Tricky one , this as it's not an exact science . I've seen some skillfully rewelded frames perish rapidly , where other hasty amateur rewelds will remain intact . There's too many factors involved ie: materials , type and quality of repair , usage of frame etc . At best , you're redirecting stress to the next weak point of the frame . That said , if offered a sweet rewelded frame at a good price , by a trustworthy individual , go for it .

You got 13 mm holes in a D-521 ? Hmmm.... (N) Guess I'll be gettin'my drill out then , I'm only running 9mm . Did the wheel seem to be affected strength wise at all ? Sorry , dude : no help on the whole Hammerite vibe , I'm afraid .

Why specifically a Saracen frame ? Surely any decent frame would be fine for evaluating if he's a fluke , or genuinely talented . Hope he gets into the sport . And yes , go for a BASE , they rule . Lots .

I have the "Vodalian Mage "card , simply because the illustration ( by Quentin Hoover ) is awesome .

Dunno , but I once won 1000 pounds on a lottery scratchcard . Was kinda like  w00t ! Paid into my account within a week , and blown on partying :"> .

Guess that makes me a ladylike freak , running 22 - 21 :"> . Just feels light and it's what I've always used .

MATHUDSO's talking about "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas ." My recommendation ? : In the name of the rose .

I'm presuming you mean this for use on the front , if so I'm gonna leap to the defence of XTR here . A correctly set up V-Brake , especially an XTR can offer awesome stopping power and modulation at a reasonable weight . It's all about setting it up and careful pad / cable choice .

Yes , close the topic , but I have to rectify this frame's name 'cos I used to worship the dammned thing . It's called the " beast of the east frame ." and is lovely . Lots .

Shame you're in a spiral of dissapointment . I guess it's largely personal as to how you deal with it and find motivation . What helped me was simply to take it less seriously , actually laughing at myself for investing so much time , money and effort and still failing pathetic sidehops :"> . You're your own harshest critic , we all wanna ride like the Belaeys and Hermances of this world , but even on a bad day like you describe above , you're still soooo much better than you'd believed possible when you started . ( remember ? When it was like , fun 'n stuff ? ) Hope you remember how good you are .

Congratulations , an awesome video that impressed many of my non riding housemates . Inspiring stuff , and great picture quality , too .

Sure , it's possible . Pretty good idea really , one gear for getting around and one suited to trials use . I've seen it done by someone who runs a conventional derailleur , and a tensioner should work just fine too , as long as you carry the neccesary tools to make the adjustments . What you'd need to do is simply strip a cassette , then replace the relevant cogs on the body using spacers to make up the excess space , being careful to ensure a good chainline for the trials gear . Let us know how you get on .

I just run the supplied ends from my Onza Porcipaws . There's an important safety issue here , though . I recall reading horror stories on here about bar impalements , easily prevented .

I'm no Hermance myself , but found it useful to load up some pedal power against the back brake , then release this explosively when doing the whole jump / pedal vibe . Only applies to static of course .

Most cables should do fine if carefully cut to size , whether for V or Cable disc brakes . Half the battle is getting a clean cut , so as to ensure the ends of the housing are cut squarely , perhaps even some filing down to ensure a good seating in the ferrule and cable guide .

My seaxy beast that isn't actually that sexy!

Good shots . Is there a schedule or any way of telling when and where these shows will take place ? Would kinda like to see Sir Martyn of Ashton live .

The fact that it's hardly visible suggests that you did a good job . Gotta love subtle modifications that are hardly noticeable .

Think STEALTH , remember : Elegance , not Elephants .

Was pretty deece . However , nothing comes close to the comic " Arkham Asylum" , THE best Batman publication ever , including all the films , cartoons etc.

Oh , the Hell with it - I'm just gonna quit riding now .

LEVERS : Shimano XT-V CANTIs : Shimano LX-V CABLING:(Bling) Clark's black BOOSTER: Tektro ! PADS : Very soft , clear plastic .

I suspected " Trashzen" Mmight have something to say on this . Moves like this really need explaining with complex hand signals " you sorta go like THIS , then this bit goes like THAT ..."
-
As I understand it , a wheelswap is what you described first ; shooting your back wheel to where the front was . A 180 degree rotation , where the wheels replace eachother , so to speak is a wheel swicth . I expect a member on here called Trashzen wiil correct me , he runs an eponymous website stuffed to the gills with moves and their names . There is a final variation , called a wheelchange , where you buy a new wheel 'cause the previous one was destroyed (Y) .

Nice , rugged location and weather . A rather long mech cage , incidentally . Shimano LX ?
