Haha yeah, I was thinking that, although there is a LOT of thread - over an inch by the looks of it, so perhaps unlikely to go? Still, even if the thread does go, it would be easy to fix with a nut on one side so I wouldn't worry too much.

Cool thanks. Nice picture

Thanks, idiot.

That sucks. Totally OT - that picture in your avatar - is there a topic with a big version in it?

I don't know your Mum, but I wouldn't be in trouble for losing something. Certainly not enough trouble to want to lie to avoid it. Just tell the truth, it'll be fine.

I believe that in Scandinavia and probably some other parts of the world, Christmas is celebrated more on the 24th. We have to wait a whole other day.

Never mind. I've got a different number now probably. I couldn't decide whether to bring my bike back, in the end I decided not to but all I've wanted to do since I've been back is ride. Ah well.

I dunno about you, but I've hit my head a few loads of times. Just small knocks but probably enough to kill a super-lightweight helmet. Plus I throw my helmet about and don't take particularly good care of it. I know I shouldn't but meh, I'd rather have that extra bit of polystyrene so it will stand up to a bit of abuse.

Yeah cheers Kris, got it sorted

Yeah, mine's not getting a scroll box. This is only Firefox 1.0.6 but still... (Works fine here on IE7 by the way)

Adam, you got a spare bike? Could just come and take photos I suppose. Can anyone PM me Adam's number? Or actually anyone that's going.

It can easily go a good 3" lower in that picture before it hits the tyre, which would look way better. Daft Americans eh?
-
I would never buy an expensive lightweight helmet for trials. You'll break it too easily IMO.

I know, and I edited your post cos you're not allowed to do things like that on this forum Looks like Nero 7 is working now (Thanks boats). Thanks anyway.

Anyone else thinking this MUST be a pisstake? No matching IP addresses though.

Thanks, I'll have a look at that if I can't get Nero to work

Can Be Closed Unless People Find This Useful

In the past I've installed Knoppix, SuSe, Fedora and Ubuntu. None of them worked properly. With Ubuntu I had no network. With SuSe there was no sound. Fedora couldn't access my files even though it should have been able to just fine (And the other distros did) and Knoppix isn't really a proper distro. If I could just get a distro that did everything and worked, I would probably use it, because I don't really use any Windows-only programs. Maybe I've just been unlucky. -

Linux is rubbish. -
Very nice site. Anyone else getting this kind of error with the text? Also the dealers page is a bit daft only having dealers in europe. Guessing you're looking at changing that, but having a section for each continent is stupid when it's only Europ which has any dealers.

Argh this is really annoying. I have now got the full version of Nero 6, but now I need to buy the DVD plugin. The first thing I tried was a program called avi2dvd which seems to work OK but there's a conflict in my Xvid drivers apparently so it gets to encoding the video and stops (Avisynth- cannot decompress frame 0 error). IT'S ALL SHIT.

I'm not quite sure why you came here, it certainly wasn't for advice it would seem. There are plenty of people on here with good knowledge of trials frames (quite obviously far better knowledge than you) - but instead of listening to them, you just dismiss their ideas assuming you are right. The Steel vs Aluminium 'war' has been going on for years. It's much easier to create a light and strong frame out of aluminium than it is to make it out of steel. That's a fact and it's evidenced by the fact that at least 90% of trials frames sold are aluminium (probably more like 95-98%). This is when manufacturers are trying to make a lightweight yet strong frame (this is important in trials). With kids bikes, they don't really need to worry about strength (since the child isn't likely to break it), or weight. So they just make a cheap frame out of heavy hi-ten steel that is probably weaker than an aluminium frame half the weight. I'm sure your pram wheels (that's my personal favourite bit of this thread btw ) will be made out of stainless steel and will be very heavy, and not particularly strong. Also they'll have a pretty rubbish braking surface. There's nothing wrong with what you're doing if you think it'll be fun. Carry on. But don't believe for a second that you'll be creating anything remotely good. P.S. I have never seen anyone come to any harm from a frame snap. The most painful-looking injuries come from chain or bottom bracket snaps (which are steel by the way ).

New Year's eve is usually pretty good if you can cope with the cost and the crowds. I reckon the best bet is to find a house party with loads of your mates if possible. That way = free, cheap drinks. Christmas Eve is never really a big night out, is it? It's a go-to-the-pub-for-a-few night. Boxing day kinda the same?
-
No, it's actually my Mum's computer since I'm home for Christmas and didn't bring mine back. It has Nero but only an OEM version that basically does nothing. Didn't realise the full version of Nero had that functionality. I might try and see if I can get it for this PC.

I don't mean to be rude, but I am capable of using google. I don't want a load of apps that will only encode 30 seconds, or have loads of spyware etc. I want advice/recommendations from people who have actually done this before.

Thanks but that's not freeware. There must be something free?
