shore tester dave has at work will tell, calculating the resulting shore hardness from component weights isnt exact really,so it could be a big surprise also. they are harder than some 83a i have here for a sample, but less "springy",its hard to tell. where are the guys that started making pads when this thread was in his baby shoes??? need more experiences from you about your own pads, how was the wear so far,did it tear, how was bite hold as the pads wore down etc? pretty important to know.

i have started a vid thread about half an hour ago,and being in a video-browsing-session i found another cool vid from dave kerr, who´s dave33 on here, and i thought it´d be worth a share. dunno why he didnt post it up here himself, but its a good watch. hope you dont mind me posting it for you dave!

thanks,forgot about that...

found that on another forum, sick idea.

wow,my gap distance is above average! ...for a 14 year old...
-
problem is i´m not confident to pull that from one obstacle to another, that is where 105cm is the mark so far... not really measuring my stuff though, had a tapemeasure with me "accidently" because i forgot it in my backpack after measuring a kitchen i´d like to buy and i was on the way home passing the spot i ride sometimes...

fortunately that stuff doesnt seem to trap much air anyway,so i do it without vibrating.(ordered stuff with 45 min pot time intentionally to avoid this, its like sugar water with additive applied) bee wax works a treat for releasing,i just put a little chunk in the mould and put it in the oven for preheating, then i mix the pu together, and right after i finished this the wax is molten. pour excess wax out, fill pu in,baking time.all in all a pair of brake pad refills cost me around an hour of my time. edit:hey,if a welder *cough cough* would make me a vacuum chamber,i´d be in to try it.but for now a vacuum system seems a bit much technical effort. releasing isnt a problem, but under vacuum the pu gets alot more compact, because those microscopic bubbles dont appear.thats a thing even vibrating wouldnt help for... thought the same and made the 3 sets i finished completely full size, theyre about 8-9mm when ground down faced

i´m truing wheels in the kitchen also, old fork or frame attached to the working desk plate-win! just have to be carefull where i take my tools after such actions,my wife would kill me if she ever took a spoon out of the drawer and had a spanner in hand instead

sometimes very nice things happen in this forum, exept for winter time lol

thanks! yeah, first ones were gash, tried tried tried, once the process was saved in my cortex it went automatic and i couldnt stop the whole evening haha. back to topic, heres the...erm...lets call it the welding thread, thats what it´s went to... but feel free to check out the other thread,i have the feel i´m now the only one that is posting there

could it be possible that everybody including me does at least store bike related stuff in his kitchen? i´m producing brakepads on my kitchen table as we speak lol
-
yours are the first ones that leave my kitchen after the protos i will glue into backings this weekend. tempered 3 sets of pairs now, theyre completely finished, only testing, then rocknroll or back to the drawing board;) you wouldnt believe how much harder they feel after tempering. the shore values will be pretty interesting...

on flat, between two manhole covers. dont know if i can tell that "rolling" i tend to do a pedalkick hop to land on the first, then use the momentum to gap to the second cover.

funny story:i was the first person for which marino has been doing a heat teatment to a frame.it came out like a banana, lots of emails and thoughts later there were kind of "frames for the frames" so they could stand the process. we are learning new things every day lol only downside was the new fame that had to be made, which is still the best one i had. that could be why i´m a bit heat treatment biased,i only can tell good things about it adding strength and so on about it i know theres hardly any aluminium alloy that doesnt has to be treated,i think 7005 can be cold-stored for a while and is releasing tension by itself then. i like stainless a lot, because of the look, but as far as i know the higher alloyed steels(should be the better term) arent as good in ultimate tensile strength as 4130 and similar steels. as always, corect me if i´m wrong, next time i´ll be knowing better if

but youre fine, nothing physically damaged? thats the most important thing, even if the bike was wrecked, what would you do if you were severely injured, better the bike than yourself
-
how much is 2,10m in feet?
-
out of real interest(i know this forum, hence i mention that lol),when would you recommend a thermal treatment for a bicycle frame and when not? i was just pointing out what my limited knowledge about metals allowed me to see, thats what i love in this forum, there are so many different people and every one of them has a clue of his genre, this gives a massive amount of knowledge available for all. okay,i´m not quite sure if really every one has a clue of his stuff here, but hey,you know what i mean edit:you can also drop me a pm if you dont mind,i´m not afraid of higher technical terms being used...
