  1. A lot of games come with a 72 (?) hour XBL Gold trial. Some of the eBay codes you buy are sent via email so you don't have to wait for the card to come in the post. Or you can do it with a credit card and the dashboard but it's a bit more expensive that way.

    Cheap Xt Brakes

They aren't actually THAT bad to use, it just means you're locked into an outdated system. The price is about right - If I had a commuting bike or something I might think about them.
  3. I've seen the flim, the Fly. Cool stuff happens when you teleport
  4. A lot of people on here are twats though. Chit Chat is probably 50% the same threads all the time (Photos/car / angry / happy / BOTI / RSQs etc etc) which is pretty lame. I can see why Mr Womble was pissed off with the responses he got.
  5. This improves things: http://operawatch.com/news/2007/07/opera-tip-how-to-disable-the-context-menu-when-double-clicking-on-text.html It's still not "right" though.
  6. Just installed Opera 11. Seems pretty nice actually. For one thing I'm impressed that the mouse gestures work all the time - on Firefox they don't work very well on "heavy" pages which includes the TF homepage. For that reason alone, I might just stick with it. On the other hand, it seems that the double-click-to-highlight-text behaviour is all wrong. I've got this habit of highlighting and un-highlighting stuff as I read it, so if the browser does this wrong it's incredibly irritating to me. Hmmm.
  7. If you look at the small print it contains Propandiol (antifreeze) and something call Benzotriazole which I've never heard of, but Wikipedia says it prevents corrosion. It's apparently used in aircraft antifreeze so stop the antifreeze f**king stuff up. So there you go. High tech aircraft antifreeze.
  8. You mong. You can sell it to someone overseas, I think they only get blocked for use in the UK. But still, it's wrong and you're a mong.
  9. Allow me to begin the wild speculation: If it was a box of KY, it's mine. etc etc
  10. I'm kinda tempted to warn you, just for being a smartass.
  11. If you want Trials and chat about inane shit, come to trials forum. If you want softcore porno boobs, why not just go to www.frontarmy.co.uk?
  12. Yeah I think this is right. It says the "bullet becomes embedded" which suggests some sort of deformation, I guess.
  13. Yeah I did it that way first (and agree with Robin's aswer although I think he has a rounding error ). But I always try and work things out a second way, if I can. It spices things up
  14. Looks like you're up to some crazy stuff Pete, good luck with this (and be careful!).
  15. Once you know the mass of the bullet, you can also work out the velocity by using the kinetic energy equation (KE1=KE2) etc. Just if you wanted to do it differently to everyone else EDIT: This doesn't seem to work, I get a bullet velocity of 22.7m/s. I'm not sure why. Anyone got any ideas? KE(target) = 0.5 mv^2 = 0.5 * (mass of target + bullet) * v^2 = 0.5 (2+0.008) * 1.434^2 = 2.06458 KE (target) = KE (bullet before hitting target) 2.06458 = KE (bullet before hitting target) = 0.5 mv^2 = 0.5 * 0.008 * v^2 v^2 = 2.06458 / (0.5 * 0.008) Which I get to be 22.7 m/s as I said. The only reason I can think of is perhaps some of the energy got converted to heat or something? Either that or your lecturer invented a hypothetical scenario which only rings true for conservation of momentum but doesn't work for conservation of energy?
  16. I've got the official xbox one. The reviews seem to say it's about the best you can get for the xbox (though apparently the PS3-only Logitech one is better?). It looks like a very well-made piece of kit, clamps onto a desk really securely and the leather steering wheel feels really nice, just like the one in my car really. Paddle shifters work perfectly. It's also got grooves in the bottom so you can use it on your lap but that's a waste of time IMO, it moves about a lot - you need a table for this one. There's no clutch pedal, so there's no heel-toe training. If you want to use clutch, you can set it to the X button in Forza but that just feels a bit stupid. Also handbrake is A which again doesn't feel right - I find it very hard to drift with the wheel. The other stupid thing is that although it's "wireless" (I.e. you don't need a wire going to the xbox), you still need to plug it into the mains if you want the force feedback or vibration. The steering is perhaps a bit light until the force feedback kicks in, but when it does, it resist you nicely. For most cars, the force feedback is on (to varying degrees) all the time. In fact, the resistance does actually stop you going where you want to go sometimes, and it takes a split second longer to overcome the resistance and correct your line. Which is good I guess, but it means your lap times could potentially be slower than with a normal pad (although I suppose if you're that bothered you can turn the force feedback off). For normal fast driving (as opposed to drifting) it feels pretty damn good. I've only used it with Forza 3 (front bumper view) and I can't really fault it - it makes the game so much more immersive. The only problem is that it's a lot of money for something that might get boring. I haven't used mine for months...
  17. Somewhat ironically it is illegal for doctors to treat animals. But not for vets to treat humans.

    Raceline Maguras

No, the yellow ones are lemons.
  19. I thought you meant moving vehicles, so obviously I was pretty disappointed by a sidehop. Yeah, I reckon lots of people have ridden on vehicles. I've done it. Cars are too bouncy. Trucks/Vans are OK. There's quite a few things I'd love to have the balls to try. Backhop out the back of a van which is moving forwards. It'd be a normal drop but you'd end up going backwards so you'd have to revert. That would be pretty fun. 360 spin drop off the side of a moving vehicle and land perfectly rolling forwards. Or something like this would be cool (with fewer broken legs).
  20. Do they return to normal after a little while? They probably just need bleeding?
  21. It's a good excuse to buy loads of shit between Christmas and new year, right?
  22. Nah. If you want a gaming forum, there are probably thousands. This thread has been posted so many times over the years "Should we have a car / photography / PC <delete as appropriate> subforum" but there's just no need.
  23. Yes Arrested Development is fantastic. More of a comedy than the ones you've posted though. What about 24, Prison Break etc?
