I haven't had a chance to cut down the steerer (or really ride the bike) yet I do like a high front end, but this is probably a bit much
-
I really want mine back

So I cracked the zoot and was finding it hard to do any actual trials on the Flow, so I sold my Genesis and bought the new element frame and some element forks. Here's the result: Hopefully someone will buy my blade off of me and I might possibly be able to afford a hope rear hub

How did you prove it was yours?

17/20

I can hop about and am pretty stable on the back wheel, but I can't wheelie I have the same problem you are describing
-
The torx keys just bend and eventually snap. Every one I've had. Allen keys just seem more robust.
-
God, torx bolts are the worst. Any time you put any force through them, the torx key head either bends or snaps. I don't know why I haven't replaced them with allen bolts already Why do magura use them!?

My flow feels hard to keep on the rear wheel which makes me go from one move to another quickly with no/little correction hops and stuff, hence making me smoother. I also got the frame for £20 including a brand new cane creek headset so was a bargain.

Gaps to 90° are a good way to do it, especially when running low pressures. Or landing a gap right on a corner (generally when riding street)
-
Depends where I'm riding and how. Streety means fairly solid front and rear, natural means a bit lower on the back. If I'm doing drops I have it low, but not enough to bash the rim.

I cracked my zoot and bought a flow drift dj frame to temporarily replace it. At first it was really quite difficult to do trials stuff on, but having been riding it for a while now it feels quite nice. It has definitely helped me become more smooth. I just had to treat it differently is all, a bit like running dual disc or dual magura. It makes you ride differently. All I have to say is if Martyn Ashton did it on a roadie, it can be done on a dj bike.

I stripped the threads on the cranks, but because they're the onza blade ones, they've got that brass insert on them. I've stripped the threads connecting the cranks and the brass insert, which is now well and truly stuck in the freewheel. Now I have a set of useless cranks and a useless freewheel and I have to buy new ones. Grrrrr. On a good note, I think my LBS has a 72 (?) Click white industries ENO that they say they have had for years and might be able to do on the cheap for me

I think that looks darn good Maybe some Gold titanium bolts would make it look even better -
Does the frame have any rim brake mounts at all? Or just mounts which somehow aren't threaded? I'm a bit confused as to what you're getting at.

Yeah, I feel your pain brah It's what parents are like, especially when you're young I suppose. My mum is terrible for it, I mentioned wanting to try a backflip into a foam pit and she went bananas I said the same thing to my dad and he just said "I'll make sure the camera is charged and ready" XD In my opinion it is better to have parents who care than parents who don't give a toot I know when I was building my zoot my dad liked getting involved, but that's because we are garage buddies and we have always done stuff like that together. I decided that I wanted to build this bike myself as i am 15 and felt like I had the ability to (come on, it's not that hard) and he found it quite hard not to interfere While I'm here I'll post this. I went out on a little ride to this huge lake/golf course/forest/park place (Coate Water for anybody who knows Swindon) and it's full of random little trails. I decided to ride down one to see where it went and BOOM! Chainsnap!Just as I pulled away the chain snapped and I went over the bars into a nettle bush. I then had to scoot my bike home with a lumpy, stingy, tingly arm which took forever. I now have a bruised bottom as it turns out that inspired saddles aren't good for scooting.

What can I say... I'm badass I could have said "riding up Shaftsbury Avenue" but that doesn't really work
-
My dad told me he got his ZX10 flat out down the french motorway. Face it- dads lie Edit: It's still a cool video, motorbikes are so fun! I'm heading out on my trials moto tomorrow I can also do what your dad was doing on your bike, it's how I get all the ladies- riding up Swindon high street like that
-
When this happened to a tensile hub I had I just used an angle grinder to remove the head Then again I didn't need to preserve anything because the axle was snapped anyway
-
I'd say down... even on my trials moto you push them down.

Bit of a bump, but oh well. So the other day i was talking to a mechanic at my LBS about my zoot cracking (for anyone who doesn't know, surprise surprise, it cracked ) and he said he had a dj frame for sale. It was a fairly lightly used Flow Drift and it came with a cane creek s3 headset all for £20 which I thought was a steal. I bought it and built the bike up with bits I had lying about, so it looks a bit of a hodgepodge but I don't care as long as I have a bike to ride. I can't say it rides well (as a trials bike) at all because of the 4 mile long chainstays, but it isn't too bad at streety stuff. I am currently contemplating selling up my genesis 26 and putting that into a new element whenever that comes out I measured earlier and the CS is 410mm, the BB is at about 0° and the reach was something like 660mm. Edit: No comments about the length of the stem please, I know it's "too long" but it feels really nice
