  15. i put the question up in the first place asking people what v-brakes were like, does anybody have any pictures of v-brakes on 4 bolt mounts, im just waiting for my bonz adapters and ill post some piccys up and give a mini review
  16. yeah but the 2 year warrenty has got to be appealing? well it is to me , i go through pedals all the time but the more you spend the longer they seem to last.
  17. im going to be using some new crank brothers platform pedals, but they are like 59.99 2 years warrenty etc,
  18. nah i have used them before and i loved them, it must be a personal preference thing. and im going to use sd7 calipers not bothered what anyone says lol .
  19. ive looked into this more with the guy i work with, and the best option is an avid brake due to it not using the paralel linkage thing, and im goign to be using sram levers fornt and rear as going to use avid sd7 on front but thats a whole different story, where do i get these bonz adapters? or does anyone have any i can buy. i odnt have msn at the moment so pm me please, and cheers for the people getting in contact with me about this issue
  20. yeah im definatly going to do it on my mod with my 48 mm echo rim see what it is like, it is goign to be tuff but im hard , so its ok
  21. i tihnk im going to give this a try, its one of those things you just have to try, maybe it will be better for comp maybe it wont be i will never no until i try. and i said above im going to use a pre-stretched cable and im trying to sorce an xtr calipers from in for sale section and i have the added bonus of working in a bike shop.
  22. mate i was going to do this on my bike at the moment using 06 echo rim and 06 echo disc hub, and using a hope mono mini, when speakign to tarty he said it would last one endo roughly then the wheel would fall apart, i wanted to do it to be different, but go for it if you want, but dont say we didnt warn you.
  23. yeah like i said above i would only use the best bits anyway, i would use a cable that it already pre-stretched but if it did stretch then you can always use the adjuster on the lever, i think it is going to be one of those things that i have just got to try and find out, anybody got any pics of v-brakes on a mod which has the 4 bolt adaptors?
  24. ok ill add you, and there is an xtr v-brake in for sale wanted im after lol, and it would be using a sram 5.0 lever which is lovely and powerful, but im sure ill be able to set it up nicely with a little help from somebody i work with (my boss, i work in a bike shop lol) i just fancy a change and have heard mixed opinions about them
  25. hi there, i have been thinking about this for a while now, i was wondering if i got the v-adapters for my python so i could run a v-brake what would it be like? i have seen on heatsink bikes website that they are now selling the v-brake pad backings with the notoriously good coustelier pad material in them. so do these pads work aswell in a v-brake as on a maggy? and i take it the v-brake can be run on a grind? and what are the benefits of a v-brake on the back? cheers ian
