Admins: Change My Username Please.
Tomm replied to Charlie Jennings's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
You can change it yourself, in the control panel At least I think you can. Full members can but perhaps pre-members can't. Either way, a different name isn't going to really make a difference to how quickly you get validated again. Making a topic like this might though... -
I learnt all my photoshop skills ( ) from online tutorials. Just do a few and you'll learn all the different techniques that make up photoshop - whether or not the tutorial itself is relevant to what you actually want to do. That depends. I really only use Photoshop for photo editing, not design or anything, and the only brush I use is a standard round one for using masks etc.

I always got a bit annoyed when I had my Koxx and a BMX - whenever I was out on the BMX I wanted my trials bike and vice versa. In the end I got a 24 and I like it. That's all I'll say
-
Yep you can use your own freeview box if you'd rather. Surely you could have worked that out by trying it though There's no such thing as a USB--> SCART leaed but you can get some clever things that will play media on TVs - like this. Or you can get an xbox 360 and use it as a media centre extender, and play stuff over your network. Or mod an original xbox and have it run XBMC (xBox media centre) which will also play things off the network.

In the old thread I was offering an alternative scenario and I think I confused a few people, possibly including JT Read the original scenario again: The conveyor belt tracks the speed of the plane and the speed of the belt is the same as the speed of the plane. It says nothing about cancelling its speed or keeping it still. So it can move. I think you've confused quite a few people. Loads of people do. Scopse isn't really one of them because he's answering the wrong question It's a completely obvious question unless you misread/misunderstand the scenario. I wish people would stop chatting about friction. Like I said before, it's completely hypothetical so talking about friction is stupid. Why not talk about how it's impossible to get a big enough treadmill or a situation with no wind or a system that tracks the plane's speed in real time, instantly. You have to ignore things like this
-
No, you're wrong. Don't chat shit you don't know about. A bit of common sense wouldn't go amiss. It is against the rules, obviously
-
No it isn't. Not on this forum.
-
... And it'll still be shit for trials If you spend any more than that you may as well just buy two bikes - have a trials bike and a DJ/street bike.
-
Er... JT I thought you knew what you were on about but this is bollocks: The treadmill 'matches' the speed of the plane means that the treadmill will be going at the same speed as the plane. I.e. Plane going forward @ 200mph, treadmill running @200 mph, wheels spinning @ 400mph. The question says nothing about the treadmill cancelling out the speed of the plane to keep it stationary or anything like that

It's Currys, not Comet They all used to be separate companies though, they just got bought out so it's not quite the same thing. Plus all the Dixons shops have been rebranded as Currys:Digital so they're actually converging into fewer brand names not making new ones. To be honest I'm still puzzled by why Deng has so many companies. I don't completely accept any of the reasons in this thread, there must be something more. Maybe something to do with tax in China?
-
Well I wondered that, but came to the conclusion that we'd answered it so who cares?

I thought this topic would make approximately no sense to a lot of people reading it. Read this: http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....showtopic=71757

Which question are we talking about?
-
What I meant was that I wouldn't hold off selling it to someone else. Try and get hold of him by all means, but if you get another offer, take it.

I disagree Mark. If you hold a toy car on a treadmill which is going at, say, 20mph, the car's wheels would have to be spinning at 20mph. Correct? If the car was going forwards at 5mph (because you were pushing it at that speed), the wheels would have to be spinning at 25mph. Correct? But 25mph /= 20mph; the speeds are no longer equal. Therefore, we have proven that for the car to move forwards, its wheels MUST be moving faster than the treadmill. So it doesn't take off Because of this:

I suspect it's fairly safe to assume he doesn't want it dude... Sorry.

Here's the logo cleaned up. Open it in PS, and use the magic wand (right click) to select all the pink, and then remove that. Then you will hopefully have the logo on a transparent background. Ctrl-a to select all and you can then copy that into your montage, perhaps adding a drop shadow or some layer effect to make it stand out.

I'm sorry, I agree with JT!, but it all depends on the exact wording of the question. If the plane's speed is matched by the treadmill, it takes off as the two are entirely independent. Obvious. BUT If the speed of the plane's wheels is matched by the treadmill, it's more interesting. For the plane to even move forward(regardless of where the power is coming from), the wheels would have to be moving faster than the treadmill, right? Which we have already said is impossible. The plane doesn't take off. Which is what I'm talking about and I'm pretty sure what JT is on about too. All this talk about friction is totally stupid as it's an entirely theoretical question. There are other much more practical reasons why this couldn't work, but that's not really the point.
-
Well first off, it depends a lot on the original photo. If you have a nice clear background - either sky or a plain wall or something - it'll be a lot easier to cut around. Also try not to have too much stuff going on behind glass as that will be really hard to get rid of. It would probably save you time (if you do it) to drive to somewhere with a plain background and take good pictures. In photoshop, there are a few ways of doing it. You can use the freehand/polygonal/magnetic marquee tool (probably the simplest but can be frustrating as you can't stop half way through), or the pen tool (more complicated but allows more freedom). Then (select>) feather the selection a few pixels. The 'pro' way is apparently to learn to use the 'extract' filter but I've never been able to use that well at all. Google it and have a play though.

FFS, you knew the first one was a waste of time, but you still posted it which was pretty annoying. But then to post ANOTHER one straight after the first one was closed, well that's just stupid and bound to piss off any moderators. (Also, was there another one which was deleted?). ANNNNND you were basically calling another member gay which is 1) unnecessary abuse and 2) a retarded insult anyway. If I could put you back in NMC, I would. But I can't so you can just have a warning/suspension instead EDIT: What Tic (Haydon_Peter) said really. In case you hadn't worked it out, I don't actually like having to clear up all this mess. People who make more work for me via their own sheer stupidity/ignorance will probably get warned.

It hasn't worked for years Downloading now. I reckon this is going to be quite good... EDIT: Me likey

Here's some more (Looks like what benleacock posted): http://www.expansys.com/ft.aspx?i=133171&thread=15

In what way would that be a good thing?! My girlfriend rides XC with me sometimes and isn't always fun.

What do you mean 'to look in the folders'? On the phone or via bluetooth or connected to a computer? Doesn't sound like it's anything to do with unlocking the sim. So either do what Danny said or it might still be set to the phone's default code (0000 or 1234 or 5555 or something), so look in the manual.
