I always assumed it was because he could bring out a completely new frame design without damaging the company's reputation if it was rubbish or it broke. E.g. You have Echo as an established reputable brand, and rather than risk that with an untested frame, release it under a different brand (E.g. Gu). But in reality it's easier to think of them as all one company. I think the finishing kit is mostly so it can match the frame as people have said, but there are some parallels - E.g. Zoos are marketed as more of a TGS street brand and Zoo stems are supposedly made for street. I thought that the Hi BB frames had hi-rise stems to match too, but I can't find any examples. Yeah, why not. EDIT: Haha, as I was replying, someone's already done it.

That's debatable Monty parts aren't really known for their durability. Some stuff is good though. Anyway, that sort of thing happens all the time in trials
-
I don't really know. My point is that Musharraf has been around for a while, and now he may be around a bit longer. Nothing much has changed.
-
Perhaps, but your minutes and texts (especially texts) will cost virtually nothing to Orange (or whoever). Just because they charge 12p doesn't mean they cost that much. So you can't really equate 'free' texts with contracts to texts on PAYG - Especially when your deal has minutes/texts that you will never use anyway... Besides, like trials punk said, most people don't need or particularly want a good phone. You can buy phones for £20 which will do the same thing. It is a truly ridiculous market - a lot of people would save hundreds of pounds a year by using a cheap PAYG phone and topping up every now and again. But people want shiny phones with shit cameras (I'm as guilty as the next person by the way, just in case you think I'm preaching).

It's been like that for years though (Musharraf has been around for 9-10 years hasn't he?).

This has been posted two or three times before - I'm surprised you haven't seen it before. It's pretty simple really: If I said pick any 2 digit number. Take the second digit and subtract that from the original. In this example obviously every answer you get is a multiple of 10, so I could have a board where 10,20,30,40 etc had the same symbol. That would be too obvious though. They tell you to add the digits together, then subtract them from the total. They *could* have said subtract second digit (as above) THEN subtract the second - which would give the same answer. So you have the multiple of 10 as before (n times 10), minus 'n'. So the only possible answers are 9, 18, 27, 36 etc (multiples of 9). If you look, all the multiples of 9 are the same symbol, the rest are irrelevant. It's just pretty simple maths, but with a bit of extra crap to confuse you.

I think he wants suggestions It says on Tarty that the Koxx one is 130x20, which is exactly the same as the Viz one and TMS one... But there are loads that are very similar - just have a look. Tarty bikes.

That's not unreasonable really, especially with the dollar weak as it is. But make sure we can get them for that sort of price (£700) rather than just translating the dollar price into pounds as many people seem to think is fair By the way, well done for doing this. It seems as though you're just a random guy who decided one day to make this, but is there more to it? I mean are you an engineer, or planning this as a major business?
-
Yeah, the main driver has to be the one who drives it most... But then again how will they find out?
-
I was thinking about this the other day. Surely a fastened interface would never be as stiff as a welded one - even if the frames were made to amazing tolerances. Therefore there is the potential for some slight movement and premature aging of the frame? I'm not an engineer but I can't imagine the pros would outweigh the cons unless you did something very new. P.S. Pictures added to first post

You can get done for non-disclosure if the insurance company think you're the main driver (as opposed to your dad), and they can refuse to pay I think. This would be more obvious when there are two cars on one policy, especially if one looks like a 'first car' (E.g. Fiesta, 206 etc). If one van is for work though it is feasible that your dad would have another car for 'leisure'.

Googled it: Still not quite sure what the law is, but at least I know that there is one and I didn't dream it up.
-
There's something in the law to stop you from taking out two policies at once with NCB. Because if you claimed on one, you'd lose the discount on that but you'd still have 7 years or whatever on the other. I'm pretty sure there's something that stops you doing it, I can't remember exctly what though.
-
I'm not sure. You can only gain NCB on one policy at a time, I think. You'll have to phone the insurers up I'd imagine. Either way, if you crash your car on his insurance, he's not going to be happy about losing those 7 years NCB

I always thought he was a pretty average trials rider. But he seems right at home doing that stuff, very impressive.

The easiest way to post lots of pictures (on this forum) is to upload them to an external site like photobucket. That lets you upload as many photos as you want at the same time, and can copy all the img tags into one post for you. It also makes posting on different forums dead easy since you only need to copy and paste the forum code and the pictures will still work

I reckon running a tap through it is the best plan. Unless you've forced it there will be a lot material there. The other option is that there is some swarf or similar in the threads - give them a good cleaning and then grease. I've had frames that have done this. I changed the BB on my (pretty cheap) road bike, and it went in half way. I just forced it in the rest of the way (It didn't actually go all the way... But close enough ). It seems fine after a couple of months, but I probably wouldn't do it with an expensive and new trials frame.
-
I'd say... No. I'd like to try though. The uphill bits would be really hard.
-
It's still costing him at least £540 though...
-
Isn't there a mototrials forum you could take your argument to?
-
Hmmm. Don't go in shooting your mouth off straight away. Just talk to them and 90% of the time they'll just offer to fix it for free, whereas if you're angry they're much less likely to want to help. To be honest I wouldn't mention trading standards unless you actually know what you're talking about, otherwise you'll just look like an idiot.
-
They will all be terrible. Just buy whichever one has the best brakes.
-
Yeah, mobile phones on their own (without a contract) are really expensive - a new one can be upwards of £300 to buy. So the phone companies have offered that other stuff. When you tot up how much you'll pay over the 18 or even 24 month contract, the maths makes sense. Just be careful of those ones where you get cashback
-
They have to be converted. If you have the videos in iTunes, try right clicking and converting to iPod. It sometimes works but it can be quite slow. If you have a PC, try Videora, for mac use iSquint or Handbrake (Which is also available for PC now it would seem). When they're converted, they should transfer automatically (so long as you have enabled video in the iPod options).

It's not good news. I got the impression (from the BBC news) that she was going to be quite important in changing Pakistan's fortunes. If that's the case then they're heading for trouble, but I wonder if she's not quite as influential as they would have you believe. Still, sounds like she was one of the Good Guys. RIP
