  1. If it has more hold and bite in reverse would that not be better as it would give better hold on the edge on what ever you're on?
  2. When I had a ride on one just didn't like disks on a 24 , prefer the fourplay geo too to be honest
  3. How about an OPS-CORE FAST helmet? Would certainly stand out and are incredibly comfy...
  4. It could work but it would proably either be very heavy or very flexy , interesting concept though would need to to have a clamping system to fit on and would probably only fit a select few frames with similar tubing sizes (A)
  5. Was just wondering , would it not be better to have a clamp and booster system where the booster sat below the clamps directly on the frame with the clamps slightly thinner to remove the flex from longer bolts , as isn't the closer the booster to the frame the stiffer it is? Had a wee design idea for that a while ago among other things. Would be nice to see a company making some things where there is a gap for instance some kind of disk to V or 4 bolt adapter would be pretty nice to see.Good luck!
  6. Is it odd that I read the OP in a japanese voice?
  7. Forgot about this thread , anyway I regrinded the rim and the brake still wasn't quite there and after tinkering about with TNN and Echo TR clamps , with and without boosters (TNN&Neon) I have found that it seems to work best with Echo clamps and Heatsink yellows (plastic backed) for some reason which I'm not to sure of as it shouldn't have been too stiff as it has quite a lot of flex so the TNN set up should have been fine. Guess it wasn't the right stuff for that particular frame * My last 20" 4 bolt frame was the Yaabaa 949 though so everything seems flexy next to that , really stiff "
  8. Avids are very good brakes I must say , my friends bb7 is the most powerful front brake I have ever used but personally I have never been on a bike that felt nice to ride using a rear cable disk , it just doesn't feel right. Personally I would get some trial zones or tech trials or a mixture. I really liked having the adjustability of the tech trial.
  9. All the guys I ride with that use blades/comps have really low lever angles , like vertical
  10. I try and stay away from monty products normally as for the quality of them they seem pretty overpriced like bars are about £70-80 when stuff from Trialtech , Echo , TryAll ect is cheaper , tends to be lighter and from my experience stronger. I must say though the eagle claw tyres are pretty impressive. ** Just saw Mark's post , damn 3g**
  11. The Minefield That Are Pads... Help! He talks the truth here , probably the most accurate thing I have heard about LGMs ,meant to use it as an example Lots of bite , very strong hold and a decent sound.
  12. You could even try cutting them I guess if you want to be serious about it
  13. TNN have a video that shows how to speed up the process or how to fix it I believe ski ski;)
  14. I'll try get some pics up soon , I think the problem is what RobinJI suggested or just it being a bad grind , think it was probably too light or something like that as it is so smooth already . I'v filled the mounts which has fixed the clamping issues. I'll try grinding it again tomorrow if I have time. I have tried the brake with Echo TR clamps and with a TNN booster and also with a Neon booster with LGMS and also Heatsinks with the same effect , which leaves just the rim working up. My LGMs have been the best pads I've used ( HS yellows , Rockpads , Belaeys , CNC HS yellows and "proper" cousts ) and it doesn't take long on the forum to find a topic with Ali C raving about them
  15. I know , I have used tennis wrap myself and it's very good , just saying to people not to wste their money on the TryAll stuff when you can get much better for less.
  16. They shouldn't go smooth in 4 hours riding of mainly sidehops with little braking?
  17. Bit of a weird thing going on atm.... Bought a new frame recently and decided to run it with a 05 maggie , 4 finger lever , LGMs and a TNN booster and clamps all on an Echo TR rim. I ground the rim using a stone cutting disk ( wore through my metal one ) and I've been of the though that thicker disk meant harsher grind? Any way after grinding the rim ( not my best I will admit ) and squaring the pads the brake was awesome and I really mean it , miles better than any other brake I have felt or used , incredible noise , mindblowing bite and amazing hold. Problem is now , two days after the brake has much much less hold , little bite (similar to my old plastic hs yellows) and little sound. I have noticed the grind has become quite smooth and smoother than my 24 Echo rim which was ground 2-3 months ago... I really have no idea what has happened here , any help or an explanation would be great. *Also has anybody else had issues with TNN clamps making the slave sit at an angle when tightened?*
  18. Mine , definitely..... No , it depends on your style and preferences.
  19. TryAll grip tape is crap , ruins your hands in just a short ride (30 minutes ish)
  20. Did it today , used the pipe cutter to start off and then used a hacksaw the rest of the way , bike rides amazingly now cheers guys.
  21. It's still personal preference , my echo has a fairly low bb and its the best sidehopping frame I have used , I can't sidehop nearly as high with a high bb and find it uncomfortable.
  22. I need to shorten the steerer on my urbans as it knackers my back running the 6 needed spacers and look stupid above the stem , planning on using a pipe cutter like this http://www.diy.com/nav/fix/handtools-storage-workwear/handtools/plumbing-tools/pipe_cutters/B-and-Q-Tube-Cutter-11247828 Will this work ? Seems too be what a lot of mtb riders use.
  23. I don't see why your making such a fuss about tarty , from what that thread said it is reset who makes the decisions on wether to replace it and they said no , just how it works. Also it's your fault because as you say in there you weren't listening and just agreed with what Ali said. That shifts any ( if there was any ) blame on tarty's shoulders onto yours. And think about it , from their point of view it looks like you used spacers and then changed your story , it's not for me to say your telling the truth or not but they can't be sure . Think of it like a court case and a witness doesn't listen correctly and then gives a different answer later , it might not be their fault but they still can not be trusted with evidence. If that makes no sense , sorry I haven't had any coffee today ... IMO
