  1. Looks to me like you just need some snail cams, these sit where you have added the washers and should fill the gap either side (as well as tensioning your chain)
  2. Fair few changes since I’ve last posted. Bike is now a nice and playful 9.7kg. I’ve gone full ‘weight weenie’ which is a pretty much losing battle on such a bike, but it really does transform the way it rides. Every single bolt / fitting on the bike is now titanium, the list is extensive but even includes the saddle pivotal bolt, brake olives / fittings and other internals, crank bolts, pedal axles, hub bolts, rotor bolts, calliper bolts, tensioner bolts… literally the lot Other updates: carbon bars SL spacer (obvs saves 1kg) New saddle different seatclamp Ikon tyres set up tubeless with rimpact in the rear double spring i9 aluminium rear sprocket aluminium lockring
  3. For anyone else keen to see for reference -
  4. That was it! Thanks Ali, I'll get on the case
  5. I've seen a fair few running custom tensioners on their inspired's and the like.. I recall Ali talking about it in a video but I can't track it down. I'm looking to follow suit and thinking a piece of titanium, with some sugru and a nice bend should do the trick? Hoping to hear from someone who has successfully made a tensioner like this, what thickness material did you use? Also any photos would be great!
  6. Is there much benefit to these over my current HC7 levers? I’d like to know the weight
  7. I’m considering swapping to an alu sprocket. Wondering if a 14t is likely to be weaker or stronger than 18/19 etc?
  8. You could also skim a few mm off the pads easy enough
  9. Nice build Ross. Enjoyed this at 2am when I couldn’t sleep due to an excess of food and alcohol.
  10. Best thread in a long time. Keep the updates coming on any future projects please
  11. Bbbump. Ride is set to go ahead, quite a few coming it seems.
  12. Here's my experience so far: - Skipped with the original grease - Skipped with the diamond freehub oil - Removed almost all oil, zero skips since Now you guys mention it I am facing a slight creak now and then, I figured it was likely my bb / pedals need some grease as I've changed the axles. I do have a second set of springs so I'll fit them soon and see if it goes.
  13. Went for an hour blast around the skatepark at roughly 40psi front and rear. Tyres feel awesome although I’m used to running much lower pressures. For those with tubeless trials experience what would you say is the min pressure to run? For reference I have a rimpact insert in the rear, no insert in the front but do have one if it means I can run a lower pressure. I usually run 25-30 max. Hopefully this is the last post from me in here! Appreciate all the help Edit: Both are holding pressure no worries. Result
  14. I’m on TR ikons now. I’ve put around 120ml in the rear. But reckon I’ll need nearer 200 given it’s a 48mm rim. Front has stayed inflated overnight so I’m on the last push I hope.
  15. I think my prev set up was just way overkill, I’m sure I’ll get used to it. spoke to soon on the tubeless though, rear has gone down twice already. I’m hoping some pump track laps tomorrow might seal it
  16. So.. ikons with an airshot made for a very easy set up. Although the overnight wait will be the real test. Can I just ask are you running a 2.2 ikon in the rear? It looks so narrow in comparison the 2.4 holy roller I had in there!
  17. Wow, work of art. You must be a time millionaire Adam.
  18. Cheers Adam, there’s plenty of little touches that I’ve not really captured. Think I’ve single handedly propped up Stan titanium throughout the past year! Will get some detailed photos when I’ve fitted the last bits and bobs (and lost my sanity with the tubeless set up).
  19. Thought I’d share some photos of my new hex build. Still awaiting some more goodies in the next week or so but I’m really happy with it. Going rear disc has brought my riding on leaps and bounds too!
  20. I actually am not a huge fan of these at all. Anything you recommend? Edit: Off the back of Ali’s new build I’ve been a copy cute thief and gone for Ikon’s (and ordered an airshot to inflate). Beautiful build Ali, I’ve got a few similar flavours and silver touches in mine.
  21. Ok I give up. Anyone want some rimpact inserts and valves get in touch
  22. Ok so I am of course having issues straight away haha. I cannot get the tyre to inflate, I've never had a problem using this track pump before but it doesn't seem up to the task this time. The maxxis is rather loose fitting I'd say, I've tried to add 2 layers of gorilla but still can get the tyre on by hand (just about). I've araldite'd the join, drilled a 6.5mm valve hole and in this instance I've taped to the sidewalls (on MTB I have always left a slight gap). I'm not sure that a compressor is even going to do the job, but I guess that's the next and only option.
