  1. Great work, Ben. I'll get on it just for the crack, init
  2. You're a pretty annoying chap. I just try and focus on the fact you probably can't help being a tool though. Awesome video which made me want to ride and also think more about my editing and filming. Good work Joel and co.
  3. If you want subtle but awesome American comedy then check out 'Party Down'. You often have to be paying attention to understand the jokes. I prefer it to The Office, etc. although it's kind of similar. Party Down is probably one of my favourite comedies of all time. And for all your high-brows out there, it's intelligent. I also really enjoy the dark humour of Six Feet Under and Curb Your Enthusiasm is awesome. It's not really a situation of 'versus' though. It's cultural reasons, not the condition of right and wrong, that make up the differences in humour. That being said, I generally don't get comedy that's overdone, so to speak.
  4. Very tidy; definitely want more.
  5. It depends on what style of riding you want to do? Are you interested in riding natural (rocks, woodland, etc.), street or in the style of Danny Mac? It also depends on your height/age because you might find a 20" wheeled bike easier than a 26". If you give us some general information, like the above, then we should be placed to give you some advice.
  6. I run an avid ultimate calipers, odyssey clear pads and linear slic cable and an XTR lever on a grindless rim. I absolutely love it. It's quiet, unless the rim is freshly clean, but very powerful. Despite my size it holds for pretty much everything unless the rim gets too dirty. Terrible in the wet though.
  7. It's easier for people to be knob like on the internet because the relative repercussions, compared to 'reality', aren't the same. Although I agree that there's often bullying, bitching, etc. I doubt you're going to effect much change by complaining yourself. The best method of influencing people is by taking a positive lead that impresses upon them. Basically just work on yourself, keep your own shit in check and that inevitably has a positive effect on changing other people as well. There is a lot of positive stuff on here though so there's no way of reducing the whole character to the more negative aspects.
  8. Great pics, Max. I wish I could have hung around with you chaps a bit more that day. Proper Old Skool meet up
  9. Can't you just have two alternatives? As in create a duplicate thread with just links? I don't have an issue with multiple embeddings and I prefer this because it creates a better atmosphere. I suspect, to be honest, that you're a minority case rather than a majority one. Haha, yeah you've f**ked it
  10. My studies weren't meant to be then. That was resits because I didn't turn up to my exams. It shouldn't happen again :$ But yeah it having started earlier would have been better. I don't know that it will definitely happen again just because I know of somebody else possibly having something similar in mind. If that doesn't happen then I'll happily do this again. Good idea about the videos though.
  11. Thanks Ali, kind words from yourself mean a lot Yeah, it's a difficult situation. I appreciate what you're saying but at the same time we don't really want people knowing that they came last. Also you can achieve feedback without knowing your score. In fact I think it's a rather weak form of feedback compared to proper constructive criticism. I'm sure you could ask the judges to give you feedback in this regard.
  12. I'd love to get feedback about what people felt went right or could have been done differently
  13. You don't I'm afraid. After discussing the matter with a few other people the conclusion was that people didn't need to know scores beyond those that contributed to winning a prize.
  14. Done! http://glasseyetrialscreative.blogspot.co.uk/
  15. So I've possibly managed to land myself a small photography job at a record shop. They're after "6 main photos of merchandise". They've asked me for a quote. What's standard for something like this? I'll probably charge less because I'm not experienced but I need a standard rate to reduce from. Thanks in advance.
  16. Free version only allows for 5 listens of any tune and then you can no longer listen to it. The free account used to be good but became something of a joke. I use the non-mobile version for £4.99 p/m and think it's a worthy service.
  17. Well, in an ideal world we'd all be able to work out our problems in some perfect way but sometimes, pragmatically speaking, a quick statement of frustration that evokes a response from others can help. We don't always have access to people in the 'real world' whom we can or are able to express those same problems. Having spent years talking to counsellors one thing that's frequently been stated as helpful in difficult times is articulating your problem in some sense whether it's speaking, writing or whatever. It's just a basic fact that for some it helps. I happen to be one of those people. It may not change the problem but it can alleviate your response to it to some degree. Perhaps being stoic is your method and that works for you. That's cool but for others it's different. On a side note, does anyone know where Tom is? He's the only judge I'm waiting on for the novice category of the comp. He hasn't responded to my attempt at messaging him. I never really cared for the happy thread though to be honest.
  18. I miss the happy/angry threads. They left me a place to vent or express when I don't have anyone in reality to do so and facebook seems inappropriate.

I'm in! I'm being lazy so can anyone tell me what are the limits of what I can grow?
  21. Alas, things are delayed because some of the judges have done it a bit wrong
  22. Hah, cheers. I just make sure to check through what I've written even if it takes a few goes. I have problems with balance that vary from day today. This morning on the way home I was walking like a drunk at certain points. I keep forgetting things and, for instance, ask the same questions over and over. I also forget what I'm discussing mid-conversation. The worst bit at the moment is the anger and anxiety and particularly because they aren't usually problems for me. Not being able to reduce them to events in the outside world makes them seem quite strange. It's pretty frustrating because uni isn't very possible at the moment but I really want to be getting on with it I had two CT scans. The second because I was having problems standing up and fell over a few times. I was also really adverse to light, felt sick a lot, etc. They didn't show up anything but they told me my brain has probably been bruised. It sucks that it may take a while. If I have to suspend my studies it would mean I'd have to pay the £9000+ tuition fees next year rather than the £3000 at present. f**king Tory f**kwits. Cheers for the response, Tomm.
  23. They were Inspired 4play teams. It seems it was a bit unfortunate and, I'd assume, one of those inevitable manufacturing defects that just happens with any product. Inspired forks usually last me at least a year normally. These only had about 2 months light use
  24. I paid about £60 but that was because they had a deal on at the time. It's really comfy which was what I was after due to my previous helmet fitting a bit badly. I've destroyed the padding very quickly though but I get an unusually sweaty head. I need to find out about replacing that actually. Aside from the padding I highly recommend them. They also seem far more sturdy than any helmet I've used before. I stacked it going down a hill when my forks snapped clean off doing a small hop off a curb. I didn't get my hands out and landed on my face knocking myself out. I woke up in a pool of blood, loads of people stood around me and traffic held up for some distance down the road. Not the nicest of experiences.
  25. Yeah I have. Shame I didn't have it done up when I stacked it...
