  1. someone built this for a mates marriage afaik,it goes forwards when you pedal backwards:
  2. good question,i assumed he meant bottom out as in the fork punches through to the end of travel with a hard knock. as said above, reducing the air cushion (increasing oil level)makes the overall spring rate harder, increasing it softer, because less air is more progressive(it will get to higher pressure due to less space and oil couldnt compress noticeable),and the oil will almost reach the top cap at the ending travel, giving it kind of a lockout feel. if its topping out you should slow down your rebound valve, usually done with a long hex key from the top op your opened non spring side. edit:on my 04 dj3 the rebound springs were broken, did knock a fair bit when pulling into airtime, check this too to make sure it wont have further damage
  3. not a single clip in non-slomo and the music got my ears bleeding. shame.
  4. +1 for the timesert.i first said helicoil, then realized i´m using unior at work, theyre exactly like timeserts
  5. this topic matches the noodles with BEEF i´m eating as i speak here so much lol
  6. leon,is that you,or who´s wearing a helmet in that pic? :wink2:
  7. http://www.google.de/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=6&cad=rja&ved=0CHIQFjAF&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.uniortools.com%2Fcgi-bin%2Fcms.cgi%3Fdoc%3D10780%26prod%3D44810%26sid%3DE9vUIYXEzT861Fyz&ei=w0SKUfuSFe-g7AacqoCwDA&usg=AFQjCNGOW4WevGMW4LdRZouJzuRbthFpfw&sig2=l8xOqVYSK6TT5WicW_ed4g&bvm=bv.46226182,d.ZGU we use those at work and even downhillers didnt get them to get ripped out again... little trick is to insert the pedal a bit(prevents the insert from deforming at the next step),take a center punch and knock 2 little holes opposite to each other between the insert and the crank material, then turn the pedal out again a bit, then tighten it. with that it can unscrew itself never ever again...
  8. the bike looks seriously nice, the chain is frightening me though...
  9. no,he´s selling it on. surprise!!!
  10. my next non trials bike(retro ahoy!) marin nail trail 1995,used only as a home trainer yeah!
  11. marzocchi forks have 7,5 wt in there when theyre new,so yeah, should be thicker. you can adjust the rebound internally with a hex key though,i´d try that first before putting higher viscosity oil into it,those forks have a ssv valve system which means your compression and rebound use the same oil, leading to an always slow rebound with too thick oil, fork would stay compressed when going over rough terrain. for my ols marzocchi fork a selfmixed 8,5 wt was best, anything thinner topped out, anything thicker screwed up the adjustability. main problem should be the spring if its topping out too easy, maybe you need a harder one
  12. i think you should go in smaller steps if youre just starting to learn trials, trackstand and stuff, when you finally got some balance it will apply on the rearwheel stuff naturally. for me personally it took like 2 months of 3 hours training minimum a week to get something like an "aimed at something" rear wheel hop dialled the brain needs to build links to the muscles, once thats done it´ll be way easier, some moves get instinctive and you can focus your concentration on progression.
  13. does it have a hologram sticker? model year is pretty important to get the right manual...
  14. this^^ do what you feel, thats what we all ride for!
  15. do what your riding style says you should do? if i were a guy that wants speed i´d get a road bike and so on. you can ride medium dj with a rigid fork,so maybe a street bike like an ns holy would do the trick for you...
  16. yeah, normally a wheelbuild is going to be bang on in centering if all spokes are where they should be and tightened to an equal amount.
  17. both old,but awesome edit:pics embedding too small,original link:http://live.chilloutzone.net/fun/p/11504/lunch-tuete
  18. the weird thing is that in vids it always looks like a more trialsy bike tends to shoot up an obstacle from litlle to no distance, whereas street bikes seem to need runups.for me and my frame change it feels the other way round, the street frame was going up stuff from standing next to it,the trialsy frame wants me to pull up from more distance to the obstacle. strange,i know i´ll get ups dialled again, but atm its pretty annoying lol...
  19. if you want to say:hey that was german,i only did undestand the first 3 words... ...youre about to get the joke. for me this thread was vice versa to that lol :wink2:
