  1. Good call, it’s in the powder coaters for a while so unable to do so just yet (and I’m rather impatient). Window shopping your site at i9s whilst waiting is not helping. I really would like to run the V2 carthy rims but that rear is defo going to be too wide, unless I shave my cousts to like 2mm haha.
  2. Anyone know what the widest rim you can fit in a mk1 hex?
  3. Step 5: Fitted a 120 x 17 stem, absolutely transformed the bike. Have dropped the frame and fork in for powder coating.
  4. Taken a bit of a gamble on a car. Really wanted a diesel estate again with some nice comforts for motorway miles. Picked this A4 s-line 2.0 TDI up for £3300 yesterday.. 162k miles is making me feel a bit stressed Edit: Problem 1 has arisen already.. Both drivers side doors don't seem to unlock very often
  5. Step 4: fitted a silver maggie, cousts, titanium bolts throughout the bike. titanium 16t bash fitted, 14t rear with trialtech spacers and new 610 chain.
  6. Step 3: fitted some try-all tyres… ruined the ride completely fitted a 90x35 stem… not for me sanded the saddle back
  7. Step 2: Strip padding off ugly saddle, strip anodising off the headset, spacers, tensioner, bashring and seat clamp. new grips. fitted a trial zone front brake + rotor
  8. Step 1: sort out some whack angles, cut down the seat post, rim grind, TNN pads
  9. When I look back at the bikes I’ve had over the years, the one that I have always regretted selling was my first hex back in around 2014/5. I find them to be the perfect balance between pure trials and street trials.. I particularly like the magura model as I do love the reassurance of the honk. After scouring the web, finding next to nothing aside a hex in Denmark and a frame kit in the USA I was going to give in to the shipping costs on one or the other.. until I did a final eBay check and one had literally popped up 30 seconds down the road! Fair to say the initial Rasta theme wasn’t for me… I’ll post photos of progress so far below. I am absolutely loving this bike.

    Stem help

Could anyone point me in a rough direction of what stem geo would make my hex as trials orientated as possible? I’m not into spins etc, I just want it as good as possible for gaps and general riding. Running Trialtech high rise bars currently but open to switching them out also.
  11. Loving this site. I couldn't find any on there but would be good to get some Kieran Whitefield vids up, always loved his playful style. (random fact he's now one of the biggest techno producers in the world and tours the globe) -
  12. Nice to see a build thread on the go! You can strip that anodising off in seconds with caustic soda and hot water. I'd at the least do that for the axle, but ideally the forks too before spraying them (blue battle scars coming through the paint might look a bit ugly).

    Koxx Kloud

I’ve finally got my kloud exactly how I want (heavily inspired by Stan’s old kloud). Few more ti additions to get over time, hose splitter was a barrel of laughs to fit.

    Covid19

I am now on day 4 (didn’t test positive until Sunday but symptoms really kicked in on Saturday). I’m thankful I’ve had a vaccine or I expect I’d be much worse but even with my first jab this is the worst bug I’ve ever had.
  15. I’m running saint m810s with a 180 on the rear and the power is insane. Using EBC red pads. I have to say though I’ve not had the set up long so can’t comment on durability but I can confirm that 180 is plenty.
  16. Massive post bump, anyone know if there’s currently any 26” carbon disc forks on the market? I’ve seen the echo ones but not too keen on the shape
  17. Hi TF. I'm wondering what bars people are liking these days on comp style 26" bikes? I always liked TT high rise before I stopped riding some years ago and wondering if there's a similar carbon equivalent, it was the sweep and fairly modest rise that I liked. It seems most bars currently have a lot of rise but that won't really suit my lower BB frame. For reference I'm riding a Koxx Kloud 26, with a 130x25 stem. Thanks

  19. Thanks Ross Also stripped the hubs, stem, cranks + headset. Got a bit carried away!
  20. My Hightower LT. The tyres are temporary for some xc lockdown riding.
  21. Jumping back into this topic, but if anyone with a set of XTR / MT7s fancies a swap for some Hope Tech 3 V4s in silver (with braided lines) I could be tempted.
  22. I'm currently running Hope Tech 3 V4s and have to say they aren't great for the money. They fade really bad and are pretty inconsistent. Previous brakes were the slightly lower model Hope Tech 3 E4s which have a slightly different piston set up, I can tell little difference between them. If I were to buy a set of brakes now I'd likely go XTR, however I've heard nothing but good things about the XT + SLX 4 pots. aside from some serious shimano noise in damp conditions - Can be avoided with a change to aftermarket pads.
