  4. From the album: Bike pics

So here it is. Used to belong to the_666ers, but now it's all mine :D Man, this frame rocks. When I got it I didn't realise it was going to be so short. At 1025, it's the shortest trials bike I've ever had I think, and it took some getting used to. However, now I love it! Shame it's cracked :( Anyway, enjoi!
  5. I haven't been able to ride for around 8 weeks and when I started again my hands were practically fairy-soft, and I got a big blister on my braking finger. Poor me, really.
  6. This thread rocks. Anyway, if you want to fix the old computer, maybe get hold of a copy of 10.3 and install that. I'm sure there will be some MSN messenger thing that works on 10.1, there must be something, even if it's not the microsoft one. To be fair, the Microsoft one is shit, everyone who has a Mac should get Adium, it's really good. So much better than any messenger program for the PC that I've heard of. That requires 10.2 (Jaguar) though. Get 10.3 (Panther), that ought to run ok, I think Tiger is not so good on the older Macs. Depends how old it is though. Nice work on the iMac though, rock on
  7. No because it will blatently be something else. Probably a Sora or something, knowing Koxx
  8. It's clearly just a pic of some scally doing a wheelie, probably badly, knowing scals (as I seem to...), and then crudely plopped onto some other pic.
  9. Cool video, was really good to see a 5 minute video that I wish would carry on, doesn't happen very often
  10. My theory is crap, but I don't really care. I just look up tabs of songs I like, and then learn to play, no matter how hard. I think that's the best way to learn, plus you can impress people by learning difficult stuff early on...

    Photo Tips

I have a few questions for anyone who uses manual modes. What is a good f-stop/aperture/shutter speed for: 1) Riding in dim light, preferably without using a flash 2) Riding in normal light 3) Landscapes on a sunny day Also, I want a digital camera. I think I want a Fuji s5600, but I've heard mixed reviews about it. The other options in the price range seem to be a Panasonic FZ5, Sony H1, and the Canon S2. I think the Canon is a bit too expensive, although perhaps it will come down in price after Christmas. I had a play with the Panasonic and that seemed a little bit small and fragile, the Fuji was more comfortable. I have not seen a Sony, any opinions on that? Any other suggestions? Mainly gonna be used for taking pics of riding (good quality low-light pictures important), and hopefully snowboarding if I ever manage to get away this year (Snowboarding pictures are hard - they alway look far too white and washed out when I take them).
  12. Right click somewhere on the page with the video, then "view source". Then you have to find the video file in all the gobbledegook known as html... Once you've found the video link you're away
  13. I'm liking my contribution to the video - Just getting twatted by my bike, that's all I did
  14. Yeah, sounds mucho like a software kind of problem. I would try and re-install OS X (Or whatever OS it uses)
  15. Yeah, I think you might have to. I remember having this problem a while back, can't remember how I fixed it though. Sorry, that's not much help is it? OS X on the PC is at the moment a bit of a waste of time at the moment. In fact I think it always probably will be on non-Apple hardware. I installed it on my A64 3200+ and it was ok, except loads of stuff didn't work. Like it wasn't compatible with my network card so I had no internet, and it also wasn't compatible with my keyboard. That would have been ok if I could use the on-screen keyboard, but that didn't work either Kinda good for braggin rights (in certain circles) but not much else... But yeah, OS X rocks. Apple hardware might be expensive, but it's good quality, and the OS more than makes up for the fact that it's expensive. Even though my Mac is probably a bit slower than my PC, I find I can get things done faster because of the way OS X is made. If you've never used it, then shut the f**k up
  16. I hope you got that on camera Was a good ride.

    Linux On Ipod

I'd be surprised if the older iPods had the processing power to decompress any videos. You can get Doom on an old iPod, but it looks crap, it goes at about 1 frame/sec. I mean Doom ran on 386s, so if the iPod isn't even up to that sort of speed, then it's not going to do videos very well.

    Im Worried

Sounds like a lot of effort when you could just burn it to a CDR in about a minute
  19. I get it worse on my front brake, by far. Coincidentally this is with an XTR lever, but the same happened with XT levers. You get a blister, then a callus and it no longer hurts. Just stick it out. And don't pick/bite the blister off, that's when it starts to hurt
  20. 24" I loved my Leeson (1040 with a tight (74) head angle) but I've got an Ashton now which is much shorter (1025 with a slack (72?) head angle) and it feels goooood. Not had a chance to play at gaps (dodgy shoulder at the moment), but for bunny hopping and spins it feels lovely. So I would definitely be tempted, for an all-out street frame, to have 1020 380 +25mm 73* I don't think that seat tube/top tube length is that important - it's not like you actually use a seat when riding so where it is is pretty irrelevant Although I've not had a chance to ride a 24" with either a higher or lower BB than +25mm, or one with very different rear end length. So I wouldn't like to call it "ideal" at the moment What you got up your sleeve then Iolo?
  21. I thought you lost the embedded-ness when you editted it and uploaded it etc, but obviously not. I realised that and editted my post
  22. Gonna get a new camera after christmas hopefully - Something like a Fuji s5600 My Olympus is getting on a bit, but it's been pretty damn good really. Takes lovely photos in bright weather (although it doesn't like a lot of contrast), but as soon as it gets darker it just fails miserably. 1. He has snapped it in two places, but it's still rideable. New frame on the way I believe 2. Yeah, that tyre was stupid, probably the baldest I've seen. 3. I'm sure that wasn't the biggest tap we saw all day, that boy is a bit of a beast at taps. 4. Looking forward to the video Any more comments?

    Anyone Use Flickr?

I don't think so unfortunately. There is a "blog this" link which works ok, but it somehow exports it directly to the blog and I can't seem to get a URL
  24. No, it's only dodgy shops in the back of MBUK that sell them for £100 per set. The RRP is about £140 or something. If you don't think they are worth £70, don't buy em from Tarty. But £70 for a brand new brake, including the 4 bolt mounts seems like a pretty good deal to me
  25. Does anyone here use the website Flickr? It seems good and it's a doddle to upload to, mainly because it has a plugin for iPhoto so I can just press one button to upload straight there. Anyway, once I've uploaded them, am I able to post them in the forum (here) or are the images secure and locked in Flickr? Ta
